The object of this study is supercritical carbon dioxide extraction of flax seed oil (Linum usitatissimum L.) at the pressures of 30, 40 and 50 MPa, temperatures of 47 and 52 deg C, extraction time ...of 4 h, special flows of solvent of 8.8 kg/(kg h), and particle size fractions of grinding material of 0.16–0.315, 0.315–0.80 and 0.80–2.00 mm. Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of the flax seed oil on the laboratory scale, with the special interest in the influence of the extraction pressure, temperature, extraction time, and grinding of ground material on the overall yield of the flax seed oil was investigated. Experimental results of the oil yields were compared with the data obtained by the mathematical model of Hong et al. I.K. Hong, S.W. Rho, K.S. Lee, K.P. Yoo, Korean J. Chem. Eng. 7 (1990) 40, presented in the literature.
Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) is an acquired, prothrombotic disorder, caused by antibodies to a complex of heparin and platelet factor 4 (PF4) that activates platelets, resulting in the ...release of procoagulant microparticles, thrombocytopenia occurrence, generation of thrombin, and frequent thromboses.
We present a case of severe HIT in a 68-year-old female, which occurred after cardiosurgery of the left atrial myxoma with the aim to point out the importance of differential diagnosis of thrombocytopenia in patients recently exposed to heparin. Platelet count dropped on the eleventh postoperative day, six days after unfractioned heparin and enoxaparine threatment, to 4x10(9)/I.The correct diagnosis failed to be made at first. Since thrombocytopenia remained refractory to a corticosteroid treatment and platelet transfusion, the patient was hospitalized on the 13th postoperative day at the Institute of Haematology. The diagnosis of HIT was confirmed with the high-probability clinical score (4T's) and strongly positive anti-heparin-PF4 (PaGIA) test as well as positive platelet aggregation test. The treatment started with a smaller therapeutic doses of danaparoid than recommended of 750 U intravenous bolus and was followed by continuous infusions of 100 U per 1 h and intravenous gammaglobulins in full dosage for four days. The platelet count started to rise on the third day and it was completely normalized on the 5th day of the therapy.
Treatment of severe HIT with small doses of danaparoid supplemented by intravenous gamma globulin was successful. Additional awareness of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia is needed, especially of HIT in differential diagnosis of thrombocytopenia in patients recently exposed to heparin.
PATH (Performance Assessment Tool for Quality Improvement in Hospitals), a project of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Europe offers hospitals a comprehensive and standardized tool (a set of ...indicators) to evaluate their own performance and development of measures for quality improvement. PATH Program was launched in Croatia in 2008, and it was conducted in 2009 in hospitals that have voluntarily decided to be involved. Here we present the results of the first phase of pilot experience of establishing the program, based on data collected in 22 Croatian hospitals. Analysis of the first results indicated the existence of marked differences among the hospitals that have taken the example of the percentage of cesarean sections ranging from 1.1% to 21.4%. The mortality rate of myocardial infarction ranged from 1.9 to 21.4%, while the mortality of stroke ranged from 12.5 to 45.5%. The highest percentage of needle-stick injuries reported for physicians was 16.2% of entire hospital staff in one year, 6.1% for nurses and 4.6% for the supportive staff. The result suggests the existence of many problems and limitations in data collection at hospital level, limitations in their analysis and creates recommendations for quality improvements, which must be taken into account when hospitals are compared on the national or international level.

This paper proposes the system for ship outfitting support based on the augmented reality. Considering the practical applicability of the elaborated procedure as the highest priority, the intention ...was to develop a sufficiently robust method for model registration that could be applied in extremely demanding environments such as the interior of the ship during construction. The approach presented in this paper is based on QR markers consisting the code value of the model from the database thus enabling the interactive mapping between the CAD 3D model, reality and digitized technical documentation The application has been developed in Unity 3D game engine and shows promising potential to support interactive ship outfitting procedures during construction in the shipyard.
