Energy monitoring for specific home appliances has been regarded as the pre-requisite for reducing residential energy consumption. To enhance the accuracy of identifying operation status of household ...appliances and to keep pace with the development of smart power grid, this paper puts forward the integration of electric current and power data on the basis of existing algorithm. If average power difference of several adjacent cycles varies from the baseline and goes beyond the pre-assigned threshold value, the event will be flagged. Based on MATLAB platform and domestic appliances simulations, the results of tested data and verified algorithm indicate that the power method has accomplished desired results of appliance identification.
In recent years, the research on implantable medical devices has become a hot scientific topic, and the power supply of these devices are especially concerned. Generally, these devices are usually ...powered by disposable batteries. However, for some of the long-term human implant devices, such as pacemakers, once the battery has been exhausted after several years, the patient has to replace the battery by surgery, which increases the patient's economic burden and pain. Wireless power transfer technology, using non-contact way for power transfer, can be a good solution to this problem. In this paper, a micro induction coil was designed, and the transfer efficiency in the air and human tissue model of two-layers were simulated by Ansoft HFSS. The results showed that the system could achieve the energy transfer in both cases, meanwhile, it indicated that the transfer efficiency was lower in a relative larger permittivity of transmission medium.
It was reported that eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) could prevent tubulointerstitial injury in kidney. EPA could also inhibit the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of HK-2 cells stimulated by ...albumin (Alb)
. However, the regulating molecular mechanism of EPA remains to be elucidated.
An immortalized human proximal tubular cell line (human kidney-2 (HK-2) cells) was used in all experiments. MTT assay was employed to determine the effect of Alb or EPA on the cell viability of HK-2 cells. The miR-541 expression, the mRNA levels of EMT markers E-cadherin, α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), and fibrogenesis markers Collagen I and fibronectin (FN) were examined by RT-qPCR assay. The protein levels of E-cadherin, α-SMA and Collagen I, transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1)/Smad3/integrin-linked kinase (ILK) pathway-related protein TGF-β1, pSmad2/3, Smad7 and ILK were measured by western blot. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was performed to detect FN expression. The target relationship between miR-541 and TGF-β1 was confirmed by bioinformatics, luciferase reporter assay and western blot.
Low doses of Alb had no effect on the cell viability of HK-2 cells, while EPA repressed the cell viability of HK-2 cells in a concentration-dependent manner. EPA could inhibit EMT and fibrosis and increase the miR-541 expression of HK-2 cells exposed to Alb. Interestingly, introduction of miR-541 effectively abolished the EMT and fibrosis of HK-2 cells stimulated by Alb. Bioinformatics analysis predicted TGF-β1 as a target gene of miR-541, and subsequent luciferase reporter assay and western blot further supported the prediction. miR-541 counter-regulated TGF-β1 expression, and inhibited the TGF-β1/Smad3/ILK pathway. Alb treatment activated the TGF-β1/Smad3/ILK pathway, while EPA inhibited the activation of the pathway. miR-541 inhibitors reversed the effects of EPA on EMT, fibrosis, and TGF-β1/Smad3/ILK pathway-related protein expression induced by Alb.
EPA attenuates EMT and renal fibrosis through the TGF-β1/Smad3/ILK pathway in renal epithelial cells by targeting miR-541.
Differential privacy (DP) is a promising scheme for releasing the results of statistical queries on sensitive data. This paper focuses on top-k frequent columns publication on sensitive data, with ...high result utility under differential privacy. Existing works directly select frequent columns from all columns (called one-phase scheme), which is far from ideal due to the large privacy consumption or misjudgments for columns with frequencies close to the frequency of the k th frequent column (called near-k-fluctuation-column). This paper presents a new solution Two Phase Selection (TPS) to carefully choose frequent columns in two phases. The main idea is to classify columns into two distinct categories based on whether it is one near-k-fluctuation-column or not. Frequent columns are chosen from the two categories using different techniques, which is totally different from existing solutions without classifying. Furthermore, by analyzing the distribution of near-k-fluctuation-columns, we introduce a block-centric column-choosing method privacy-free-mechanism (PFM). By partitioning columns into blocks, PFM makes the privacy consumption proportional to the number of blocks, instead of frequent columns. Extensive experiments on real datasets show that our proposals outperform the state-of-the-art techniques for top-k column publication.
Seafood safety is widely concerned. Traceability of seafood solves the people's concerns about food quality. Traceability needs to collect information operating on this seafood of every stage during ...processing. This article presents a traceability system from seafood breading, processing and sales logistics. Based on this system, advanced technology is adopted to ensures its efficiency and improve the management of information flow within the supply chain and security in the seafood sector. The combination of QRcode, RFID(Radio Frequency Identification), barcode and image preprocessing enhances accuracy and efficiency of operation and information collection.
In this paper, we investigate the system performance of a multi-cell multi-user (MU) hybrid millimeter wave (mmWave) multiple-input multiple- output (MIMO) network adopting the channel estimation ...algorithm proposed in 1 for channel estimation. Due to the reuse of orthogonal pilot symbols among different cells, the channel estimation is expected to be affected by pilot contamination, which is considered as a fundamental performance bottleneck of conventional multicell MU massive MIMO networks. To analyze the impact of pilot contamination on the system performance, we derive the closed-form approximation expression of the normalized mean squared error (MSE) of the channel estimation performance. Our analytical and simulation results show that the channel estimation error incurred by the impact of pilot contamination and noise vanishes asymptotically with an increasing number of antennas equipped at each radio frequency (RF) chain deployed at the desired BS. Thus, pilot contamination is no longer the fundamental problem for multi-cell hybrid mmWave systems.
In this paper, the class of total asymptotically nonexpansive mappings is considered. A weak convergence theorem of Mann-type iterative algorithm is established. Hybrid projection methods are ...considered for the class of total asymptotically nonexpansive mappings. Strong convergence theorems are also established in the framework of Hilbert spaces.
This paper solves the problem of the excessive memory footprint and the slow speed of parsing when using the DOM method to parse the XML data. As we know the current XML parsing technology is the key ...of XML research field and now there are a lot of XML parsers, their works plays a significant role in promoting XML parsing, but failed to achieve a good balance in the analysis of both time and memory usage. We propose a hash function based on the XML parser, for evaluating the memory consumption. We have demonstrated the text part of delay spread in terms of the time consumption, using a hash function. Our testing results show that, compared with the traditional method, the memory footprint reduced by 5% and the analytical efficiency increased by 3%.
We investigate, for the first time, the expansion of resistive random access memory (ReRAM) conductive filaments during pulse cycles, which may cause retention failure after cycling endurance. We ...find that filament size becomes larger gradually because of oxygen diffusion from the region surrounding a filament during reset operations. To achieve long-term use of ReRAM while avoiding filament expansion, it is the key to control both an electric power and a pulsewidth input at a switching operation. We successfully demonstrate good data retention even after endurance of 100-k cycles with an optimized reset pulse.
On any compact Riemann surface there always exists a singular non-CSC
(constant scalar curvature) extremal K$\ddot{a}$hler metric which is called a
non-CSC HCMU (the Hessian of the Curvature of the ...Metric is Umbilical) metric.
In this paper, by moving frames, we show that any non-CSC HCMU metric can not
be isometrically minimal immersed into 3-dimensional real space forms even
locally. In general, any non-CSC HCMU metric can not be isometrically immersed
into 3-dimensional real space forms with constant mean curvature (CMC).
