As a type of non-coding RNA of more than 200 nucleotides, long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs) lack protein coding ability and can regulate gene expression. MicroRNAs(miRNAs), which are also non-coding ...RNAs, are short single-stranded RNAs, usually composed of 18–23 nucleotides. MiRNAs inhibits gene expression by specifically binding to the 3′-UTR of downstream target mRNAs and can function as oncogenes or suppressor oncogenes to regulate the occurrence and development of cancer. LncRNAs can function as competitive endogenous RNAs that bind to miRNAs, resulting in the recovery of downstream mRNA expression and activity. The regulatory network existing between lncRNAs, miRNAs and mRNAs regulates a variety of biological processes, including cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration and invasion as well as cell-cycle arrest. Disruption of the ceRNA network affects cell growth and development and often leads to various diseases, especially cancer. The lncRNA MALAT1, which is located on chromosome 11q13, contains more than 8000 nucleotides and is implicated in the occurrence and development of many cancers. Here, we review the impact of the ceRNA network and the lncRNA MALAT1 in cancer.

The construction of tourist towns is an important aspect of new-type urbanization construction. In this study, 155 tourist towns in Fujian Province were selected as samples to analyze spatiotemporal ...differentiation using the geographical concentration index, nearest neighbor index, and local correlation index. Then, a geographic detector model was used to detect the factors that influence the spatiotemporal differentiation of tourist towns and to analyze the explanatory power and interaction of these detection factors. Finally, the mechanisms underlying the detection factors were discussed. Factors affecting the spatiotemporal differentiation of tourist towns in Fujian Province were core factors of traffic network, level of urbanization and population distribution; important factors of industrial structure and socioeconomic basis; and a fundamental factor of policy guidance. These six factors interacted to jointly affect the spatiotemporal differentiation of tourist towns in Fujian Province. The results of this study can provide a basis for the development of tourist towns in other similar regions and have reference value for better optimizing the pattern of urban and town systems and coordinating the synergistic development of urban and rural areas.
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a highly heterogeneous disease with a mesenchymal subtype tending to exhibit more aggressive and multitherapy-resistant features. Glioblastoma stem-cells derived from ...mesenchymal cells are reliant on iron supply, accumulated with high reactive oxygen species (ROS), and susceptible to ferroptosis. Temozolomide (TMZ) treatment is the mainstay drug for GBM despite the rapid development of resistance in mesenchymal GBM. The main interconnection between mesenchymal features, TMZ resistance, and ferroptosis are poorly understood. Herein, we demonstrated that a subunit of NADPH oxidase, CYBB, orchestrated mesenchymal shift and promoted TMZ resistance by modulating the anti-ferroptosis circuitry Nrf2/SOD2 axis. Public transcriptomic data re-analysis found that CYBB and SOD2 were highly upregulated in the mesenchymal subtype of GBM. Accordingly, our GBM cohort confirmed a high expression of CYBB in the GBM tumor and was associated with mesenchymal features and poor clinical outcome. An in vitro study demonstrated that TMZ-resistant GBM cells displayed mesenchymal and stemness features while remaining resilient to erastin-mediated ferroptosis by activating the CYBB/Nrf2/SOD2 axis. The CYBB maintained a high ROS state to sustain the mesenchymal phenotype, TMZ resistance, and reduced erastin sensitivity. Mechanistically, CYBB interacted with Nrf2 and consequently regulated SOD2 transcription. Compensatory antioxidant SOD2 essentially protected against the deleterious effect of high ROS while attenuating ferroptosis in TMZ-resistant cells. An animal study highlighted the protective role of SOD2 to mitigate erastin-triggered ferroptosis and tolerate oxidative stress burden in mice harboring TMZ-resistant GBM cell xenografts. Therefore, CYBB captured ferroptosis resilience in mesenchymal GBM. The downstream compensatory activity of CYBB via the Nrf2/SOD2 axis is exploitable through erastin-induced ferroptosis to overcome TMZ resistance.

