Although the rapid progress of the global economy and technology has advanced human civilization, it has also caused tremendous damage to the global ecological environment. Therefore, humans are ...thinking seriously about the environment and its sustainable development. One of the solutions to environmental problems is new energy vehicles. Since the promulgation of the “Energy Saving and New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan (2012–2020)” by the General Office of the State Council, the Chinese government has determined a strategy of pure electric driving technology. The electric vehicle market in China has expanded rapidly, making China the largest electric vehicle market in the world. Hence, research on the situation of electric vehicles in China is highly necessary and of reference value for other countries to develop electric vehicles. As a result, it is a critical issue to develop low-carbon, energy-saving, and intelligent electric vehicles to reduce the environmental impact. This paper establishes a theoretical framework based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB), technology acceptance model (TAM) and innovation diffusion theory (IDT), and explores the key factors influencing consumers’ purchase of electric vehicles. The results show that: The application of the key factor model constructed in this study to consumers’ behavioral intention regarding electric vehicle purchase is acceptable. According to the structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis results, (1) In terms of behavioral intention: Consumers’ control over the resources required to purchase electric vehicles has the highest influence on their behavioral intention, while consultation opinions from consumers’ surroundings also significantly affect their behavioral intention to purchase electric vehicles. In addition, consumers’ environmental awareness and acceptance of technology products will also influence their behavioral intention. (2) In terms of attitude toward behavior: When consumers believe that electric vehicles are more beneficial at the individual, environment or national level, or they believe that the usage of electric vehicles is simpler and more convenient, they will show a more positive attitude towards the purchase of electric vehicles. Consumers consider electric vehicles as forward-looking technology products with similar driving operation and usage cost compared to traditional vehicles. (3) In terms of regulations: The opinions of consumers’ family members, friends, colleagues or supervisors do not significantly affect the attitude or behavior of consumers regarding electric vehicle purchase. The key factors influencing consumers’ purchase of electric vehicles are not only applicable to the design and development of electric vehicles that better suit consumer demands, but also serve as a theoretical basis for the popularization of electric vehicles, and provide a reference for consumers’ choice and purchase. Therefore, the government and relevant manufacturers need to consider increasing the publicity of electric vehicles and launch more attractive battery and charging schemes to attract consumers and promote the sustainable development of the automobile industry.
As one of the internationally recognized solutions to environmental problems, electric vehicles feature zero direct emissions and can reduce dependence on petroleum. Hence, it is necessary to explore the factors that drive consumers to buy electric vehicles. This study analyzes the factors that influence the consumer’s intention to buy electric vehicles and tests the relationship between them, and intends to offer information for the formulation of policies designed to popularize electric vehicles in order to reduce carbon emissions from transportation. As a result, consumer attitudes are the most important factor influencing the intention to purchase electric vehicles. The greatest effect is found in this line: Brand Trust→Perceived Benefit→Attitude→Purchase Intention. This means that the brand can increase the consumer’s perceived benefit of electric vehicles, make consumers more attracted to electric vehicles, and influence their final purchase intention.
For the effective clinical antibacterial application of biomaterials, such as for wound management and tissue repair, the biomaterials need to show proper antibacterial capability as well as ...non-cytotoxicity. Furthermore, the material needs to have suitable mechanical characteristics for further medical use. Chitosan hydrogel is a potential candidate for various antibacterial biomedical applications due to its amine functionalities that lead to antimicrobial characteristics. Nevertheless, its antimicrobial capability is dependent upon the degree of protonation of amine groups caused by the pH value. Moreover, its mechanical compressive strength may not be high enough for clinical use if not chemically or physically crosslinked. This study utilized a novel chemical crosslinker, mercaptosuccinic acid, to improve its mechanical characteristics. The natural antibacterial agent, cinnamaldehyde, was grafted onto the crosslinked chitosan to improve its antimicrobial capability. Meanwhile, to take advantage of the thiol functionality in the mercaptosuccinic acid, the bactericidal silver nanoparticles were incorporated through silver-thiol covalent bounding. NMR analyses indicated the chitosan was successfully mercaptosuccinic acid-crosslinked and grafted with cinnamaldehyde at different ratios. Combined the results from the mechanical assessment, swelling experiments, antimicrobial assessment, and cytotoxicity assay, the chitosan hydrogel with the highest crosslinked degree and grafted with cinnamaldehyde and silver nanoparticles is of great promise for further clinical uses.
