Resumen: Introducción La artritis reumatoide (AR) es una patología altamente vulnerable al COVID-19, factor que condujo a la implementación de la atención por teleasistencia; Objetivos; Comprender ...las experiencias de los pacientes con AR y los profesionales frente a la implementación de un modelo de consulta multidisciplinaria no presencial, en la emergencia sanitaria por la COVID-19. Métodos Estudio cualitativo descriptivo exploratorio. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas y se analizó siguiendo la propuesta de Taylor-Bogdan; Resultados Se realizaron 27 entrevistas, emergieron 4 categorías: Factores presentes en la comunicación, Manejo de las TIC, Apoyo e interacción familiar y Adherencia al tratamiento; Conclusiones. Se identificaron condicionantes sociales, que pueden determinar la pertinencia de la teleconsulta. La implantación de la teleconsulta, debe llevar aparejada la formación de talento humano en salud, la alfabetización digital y la inversión de infraestructura tecnológica.
Hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS) is characterized by acute renal failure, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia and thrombocytopenia.
To describe the characteristics of patients with the diagnosis of HUS ...in Chile, and to identify the most reliable early predictors of morbidity and mortality.
The clinical records of patients with HUS aged less than 15 years, attended between January 1990 and December 2003 in 15 hospitals, were reviewed. Demographic, clinical, biochemical, hematological parameters, morbidity and mortality were analyzed.
A cohort of 587 patients aged 2 to 8 years, 48% males, was analyzed. Ninety two percent had diarrhea. At the moment of diagnosis, anuria was observed in 39% of the patients, hypertension in 45% and seizures in 17%. Forty two percent required renal replacement therapy (RRT) and peritoneal dialysis was used in the majority of cases (78%). The most frequently isolated etiological agent was Escherichia coli. Mortality rate was 2.9% in the acute phase of the disease and there was a positive correlation between mortality and anuria, seizures, white blood cell count (WCC)>20.000/mm3 and requirements of renal replacement therapy (p<0.05). Twelve percent of patients evolved to chronic renal failure and the risk factors during the acute phase were the need for renal replacement therapy, anuria, WCC>20.000/mm3, seizures and hypertension.
The present study emphasizes important clinical and epidemiological aspects of HUS in a Chilean pediatric population.

Se postula que la aprehensión de tal dinámica, permite intervenir rescatando la resiliencia natural de individuos, familias y comunidades, al focalizar la acción en el proceso de cambio, que siendo inherente al desarrollo, es necesario de resignificar para producir un cambio subversivo. Esta comprensión se aplica al trabajo psicosocial comunitario en condiciones de pobreza; presentando, en primer lugar, los fundamentos teóricos y a continuación, los elementos de contexto utilizados para un diagnóstico general, que se ejemplifica en la Región de la Araucanía (Chile), lo que permite proponer un enfoque integrado de investigación-acción para la transformación de realidades humanas acotadas, caracterizadas por un desarrollo obstaculizado.
Alzheimer's disease is the principal cause of dementia throughout the world and the fourth cause of death in developed economies.This brain disorder is characterized by the formation of brain protein ...aggregates, namely, the paired helical filaments and senile plaques. Oxidative stress during life, neuroinflamamtion, and alterations in neuron-glia interaction patterns have been also involved in the etiopathogenesis of this disease. In recent years, cumulative evidence has been gained on the involvement of alteration in neuronal lipoproteins activity, as well as on the role of cholesterol and other lipids in the pathogenesis of this neurodegenerative disorder. In this review, we analyze the links between changes in cholesterol homeostasis, and the changes of lipids of major importance for neuronal activity and Alheimer's disease. The investigation on the fine molecular mechanisms underlying the lipids influence in the etiopathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease may shed light into its treatment and medical management.
