This paper is devoted to the modal analysis and buckling of a stiffened plate with simple supported conditions within the framework of shell theory. The main objective of the finite element analysis ...is to investigate the natural frequencies of this stiffened structure subjected to uniaxial compression on two opposite edges of the plate. In this study, the numerical analysis is performed for such a design of the stiffed plate which has already been optimized for uniaxial compression, some design variables and the cost of welding, and the objective function to be minimized is defined as the material cost. The various Young’s modulus of the base plate and the stiffeners are given thus assuming that the plate parts (the base plate and ribs) were made of different steel materials.
In this study, the fatigue usage factors for Findley and Matake stress-based criteria were determined in the case of an MK5×2 mine hoist drum brake system subjected to cyclic maneuver braking. The ...study was conducted for this type of brake system, because the majority of mine hoists in Romanian mines are equipped with this brake type, being in operation for several decades. A geometric model of the brake was built using SolidWorks and imported in COMSOL Multiphysics to perform thermo-mechanical simulations. Based on the deformations and von Mises stresses determined by the thermomechanical simulation and, considering the calculated endurance limits of the brake system materials, Matake and Findley fatigue life evaluation simulations from COMSOL’s fatigue module were conducted. The results show that the highest fatigue is expected on the drum lining surface towards the exit point from under the brake shoe in both cases, and the values of the usage factor of 0.307 (Findley) and 0.401 (Matake) are both under the critical value 1, meaning that the stress limit has not been exceeded for the brake system components and, thus, failure is not expected. Simulations were conducted considering an estimated 1.06 × 105 cycles during one year, more than both the usual service/replacement interval of the friction components of the brake, and the period of mandatory technical inspections imposed by regulations.
A recently completed research focused on the development of a low-volume mining production and transportation prototype machine. By developing this new mining adapter, the number of machines used in ...the mine can be reduced. Its application in dimensional stone mining can reduce the expenses of mining companies. After the block stone has been cut around, the stone material can be moved with the machine. The cutting forces and power requirements are calculated for the chain speeds used in production. This paper shows the static stress analysis of two kinds of possible structures of the dimension stone mining adapter. Finite element analysis was used to determine the displacements and the effective stress distribution of the adapter.
In this paper, János Sziveri’s poetry is studied from the perspective of associative plays based on matter-grouping and landscape visions. There was a productive correspondence, as the poet himself ...underlined it, between him and Vasko Popa’s works. The consonance between the book plans and the cycles of poems by Vasko Popa dedicated to the decom- position and recomposition of different matters and remains and the series of Sziveri’s texts are secured by the stock of biological limitations and tactile sensations. The processes of focusing on different bodies and moving from body to body and the excess of neuro- transmission as well as the desire for gratification are most efficiently distributed by the singular or plural first person. The Vasko Popa-esque radiation of life conditions extending beyond instrumentalized functioning and existence based on imitation echoes in Sziveri’s landscape descriptions by intensifying the creative potential of fixed stance and mobility.
The antipoetics and the cyclical planning of the texts of the Serbian author with some Ro- manian ancestors in his family tree were properly cultivated and elevated by his Hungarian- speaking companion.
Francis Ponge’s art can be considered as their literary precursor. Almost anything that can be told about water, fauna, flora, and the natural cycle, about the sea, shells, snails, pebbles, bones, and oranges, is told in
Le parti pris des choses
(1942), Ponge’s prose-poem cycle, which prevailed in the works of the well-informed Vasko Popa and, through Popa, in Sziveri’s texts as well.
Sziveri’s criticism of targeting the patterns of social viability of South-Eastern Euro- pean repressive practices and collective false consciousness drowning in platitudes is ac- companied by topographic scenery and ethnic diversity which accumulated landscape sur- faces, fragments, and neighbourhoods framed by the Danube, Tisza, and Bega rivers as the scenes of geospecific identity. Comparing existential calculations, describing the shrinking of an ill body – these can be considered as a perceptual Pannonism of a subject observing and recording its direct impressions precisely and accurately.
Clinging onto the love of life, self-defence supplied by background knowledge about the countryside – as if all these were representing the escapist way of hiding, disguise, and diversion. Being doomed to live as an outcast, as a result of the status quo of regional co- existence officially prescribing homogeneity and of institutionalized incitement of feud, seems to be a dead certain conditioning of life. His attitude against any kind of quailing, his manner of shrugging off or making fun of regional fixed ideas and minority melodramas, bodily and linguistic ‘Babylonization’ coalesce into a polyphonic credo of a poet standing in the shade of wrecking and falling apart.

This paper briefly outlines the design of replaceable cutting teeth of bucket chain excavator, which are attached to a holder with a detachable joint. The description of the rock cutting process is ...very complex, so the investigation of the effect of lateral forces is complicated through cutting tests. We use accordingly numerical analysis to examine some segments of the cutting process. Our main objective is to present the finite element analysis of cutting teeth in which the linear increase of the lateral force is taken into consideration. The finite element analysis is a powerful technique, which is enabled to compute the stress and displacement distribution in cutting teeth. The simulation results have shown that the maximum stresses decrease if the lateral force increases. The geometry of the optimized cutting teeth will be safe under the given loading conditions.
The paper deals with the development of a dimensional rock sawing machine to optimize the production of small-volume dimensional stone products in limestone quarries by re-thinking the use of ...production and transport equipment. A low-volume mining production and transportation adapter to be developed for both production and transport can reduce the number of mining machines to be used in the mine. After cutting around the block stone, the rock material can be moved with the help of the machine. Cutting tests were performed to determine the winning properties of the limestone. The first objective of the paper was to calculate the cutting forces and cutting powers and eliminate the failure possibilities and vibrations. In this study, the eigenvalue extraction used to calculate the natural frequencies and mode shapes was based on the Lanczos iteration methods using the Abaqus software to identify any potentially dangerous frequencies. By taking the load cases from modelling of the extraction of limestone and the transport of block stones, the deformation and strength properties of the adapter were also examined using FE analysis for stress/displacement analysis. Drawing the conclusion from finite element analysis, the construction of the adapter can be developed and checked. The results can be used with great confidence, so the main dimensions of the concept serve as the basis for the dimensions of the adapter.
