Reticular chemistry has boosted the design of thousands of metal and covalent organic frameworks for unlimited chemical compositions, structures, and sizable porosities. The ability to generate ...porous materials at will on the basis of geometrical design concepts is responsible for the rapid growth of the field and the increasing number of applications derived. Despite their promising features, the synthesis of targeted homo- and heterometallic titanium–organic frameworks amenable to these principles is relentlessly limited by the high reactivity of this metal in solution that impedes the controlled assembly of titanium molecular clusters. We describe an unprecedented methodology for the synthesis of heterometallic titanium frameworks by metal-exchange reactions of MOF crystals at temperatures below those conventionally used in solvothermal synthesis. The combination of hard (titanium) and soft (calcium) metals in the heterometallic nodes of MUV-10(Ca) enables controlled metal exchange in soft positions for the generation of heterometallic secondary building units (SBUs) with variable nuclearity, controlled by the metal incorporated. The structural information encoded in the newly formed SBUs drives an MOF-to-MOF conversion into bipartite nets compatible with the connectivity of the organic linker originally present in the crystal. Our simulations show that this transformation has a thermodynamic origin and is controlled by the terminations of the (111) surfaces of the crystal. The reaction of MUV-10(Ca) with first-row transition metals permits the production of crystals of MUV-101(Fe,Co,Ni,Zn) and MUV-102(Cu), heterometallic titanium MOFs isostructural with archetypical solids such as MIL-100 and HKUST. In comparison to de novo synthesis, this metal-induced topological transformation provides control over the formation of hierarchical micro-/mesopore structures at different reaction times and enables the formation of heterometallic titanium MOFs not accessible under solvothermal conditions at high temperature, thus opening the door for the isolation of additional titanium heterometallic phases not linked exclusively to trimesate linkers.

Five medical-surgical Paeditric Intensive care Units from five hospitals in Spain.
The study took place in three phases. In phase 1, the questionnaire was adapted. In phase 2, the content validity of each item was determined, and a pilot test was conducted. In phase 3, we administered the questionnaire and determined its psychometric properties.
The assessment of the intention to use physical restraint was extended to all critical paediatric patients, two items were eliminated from the initial questionnaire, four new items were included, and the clinical scenarios of the intention subscale were expanded from three to six. Overall content validity index for the full instrument of 0.96 out of 1. The Paediatric Physical Restraint-Theory of Planned Behaviour Questionnaire is made up of four subscales (attitude, subjective norms (SN), perceived behavioural control (PBC), and intention) subdivided into 7 factors and 51 items. The internal consistency for the attitude subscale obtained a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.80 to 0.73, for the SN it was 0.72 to 0.89, for the PBC it was from 0.80 to 0.73 and for the intention subscale it was 0.75.
The Paediatric Physical Restraint-Theory of Planned Behaviour Questionnaire is an instrument composed of seven factors and 51 items that validly and reliably assesses the intention of paediatric nurses to apply PR in PICUs.
Having this instrument will help health centres move towards restraint-free care by allowing managers to assess professionals' attitudes, beliefs, and intentions around the use of PR in PICUs.
Postprandial lipemia has many physiopathological effects, some of which increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) can be found in almost all biological fluids, but their ...postprandial kinetics are poorly described. We aimed to profile circulating miRNAs in response to a fat challenge. In total, 641 circulating miRNAs were assessed by real-time PCR in plasmas from mice two hours after lipid gavage. Mice with intestine-specific loss of Dicer were screened to identify potential miRNAs released by the intestine. A total of 68 miRNAs were selected for further validation. Ten circulating miRNAs were finally validated as responsive to postprandial lipemia, including miR-206-3p, miR-543-3p, miR-466c-5p, miR-27b-5p, miR-409-3p, miR-340-3p, miR-1941-3p, miR-10a-3p, miR-125a-3p, and miR-468-3p. Analysis of their possible tissues of origin/target showed an enrichment of selected miRNAs in liver, intestine, brain, or skeletal muscle. miR-206, miR-27b-5p, and miR-409-3p were validated in healthy humans. Analysis of their predicted target genes revealed their potential involvement in insulin/insulin like growth factor (insulin/IGF), angiogenesis, cholecystokinin B receptor signaling pathway (CCKR), inflammation or Wnt pathways for mice, and in platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) and CCKR signaling pathways for humans. Therefore, the current study shows that certain miRNAs are released in the circulation in response to fatty meals, proposing them as potential novel therapeutic targets of lipid metabolism.
Broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica) and its bioactive compounds are associated with beneficial health effects, which might be enabled, at least in part, through miRNA regulation, despite recent ...controversial studies suggesting that exogenous dietary miRNAs may reach host circulation and target cells to regulate gene expression. Here, a computational analysis was performed to explore the processes and pathways associated with genes targeted either by (1) host-expressed miRNAs (endogenous) modulated by the bioactive compounds in broccoli or (2) miRNAs derived from broccoli (exogenous). In addition, the stability of exogenous miRNAs from broccoli was assessed after broccoli was subjected to the usual processing methods and in vitro digestion-simulating gastrointestinal (GI) conditions. Overall, bioinformatic results show that the anticarcinogenic and cancer-preventive properties attributed to cruciferous vegetables might be mediated, at least in part, through miRNA-related mechanisms. Moreover, results show that broccoli-derived miRNAs can survive common food-processing conditions and GI digestion.
There is little information about carbapenemase-producing (CP)
, an important nosocomial pathogen. We characterized CP
isolates collected from different Spanish hospitals between January 2016 and ...October 2017. During the study period, 139 nonduplicate CP
isolates were identified; of these, 80 were studied in detail. Carbapenemase and extended-spectrum β-lactamase genes were identified by PCR and sequencing. Genetic relatedness was studied by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Whole-genome sequencing (WGS), carried out on 12 representative isolates, was used to identify the resistome, to elucidate the phylogeny, and to determine the plasmids harboring carbapenemase genes. Forty-eight (60%) isolates produced VIM-1, 30 (37.5%) produced OXA-48, 3 (3.7%) produced KPC-2, 2 (2.5%) produced KPC-3, and 1 (1.2%) produced NDM-1; 4 isolates coproduced two carbapenemases. By PFGE, 69 patterns were obtained from the 80 CP
isolates, and four well-defined clusters were detected: cluster 1 consisted of 11 OXA-48-producing isolates, and the other three clusters included VIM-1-producing isolates (5, 3, and 3 isolates, respectively). In the 12 sequenced isolates, the average number of acquired resistance genes was significantly higher in VIM-1-producing isolates (10.8) than in OXA-48-producing isolates (2.3). All 12 isolates had chromosomally encoded genes of the
genotype, and by multilocus sequence typing, most belonged to sequence type 2 (ST2). Carbapenemase genes were carried by IncL, IncHI2, IncFII, IncN, IncC, and IncP6 plasmid types. The emergence of CP
was principally due to the spread of VIM-1- and OXA-48-producing isolates in which VIM-1- and OXA-48 were carried by IncL, IncHI2, IncFII, and IncN plasmids. ST2 and the genotype
predominated among the 12 sequenced isolates.
The management of the Non-Profit Organizations has to orient itself as much towards the attainment of social legitimacy, like a the obtaining of competitive ability to face the challenges that they ...have to confront. In this work, it proposes that the management stakeholder allows to reach both requirements when fomenting the creation of social capital. The existing social capital in the network of relations of the organization considers a strategic resource that it favours that the organization accomplishes her organizational aims. The empirical study has been based on the qualitative methodology of the study of cases, and the made analysis does possible to confirm the raised hypotheses.