This paper synthesizes the literature from the fields of design education and social innovation to obtain a complete understanding of the development of these fields’ knowledge, and it also compares ...and cross-analyzes the two fields to determine the entry point for combining the knowledge in both fields. Two types of bibliometric software were used to capture and classify the data, and descriptive statistical analysis, co-occurrence analysis of keywords, knowledge evolution analysis of studies cited in both fields, and burst analysis were conducted. The results reveal that integrating technology into the field of design education in combination with shifting the focus from enhancing students’ professional competence to enhancing their overall competence can contribute to the improvement of design education quality. This is in the context of empathy research becoming a trend. Furthermore, the field of social innovation defines “social innovation” as a mutual agreement between practice and theory to promote solutions to society’s problems. The research in this field covers all aspects of social life and has a complex disciplinary background. The field of social innovation is currently mostly concerned with the relationship between universities and social innovation practices. The burst analysis reveals that open innovation is becoming a common focus of both fields and is developing into a popular research topic.
With the rapid growth of online entertainment live streaming, how to continuously innovate and achieve long-term sustainability has become a major challenge for the industry. Augmented reality (AR) ...technology offers users immersive interactive experiences and potentially addresses this challenge. The aim of this study is to explore how AR technology influences key components of user online experience—immersion and intention to pay—using survey data. Building upon the Hedonic Motivation System Adoption Model (HMSAM), this research incorporates aesthetic variables to theoretically expand the model in order to gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms influencing user behavior. A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect 450 valid samples. Detailed analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling. The findings confirm that aesthetic design significantly impacts users’ judgments of content value and perceived ease of use, generating positive effects at the perceptual level. Additionally, AR applications enhance the quality of user experience, thereby stimulating intrinsic motivations such as curiosity and joy. Further analysis indicates that users’ curiosity and perceived behavioral control directly influence the level of immersion and intention to pay. Overall, the research results offer important insights into industry applications. This study successfully expands the HMSAM theoretically by incorporating aesthetic variables to enhance the explanatory power of user judgment mechanisms. The analytical framework proposed aids in understanding the potential mechanisms of new technologies on customer experience and commercial value creation. The research findings provide guidelines for technological design and marketing strategies of streaming platforms.
Finding insights into consumers’ perceptions and behavior regarding purchasing second-hand luxury goods could promote the vigorous and sound development of the second-hand luxury industry. The ...research objectives included: (1) probing into the relationship between consumers’ perceptions and purchase behavior regarding second-hand luxury goods; (2) discussing the current state and future trends of the market for second-hand luxury goods; (3) learning about consumers’ perceived value of second-hand luxury goods so that it can be applied to other types of commodities in the future to develop corresponding second-hand markets; and (4) analyzing the differences between factors that influence different types of consumers’ perceptions and purchase behavior regarding second-hand luxury goods and allowing second-hand dealers in the industry to use them as a reference. This study discussed relevant studies and theories on second-hand luxury goods, perceived value, and consumer behavior, and shed light on the follow-up research and development. It used the method of semi-structured expert interviews of the respondents. The outline of the expert interviews was created according to the current state and future development of the second-hand luxury market, consumer behaviors, and consumers’ perceived value of second-hand luxury goods. The content of the interviews was sampled, analyzed, and summarized according to the research scope to develop a questionnaire for consumers of the survey. Factor analysis was used to carry out statistical data analyses on the statistics converted from the collected questionnaire data. This study sorted out the main factors that consumers consider when purchasing second-hand luxury goods, and at the same time learned how consumers’ purchase behavior is shaped by a good’s perceived value. The factors under consideration included the purchase intention orientation, commodity quality orientation, market cycle orientation, consumption value orientation, individual condition orientation, and environmental sustainability orientation.
