In this study, we investigate the existence and multiplicity of solutions for a fractional discrete p−Laplacian equation on Z. Under suitable hypotheses on the potential function V and the ...nonlinearity f, with the aid of Ekeland’s variational principle, via mountain pass lemma, we obtain that this equation exists at least two nonnegative and nontrivial homoclinic solutions when the real parameter λ>0 is large enough.
This paper proposes a dual inductor-capacitor (LC) circuit integrated wireless and passive force and temperature sensor for the simultaneous measurement of force and temperature in high-temperature ...environments. The sensor is fabricated by a two-step process: the preparation of the Al2O3 substrate and the fabrication of the dual LC sensor with Ag paste using screen-printing technology and metallization. The variation in ambient force and temperature can be detected wirelessly by extracting the resonant frequencies of the antenna. The sensor can work in the force range of 0–10 N and temperature range of 25–500 °C with a maximum force sensitivity of 107 kHz/N at 500 °C and temperature sensitivity of 21.7 kHz/°C. To precisely measure the force, the temperature compensation method is proposed. The sensor has the advantages of low cost, simple fabrication and test, and high stability and repeatability, which are promising for the force and temperature application on the engine turbine blade in high-temperature environments.
Irisin is a newly discovered myokine which can relieve metabolic disorders and resist atherosclerosis. The effects of irisin on ox-LDL-induced macrophage apoptosis and endoplasmic reticulum ...stress-related pathways were observed in vitro. RAW264.7 macrophages were cultured in vitro and pretreated with irisin at 20, 40 and 80ng/ml for 30min, followed by culture with 100mg/L ox-LDL and 5mg/L tunicamycin (TM) for 12h. The cell viability and apoptosis were detected by MTT assay and annexin V-FITC double staining. The nuclear translocation of activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) was detected by immunofluorescence assay. Western blot was used to detect the expressions of p-PERK, p-eIF2α, C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP) and Bcl-2. Irisin reduced lipid accumulation in macrophages in a concentration-dependent pattern and significantly inhibited apoptosis induced by ox-LDL and TM. Compared with ox-LDL and TM groups, the expressions of CHOP, p-PERK and p-eIF2α in the irisin group significantly decreased, the translocation of ATF6 from cytoplasm to nucleus was significantly weakened, and Bcl-2 expression significantly increased. Irisin can alleviate the apoptosis of macrophages induced by ox-LDL, which may be achieved by inhibiting the PERK/eIF2α/CHOP and ATF6/CHOP endoplasmic reticulum stress signaling pathways.
The self-diffusion model of Lennard-Jones fluid confined in a nanoscale space is developed by using equilibrium molecular dynamics simulation. The radial distribution function in free and confined ...space is evaluated and compared to analyze the fluid microstructure. The effects of the confined scale, strength of the fluid–solid coupling and commensurability of wall and fluid density on the fluid self-diffusion are investigated and discussed. The results indicate that the confined scale, fluid–solid coupling strength and commensurability of wall and fluid density play considerable role in the self-diffusion coefficient for the fluid confined in nanoscale space. Decrease in the confined scale lead to large portion of fluid molecules ‘feel’ the wall interaction, which results in the reduction of self-diffusion coefficient. In addition, the reduction of fluid self-diffusion coefficient in confined space is also demonstrated when the wall and fluid densities are incommensurate and wall–fluid coupling strength is large.
