Three new complex compounds of general formula Zn{4-ClC6H3-2-(OH)COO}2⋅L2⋅nH2O (where L=thiourea (tu), nicotinamide (nam), caffeine (caf), n=2,3), were prepared and characterized by chemical ...analysis, IR spectroscopy and their thermal properties were studied by TG/DTG, DTA methods. It was found that the thermal decomposition of hydrated compounds starts with the release of water molecules. During the thermal decomposition of anhydrous compounds the release of organic ligands take place followed by the decomposition of salicylate anion. Zinc oxide was found as the final product of the thermal decomposition performed up to 650 deg C. RTG powder diffraction method, IR spectra and chemical analysis were used for the determination of products of the thermal decomposition.
Shape memory alloys (SMAs) are a group of metallic alloys that recover to their original form after deformation. Shape memory effect (SME) is characterized by diffusion-less transition between two ...phases: austenite and martensite 1. Up to date, the Heusler alloy with chemical composition Ni-Mn-Ga (near to stoichiometry 2:1:1) is one of the prototype of SMA 2. This alloy is known for its large recoverable deformation up to 12% strain and high-frequency response (up to 1 kHz) induced by magnetic or mechanical loadings. However, in spite of its remarkable properties, Ni 2 MnGa has some drawbacks originating from the loss of Mn, relatively low Curie and martensitic transformation temperatures etc. 3. Therefore, it is necessary to develop new alloy systems to overcome such a disadvantage. Alternatively, Ni 2 FeGa alloy have been proposed as promising magnetic shape memory alloy. Taylor-Ulitovsky method for production of glass-coated microwires allows easy production of few kilometres of high quality monocrystalline wire along entire length with well oriented crystallographic axis. It is shown that such wire is characterized by temperature induced shape memory effect accompanied by ~2% reversible strain. As a result of different anisotropy of both low- and high- temperature phase, such strain is accompanied by huge variation of permeability. In the given contribution we show how magnetic parameters must be adjusted in order to achieve up to 1600% change of permeability due to the phase transition. Such variation allows us to control straining very precisely, which transforms the microwires into the SMART shape memory actuators. This work was supported by APVV-16-0079.
The structure of the title compound, C5H6N5+·ClO4−·C5H5N5·2H2O, contains both an adeninium cation (AdeH+) and an adenine molecule (Ade). As a result of the protonation, the C—N—C angle at the ...protonated N atom is larger by 4° than the corresponding angle in the neutral adenine molecule. The crystal packing is governed by classical hydrogen bonds, connecting the Ade and AdeH+ moieties in the crystallographic 101 direction. In addition, AdeH+ and Ade form hydrogen bonds with the water molecules. These hydrogen bonds increase the dimensionality of the system to three‐dimensional space. The water molecules are connected to each other by hydrogen bonds in the 001 direction.

Local products highly contribute to the identity of certain settlements or regions, as they are based on local raw materials, local environmental resources, local labour force. The study introduces ...the results of a research carried out In the West-Transdanubian region in Hungary on regional values and local products. We have found that most of the interviewees were unaware of environmental issues, agricultural production or local food processing in the region. An innovative and interactive educational method of Rural Action Learning (RAL) has been applied to increase the educational level of both young and old with the objective to acknowledge and utilise the economical and social potentials (incl. rural identity) of the region. The research also covered the investigations of sales channels characteristic to the sales of local products. The study introduces a goat farm in more details, where the from-the-farm sales method is widely used. The production, marketing and sales of local products increase competitiveness in rural areas, but only if local products are imbedded in the actual practise and applied tools of multifunctional agriculture, integrated rural- and regional development.