With the development of agricultural modernization, the carbon emissions caused by the agricultural sector have attracted academic and practitioners’ circles’ attention. This research selected the ...typical agricultural development province in China, Fujian, as the research object. Based on the carbon emission sources of five main aspects in agricultural production, this paper applied the latest carbon emission coefficients released by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change of the UN (IPCC) and World Resources Institute (WRI), then used the ordered weighted aggregation (OWA) operator to remeasure agricultural carbon emissions in Fujian from 2008–2017. The results showed that the amount of agricultural carbon emissions in Fujian was 5541.95 × 103 tonnes by 2017, which means the average amount of agricultural carbon emissions in 2017 was 615.78 × 103 tonnes, with a decrease of 13.13% compared with that in 2008. In terms of spatial distribution, agricultural carbon emissions in the eastern coastal areas were less than those in the inland regions. Among them, the highest agricultural carbon emissions were in Zhangzhou, Nanping, and Sanming, while the lowest were in Xiamen, Putian, and Ningde. In addition, this paper selected six influencing variables, the research and development intensity, the proportion of agricultural labor force, the added value of agriculture, the agricultural industrial structure, the per capita disposable income of rural residents, and per capita arable land area, to clarify further the impacts on agricultural carbon emissions. Finally, geographically- and temporally-weighted regression (GTWR) was used to measure the direction and degree of the influences of factors on agricultural carbon emission. The conclusion showed that the regression coefficients of each selected factor in cities were positive or negative, which indicated that the impacts on agricultural carbon emission had the characteristics of geospatial nonstationarity.
The research describes the recognition and classification of the acoustic characteristics of amphibians using deep learning of deep neural network (DNN) and long short-term memory (LSTM) for ...biological applications. First, original data is collected from 32 species of frogs and 3 species of toads commonly found in Taiwan. Secondly, two digital filtering algorithms, linear predictive coding (LPC) and Mel-frequency cepstral coefficient (MFCC), are respectively used to collect amphibian bioacoustic features and construct the datasets. In addition, principal component analysis (PCA) algorithm is applied to achieve dimensional reduction of the training model datasets. Next, the classification of amphibian bioacoustic features is accomplished through the use of DNN and LSTM. The Pytorch platform with a GPU processor (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti) realizes the calculation and recognition of the acoustic feature classification results. Based on above-mentioned two algorithms, the sound feature datasets are classified and effectively summarized in several classification result tables and graphs for presentation. The results of the classification experiment of the different features of bioacoustics are verified and discussed in detail. This research seeks to extract the optimal combination of the best recognition and classification algorithms in all experimental processes.

In this paper, three monitoring sections were set up in Lugu Lake, and water samples were collected in 2019, 2020, and 2021 for the determination of physical and chemical properties such as ...permanganate index, chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD

) and so on. By using the single factor pollution index method and the Nemerow pollution index method, the water quality of three monitoring sections and the whole Lugu Lake was assessed, and the temporal and spatial changes of water quality were analyzed. The findings demonstrate that Lugu Lake's overall water quality is excellent, and that it has not altered significantly in three years.The results of evaluating the water quality by the single factor pollution index method show that, in the past three years, the water quality of the three monitoring sections and the whole of Lugu Lake is Category I, which belongs to no pollution, and the measured indicators all meet the water quality standard of Category I. It can be seen from the evaluation results of the Nemerow index method that the water quality pollution index of Lugu Lake is between 0.22 and 0.34 in the past three years and the water quality evaluation of Changdao Bay, Lake center, Zhaojia Bay and the whole are Category I standards in 2019, 2020 and 2021. In terms of time changes, the water quality of Lugu Lake has remained stable between 2019 and 2021, and the water quality has been good. From the perspective of spatial changes, in 2019 and 2020, the water quality in Lake center is better than the monitoring sections of Changdao Bay and Zhaojia Bay.