Atherosclerosis (AS) is closely associated with abnormally chronic low-grade inflammation and gut dysbiosis. Flaxseed oil (FO) rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), which are mainly ...composed of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, 18:3 omega-3), has been demonstrated to exhibit pleiotropic benefits in chronic metabolic diseases. However, the impact of dietary ALA-rich FO on AS and its associated underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Thus, the present study was designed as two phases to investigate the effects in atherosclerotic
(
)
mice. In the initial portion, the
mice were randomly allocated to three groups: control group (CON), model group (MOD), and FO-fed model group (MOD/FO) and were treated for 12 weeks. The second phase used antibiotic (AB)-treated
mice were divided into two groups: AB-treated model group (AB/MOD) and FO-fed AB-treated model group (AB/FO). In the results, the dietary ALA-rich FO administration ameliorated atherosclerotic lesion, as well as the parameters of AS (body weights (BWs) and the total bile acids (TBA). Chronic systemic/vascular inflammatory cytokines and
macrophages (Mψs) were reduced with FO intervention. In addition, the FO improved the gut integrity and permeability by decreasing the plasma lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Moreover, gut dysbiosis and metabolites short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and bile acids (BAs) in AS were modulated after FO treatment. Intriguingly, during an AB-treated condition, a significantly weakened amelioration of FO-treated on AS proposed that the intestinal microbiota contributed to the FO effects. A correlation analysis showed close relationships among gut bacteria, metabolites, and inflammation. Collectively, these results suggested that the dietary ALA-rich FO ameliorated the AS in
mice
the gut microbiota-inflammation-artery axis.
This paper is concerned with an elliptic system of Kirchhoff type, driven by the variable-order fractional px-operator. With the help of the direct variational method and Ekeland variational ...principle, we show the existence of a weak solution. This is our first attempt to study this kind of system, in the case of variable-order fractional variable exponents. Our main theorem extends in several directions previous results.
In this paper, a novel combinational access topology of Tunnel FET (TFET) SRAM is proposed for ultra-Low Power applications. Since forward p-i-n current of TFET could cause serious damage to SRAM ...circuit performance, the proposed topology can avoid the forward bias applied to the p-i-n junction, thus increasing SRAM cell read and hold static noise margin (SNM) and decreasing its static power consumption dramatically. At 0.6 V supply voltage, the combinational access TFET SRAM topology presents 26% hold SNM larger than traditional TFET SRAM topologies, 8 orders of magnitude lower static power consumption, and 2 order of magnitude lower power delay product, demonstrating its great potential for ultra-low power applications.
Background
microRNAs, which expound the transcriptional regulation of gene expression, have been validated as prognostic markers in many tumors. The deregulated expression of microRNAs has been shown ...to aid classification of tumors and predict outcome in many tumors including breast PTs. The aim of our study is to investigate the clinical significance and prognostic value of microRNAs in PTs to identify a biomarker which has the potential for predicting prognosis and target therapy.
Methods
Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the expression level of microRNA20b in 123 breast PTs patients. The correlations between the expression of microRNA20b and clinicopathological parameters were investigated. The prognostic significance of microRNA20b was investigated by the Kaplan–Meier survival and Cox proportional hazards regression model.
Results
The expression level of microRNA20b increased with the increase in the tumor grade (
p
< 0.05). High expression of microRNA20b correlated with stromal overgrowth, marked stromal cellularity, high atypia of stromal cells, infiltrative tumor margin, high mitotic activity, tumor grade, local recurrence and metastasis (
p
< 0.05). High expression of microRNA20b correlated with the shorter disease-free survival (DFS) (log-rank test,
p
< 0.001). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that microRNA20b was an independent prognostic indicator for breast PTs patients.
Conclusion
The study demonstrated the promising potential of applying microRNA20b as a prognostic biomarker in PT patients.
For the first time, an analytic surface-field-based model for nanowire MOSFETs with random dopant fluctuations (RDF) is reported. In this model, the depletion charge due to the discrete dopant ...distribution is described by the Dirac δ functions, while the mobile charge keeps its continuous form. By introducing two new variables, the discrete 1-D Poisson's equation is transformed into a simple algebraic equation to correlate the surface potential with the field (due to the inversion charge). Without solving the potential distribution, the drain current can be calculated from the Pao-Sah integral using the oxide-interface boundary condition. This model is shown to be more accurate in predicting the RDF effects than the continuous TCAD simulations for all the operating regions. We also discuss the RDF-incorporated short-channel effects by solving the discrete 2-D Poisson's equation in the subthreshold regime.
