Reasonable evaluation of case similarity is one of the key technologies based on Case-Based Reasoning (CBR). In order to solve some defects of case similarity model, such as have not fully considered ...the diversity of attribute type, lack of commonality and so on, this paper presents a new evaluation model of case similarity based on CBR. In the model, the similarity of symbolic attributes, numeric attributes and interval attributes are designed in detail, the weight of each attribute is evaluated by G1 method, and the case similarity is measured by combination of global similarity and attributes similarity. Application of the evaluation model illustrates that it has good versatility and extensibility.
Software quality evaluation is complicated, and the major existing evaluation methods are too subjective in weight setting. In this paper, a synthesized evaluation method based on rough set theory is ...presented. This method converts the weight determination of fuzzy synthesized evaluation into the calculation of the importance of attributes in rough set theory. The weight is completely determined from the law of the data, to avoid the randomness of subjective method and the uncertainty of objective weighting method. An example shows this method is effective and feasible.
Coal or rock electromagnetic emission analysis is a promising method for predicting coal or rock dynamic disasters. Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is applied to this problem in this paper. HMM model is a ...processing method of dynamic information based on probability, which can reflect both randomicity and potential structure of the object. Model selecting of HMM Bayes Information Criterion is combined with classical optimization algorithm. Moreover, k-means clustering algorithm and Gaussian mixture model are introduced to initial HMM model. Researches in this paper indicate that HMM is an outstanding probability learning model which can perfectly analyse coal or rock electromagnetic emission time series problems.
Simulating urban development scenarios for Wuhan Yu-e Shi; Zuidgeest, M.; Salzberg, A. ...

With the rapid growth that most Chinese cities experience, urban and transportation planning become increasingly important in developing pathways towards sustainable development. Spatiotemporal ...simulation models can support understanding of urban dynamics and assessing the impact of policy alternatives by answering questions such as: What will a city look like in the future if different spatial planning alternatives are applied? How will new land use or transport investments affect the populations' access to jobs or specific activities locations in the city? How robust are planning alternatives under different assumptions of socio-economic growth? This paper reports on work that has been carried out in a World Bank funded project to demonstrate methodologies and tools to support Chinese municipalities, such as Wuhan, in developing sound land use and transportation planning strategies based on scenarios of land use change coupled with accessibility indicators. The aspect of sustainability addressed in this study relates to the performance of transport systems and how these influence the livability of the city, measured in terms of accessibility. First, a land use change simulation model (Metronamica) has been set up for the central urban core of Wuhan and calibrated for the period 1994 to 2004 using historic data and expert judgment. Next, seven policy-relevant land use change scenarios have been developed, starting with a Business-as-Usual scenario, assuming a continuation of historic land use dynamics combined with current land use and transport policies. These scenarios have been analyzed to show possible future land use developments and the impact of different policy alternatives on urban development. Two activity-based accessibility indicators have accordingly been measured in a GIS environment to study the effects of the land use change and transport interventions on accessibility to jobs over time. In addition, eight accessibility scenarios have been linked to the land use change scenarios. The results from these scenarios showcase the 'cause-effect' relation between planning, land developments and accessibility and demonstrate the utility of the approach and methods. Such an approach combining scenario based spatial analysis and simulation can provide an added value to urban policy and practice in China and elsewhere.
DSS data of the last twenty years and more in the northern part of North China are further interpreted, and combined with other geological and geophysical data, the crustal model for the 3-D finite ...element method is built after straticulate crustal structure and elastic mechanics parameters are obtained. Referring to regional tectonic stress field and taking the effect of gravity into account, the paper constrains properly the model boundary and then computes the displacement of each nodal point and the strain and stress of each element by using the program from the 3-D linear elastic finite method. The relationship between the distribution feature of the crustal stress field and seismicity is discussed on the basis of analyzing contour maps of maximum principal compressive stress in the upper, middle and lower crusts.PUBLICATION ABSTRACT
On the basis of study results of deep sounding in the Yanqing-Huailai basin, the shallow active tectonics, palaeoseismic events, seismic activity, distribution of crustal stress field and other ...related data are combined to study the earthquake risk of the basin comprehensively. Meanwhile, the comparison of deep structures between the basin and some other earthquake regions such as the Xingtai area is made. It is thought that there is the background of deep structures for occurrence of moderate and strong earthquakes in the Yanqing-Huailai basin and its periphery, and the possibility for an M=7 earthquake to occur there cannot be excluded.PUBLICATION ABSTRACT