U ovom se radu ispituje distribucija različitih kategorija samoispravljanja te omjeri samoispravljanja i pogrešaka. Zvučni zapis u trajanju od gotovo osam sati transkribiran je na uzorku od 101-og ...ispitanika, studenata Fakulteta elektrotehnike, strojarstva i brodogradnje u Splitu. Zabilježeno je preko tisuću samoispravljanja koja su raspoređena u različite kategorije. Klasifikacija samoispravljanja temelji se na Leveltovu modelu govorne proizvodnje, kao empirijski najbolje potvrđenom modelu za monolingvalno procesiranje govora. Studenti su individualno ispitani tako da su ispunili pet govornih zadataka, a njihovi su odgovori auditivno snimljeni. Zadaci uključuju: a) prepričavanje radnje crtanog filma; b) opis slike prostorije; c) opis slike prostorije s drugačijim rasporedom namještaja u odnosu na prethodni zadatak; d) oblikovanje rečenica na temelju slika predmeta i e) oblikovanje priče na temelju predloženog niza slika. Apsolutnu većinu čine samoispravljanja pogrešaka, pri čemu su dominantne kategorije sintaktička i leksička samoispravljanja. Dominacija samoispravljanja pogrešaka nad samoispravljanjima neprikladnog izričaja može se protumačiti činjenicom da bi neispravljanje pogrešaka moglo ozbiljnije ugroziti razumijevanje poruke, dok se samoispravljanjima neprikladnog izričaja dorađuje obavijesni sadržaj iskaza i povećava se njegova informativnost. Samoispravljanja neprikladnog izričaja i samoispravljanja različitom informacijom pojedinačno ne prelaze jednu petinu od ukupnog broja samoispravljanja. Omjeri samoispravljanja i pogrešaka ukazuju da se natpolovična većina pogrešaka ispravlja, pri čemu se fonološke i leksičke pogreške uvjerljivom većinom samoispravljaju, što upućuje na veću osjetljivost monitora na sadržajne riječi, dok se morfološke i sintaktičke pogreške približno polovično samoispravljaju. Veća učestalost ispravljanja leksičkih pogrešaka može se objasniti njihovom informativnom važnošću, dok je kod fonoloških samoispravljanja prisutan kraći mentalni put i veća automatiziranost pri ispravljanju.

This paper investigates the distribution of different categories of self-repairs and self-repair/error ratios. A recorded speech sample lasting for approximately eight hours has been transcribed on a ...speech sample of 101 students at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split. Over one thousand self-repairs have been recorded and classified. The classification of self-repairs is based on Levelt's model of speech production, as the empirically best supported theory of monolingual speech processing. Students have been individually tested by performing five speech tasks: a) story narration, b) room description, c) room description with different furniture arrangement compared to the previous task, d) utterance formulation based on pictures and e) story telling based on a sequence of pictures. The predominance of error corrections over appropriacy repairs can be explained by the fact that incorrected errors can seriously affect the understanding of an utterance, whereas appropriacy repairs enrich the propositional content of the utterance, making it more informative. Moreover, appropriacy repairs and different information repairs do not exceed one fifth of the total number of repairs, respectively. Self-repair/error ratios show that the majority of errors is corrected, whereby phonological and lexical errors are convincingly more often repaired, which points to a higher sensitivity of the monitor towards content words. Furthermore, morphological and syntactic errors are approximately half self-repaired. A higher frequency of lexical error-repairs can be explained by their informative importance, whereas phonological self-repairs are a result of a shorter mental route and higher degree of self-repair automatization. PATH (Performance Assessment Tool for Quality Improvement in Hospitals), projekt Regionalnog ureda Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (SZO) za Europu pruža bolnicama sveobuhvatan i standardiziran alat ...za vrednovanje vlastitih rezultata i razvoj mjera za unapređenje kvalitete. Program PATH pokrenut je 2008. godine i u Hrvatskoj, a od 2009. godine provodi se u bolnicama koje su se dobrovoljno odlučile u njega uključiti. U ovom radu prikazujemo prva iskustva probne faze uspostavljanja programa PATH, utemeljena na podacima koji su prikupljani u 22 hrvatske bolnice. Analiza prvih rezultata upozorila je na postojanje izraženih razlika među bolnicama, koje su se na primjeru postotka carskih rezova kretale od najmanje 1,1% do najviše 21,4% zabilježenih carskih rezova u pojedinim bolnicama tijekom razdoblja prikupljanja podataka. Stopa smrtnosti infarkta miokarda kretala se od 1,9 do 21,4%, dok se smrtnost moždanog udara kretala od 12,5 do 45,5%. Najviši postotak prijavljenih ubodnih ozljeda za liječnike iznosio je 16,2% osoblja tijekom jedne godine, 6,1% za medicinske sestre i 4,6% za spremačice. Ovo istraživanje upućuje na postojanje mnogih problema i ograničenja u prikupljanju pokazatelja na bolničkoj razini, njihovoj analizi i stvaranju preporuka za unapređenje kvalitete koje se moraju uzeti u obzir prilikom usporedbe bolnica na nacionalnoj ili međunarodnoj razini.
This paper deals with the influence of Mg, N and the content of chlorophylls and carotenoids on photosynthetic productivity of two new genotypes of winter wheat, Lara and Perla, at two localities, ...Donji Miholjac and Kutjevo, during the vegetation periods 1997/1998 and 1998/1999. The applied parameters were determined by standard methods. The results showed effects of Mg concentration on all examined parameters with the exception of chlorophyll b content. The highest correlation coefficient was with the N concentration, significant correlation between the leaf area and N concentrations and between the leaf area and chlorophyll a. Statistical analysis showed very significant relationship between the content of organic matter and examined parameters with a large number of significant correlations. The most important correlation was found between the content of organic matter and N concentration, and between chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, carotenoids and the content of organic matter. The link between N, Mg and other examined parameters was firm and significant as well as under strong influence of external factors.