With the development of autonomous driving technology and the internet, automotive human–machine interface (HMI) technology has become an important part of contemporary automotive design. Currently, ...global automakers are designing a variety of innovative in-car HMIs that illustrate the direction of automotive design in the new era from the perspective of technological aesthetics and experience design. However, sleek designs and innovative experience methods must be built on the basis of safety. Therefore, it is necessary to summarize existing research in the field of automotive HMI and construct a literature review of automotive design research. In this paper, literature on automotive HMI from the Scopus database was analyzed using bibliometric methods such as descriptive analysis, keyword co-occurrence, and literature co-citation network analysis. The final mapping analysis revealed that the current automotive HMI research literature primarily focuses on user research, interface research, external environment research, and technology implementation research related to automotive HMI. The three main stages of automotive HMI research include conceptual construction, system and technology refinement, and user perception research from the perspective of driver assistance and information recognition. Additionally, burst detection suggests that future research should focus on driver assistance, trust levels, and e-HMI information communication.
With rapid technology developments and the convenient and fast pace of life in recent years, many people are using disposable products, which cause environmental and ecological damages. A variety of ...eco-friendly menstrual products have been launched on the market, and “menstrual pads” now have a large market share in Taiwan’s menstrual product industry. This study interviewed experts and collected questionnaires for qualitative and quantitative investigation and analysis. The results show that women have positive and open concepts regarding sustainability, as well as a good understanding of their body and are very interested in the performance and usage efficiency of products. The results also indicate that consumers purchase based on their lifestyles; most women collected enough product information before purchasing while overcoming the difficulties in dealing with the environment and learning to adapt them, and the majority of consumers attach importance to comfort, volume, and duration of blood absorption. The results suggest that the government and private enterprises should increase and improve sanitation education and sanitary facilities and guide the approach and serve as an important reference index for the promotion of eco-friendly menstrual products for environmental benefits.
Social innovation leads to more diverse methods for design education, which helps design education response to social trends and needs. Social change has brought about the transformation of teaching ...objects for design education courses, which can provide the public with more opportunities to recognise and understand design. Through the introduction of the ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) model in teaching design pattern through social innovation, this paper explores the system design construction of a design education course. Using the teaching practice for the course “Three-dimensional Composition” in the product design major at Tianjin University of Technology as an example and relying on a process of analysing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating, this paper launches a design plan for design education courses. Students’ learning satisfaction is used to measure the course design, and the latest course works of applied research results in 2020 will be displayed to show students’ self-confidence and satisfaction after class. The research described in this paper attempts to construct the teaching design of design courses based on the ADDIE model. It is intended to analyse the multi-dimensional connection of design education: meeting the expectations of college students seeking to acquire design knowledge and social experience, cultivating students’ interest, and enhancing their design achievement and confidence. Moreover, this paper seeks to shed light on ways to reform design course teaching so that the design education results are more in line with the needs and expectations of the times and society.

With fashionable clothes as the products for renting, ...this study helps relevant enterprises understand the factors influencing consumers’ adoption of renting and their attitude and behavioral intention towards clothes renting. Taking the theory of planned behavior as the theoretical foundation, this study thus adopts the technology acceptance model (TAM), the innovation diffusion theory (IDT), the structural equation model (SEM), and the collected information to develop a research methodology that is both theoretical and practical. According to the research results, compatibility matters the most in driving consumers to have a positive assessment and perception of online clothes renting in terms of behavior and attitude. Additionally, personal innovativeness has significant effects and can help relevant enterprises find their target markets. In terms of subjective norm, interpersonal relationship also has a significant influence, showing that consumers today pay much more attention to friends’ information sources. The self-efficacy of the perceived behavioral control also has a noticeable impact. Therefore, relevant enterprises need to consider the operability of online clothes renting to prevent consumers from feeling frustrated in their ability to use it, thus reducing their use intention.
