We discuss here a weak and strong type estimate for fractional integral operators on Morrey spaces, where the underlying measure \(\mu\) does not always satisfy the doubling condition.
Aspergilloglutamic peptidase from Aspergillus niger (formerly called aspergillopepsin II) is a novel pepstatin-insensitive acid endopeptidase distinct from the well-studied aspartic peptidases, and ...thus is an interesting target for protein structure/function studies. Our recent X-ray crystallographic and site-directed mutagenesis studies showed that the enzyme is a glutamic peptidase in which glutamic acid-110 and glutamine-24 in the heavy chain are involved in the active site, forming a catalytic dyad. In the present study, we have investigated the pH-dependence of the enzyme activity and performed docking calculations to shed light on the catalytic mechanism of the enzyme. The results suggest a novel catalytic mechanism where glutamic acid-110 acts as a general acid in the first phase of catalysis. (Communicated by Masanori OTSUKA, M.J.A.)
Assessment of the mechanical fire safety performance of Japanese traditional floor-beam assemblies is conducted by predicting the post-fire bending stress of timber beams and validated by full scale ...45minutes furnace tests with specimens of floor-beamassembly of different spans and intervals of the beams. The study intends to explore the possibility to widen the application of and to develop theoreticalmethod for the design of traditionalwooden construction. It has resulted in the prediction of the fire safety performance of floor-beamassemblies by thismethod closer to reality than those by the conventional deformation-based assessment.
This paper extends the result in \cite{HNS15} to Triebel-Lizorkin-Morrey spaces which contains \(4\) parameters \(p,q,r,s\). This paper reinforces our earlier paper \cite{HNS15} by Nakamura, the ...first and the third authors in two different directions. First, we include the smoothness parameter \(s\) and the second smoothness parameter \(r\). In \cite{HNS15} we assumed \(s=0\) and \(r=2\). Here we relax the conditions on \(s\) and \(r\) to \(s \in {\mathbb R}\) and \(1 < r \le \infty\). Second, we apply a formula obtained by Bergh in 1978 to prove our main theorem without using the underlying sequence spaces.
Aspergilloglutamic peptidase from Aspergillus niger is a novel pepstatin-insensitive acid endopeptidase distinct from the well-studied aspartic peptidases, and thus is an interesting target for ...protein structure/function studies. In the present study, we have determined the three-dimensional structure of the enzyme by X-ray crystallography to a 1.4-Å resolution. The results revealed that the enzyme has a unique structure, composed of two seven-stranded anti-parallel β-sheets which form a β-sandwich structure and appear to have a partial two-fold symmetry, suggesting its possible evolution by gene duplication and that the glutamic acid-110 and glutamine-24 in the heavy chain form a catalytic dyad, consistent with our results obtained by site-directed mutagenesis. Analysis of the hyperthermophilic archaeon Pyrococcus horikoshii OT3 genome database led to the discovery and cloning of acylphosphatase (ORF PH0305a). To elucidate the first structure of archaeal ...acylphosphatase, we determined the crystal structure of P. horikoshii acylphosphatase at 1.72 Å resolution. The space group of the crystals was P3221, with unit-cell parameters a = b = 86.6 Å and c = 75.4 Å. The overall fold of P. horikoshii acylphosphatase was very similar to the structures of the eukaryotic enzymes. The conformation of putative active site was highly conserved. We discovered that a mutant defective in vacuolar functions (slp 1-1 mutant) leaked glutathione, but strain KL-197-12 B (slp 1-1 mutant) had weak fermentation. Therefore, hybrids were bred by ...repeated crossings between a temporal parent KL-197-12 B and a repetitive parent Kyou-kai No. 7 (K-7). Strain KL-197-12 B (α) was crossed with haploids of strain K-7 to yield first generation-haploids (1 HY). The haploids selected from 1 HY were back-crossed with haploids of K-7 to yield second generation-hybrids (2 HY), and the same process was continued until the strains had restored fermentation. Several strains were comparable to K-7 on fermentation of sake mash at a laboratory scale. Strain (No. 133) was most suitable in glutathione-leakage and fermentation.
ST0811 from Sulfolobus tokodaii strain 7, a member of the YjgF/YER057c/UK114 protein family, was crystallized by the sitting‐drop vapour‐diffusion method using PEG 10 000 as precipitant. The crystals ...diffracted X‐rays to beyond 2.0 Å resolution using an in‐house rotating‐anode generator. The crystals belonged to the rhombohedral space group R3, with hexagonal unit‐cell parameters a = b = 55.0, c = 223.2 Å. The crystals contained two molecules in the asymmetric unit (VM = 2.3 Å3 Da−1) and had a solvent content of 47%.
