In this work, we study the microwave field driven domain wall (DW) motion in an antiferromagnetic nanowire, using the numerical calculations based on a classical Heisenberg spin model with the ...biaxial magnetic anisotropy. We show that a proper combination of a static magnetic field plus an oscillating field perpendicular to the nanowire axis is sufficient to drive the DW propagation along the nanowire. More importantly, the drift velocity at the resonance frequency is comparable to that induced by temperature gradients, suggesting that microwave field can be a very promising tool to control DW motions in antiferromagnetic nanostructures. The dependences of resonance frequency and drift velocity on the static and oscillating fields, the axial anisotropy, and the damping constant are discussed in details. Furthermore, the optimal orientations of the field are also numerically determined and explained. This work provides useful information for the spin dynamics in antiferromagnetic nanostructures for spintronics applications.
Using the data samples of (1310.6±7.2)×106 J/ψ events and (448.1±2.9)×106 ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector, we search for the rare decays J/ψ→D0e+e−+c.c. and ψ(3686)→D0e+e−+c.c. No ...significant signals are observed and the corresponding upper limits on the branching fractions at the 90% confidence level are determined to be B(J/ψ→D0e+e−+c.c.)<8.5×10−8 and B(ψ(3686)→D0e+e−+c.c.)<1.4×10−7, respectively. Our limit on B(J/ψ→D0e+e−+c.c.) is more stringent by 2 orders of magnitude than the previous results, and B(ψ(3686)→D0e+e−+c.c.) is measured for the first time.
•DS intercalated α-Co(OH)2 is prepared using a simple and efficient co-precipitation method.•The effects of DS and nitrate anions on the supercapacitive properties of α-Co(OH)2 are studied.•α-Co(OH)2 ...studied here can be applied as an efficient electrode materials for supercapacitors.
Dodecyl sulfate and nitrate intercalated α-Co(OH)2 are prepared by a simple co-precipitation and a subsequent anion-exchange method using hexamethylenetetramine as a hydrolysis agent, which have been confirmed by X-ray diffraction and FTIR analysis. Interlayer spacing of α-Co(OH)2 layers for dodecyl sulfate and nitrate intercalated α-Co(OH)2 is determined to be 12.96 and 8Å, respectively. Their supercapacitive properties are measured by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge–discharge tests. The α-Co(OH)2 exhibits a higher specific capacitance and better rate capability after anion exchange from dodecyl sulfate to nitrate with the specific capacitance increasing from 304.4 to 582.7Fg−1 at 1Ag−1.
Using a dedicated data sample taken in 2018 on the J/ψ peak, we perform a detailed study of the trigger efficiencies of the BESIII detector. The efficiencies are determined from three representative ...physics processes, namely Bhabha scattering, dimuon production and generic hadronic events with charged particles. The combined efficiency of all active triggers approaches 100% in most cases, with uncertainties small enough not to affect most physics analyses.
One hundred forty-four 25-d-old weaning piglets with BW of 6.43 ± 0.39 kg were used in a 28-d trail to evaluate the effects of dietary addition of spray-dried chicken plasma (SDCP) as a replacement ...for spray-dried porcine plasma (SDPP) on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, diarrhea incidence, small intestinal morphology, digestive enzyme activity, and microflora. Pigs were randomly allotted to 1 of 4 dietary treatments: 1) CON (control; a basal diet), 2) SDPP (containing 5% SDPP), 3) SDPP + SDCP (containing 2.5% SDPP and 2.5% SDCP), and 4) SDCP (containing 5% SDCP). Six pigs from each treatment were randomly selected to collect serum and intestinal samples. Compared with the CON group, both the SDPP and the SDPP + SDCP groups improved final BW of pigs (P < 0.05), but there were no differences among the SDPP, SDPP + SDCP, and SDCP groups. From d 1 to 14 and d 15 to 28, pigs fed the SDPP and SDPP + SDCP diets had a greater (P < 0.05) ADG than pigs fed the CON diet. During the overall period, both ADG and ADFI of pigs in the SDPP and SDPP + SDCP groups were improved (P < 0.05) compared with pigs in the CON group. Furthermore, pigs fed diets containing SDPP or SDCP had a greater (P < 0.05) apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of CP, ether extract, Ca, and ash and less (P < 0.05) incidence of diarrhea than pigs fed the CON diet. However, no differences were observed for ATTD and diarrhea incidence between the SDPP and SDCP groups. Compared with the CON group, duodenal villus height and the ratio of villi to crypt were increased (P < 0.05) in the SDPP, SDPP + SDCP, and SDCP groups and jejunal crypt depth was decreased in the SDPP + SDCP and SDCP groups (P < 0.05). Pigs in the SDPP group had greater (P < 0.05) activities of amylase, maltase, and trypsin than pigs in the CON group. However, no significant differences were observed between the SDCP and SDPP groups. Additionally, inclusion of SDCP in diet decreased (P < 0.05) the population of Escherichia coli. In conclusion, these results demonstrated that the addition of SDCP in pigs’ diet had an effect similar to SDPP on improving growth performance through the promotion of the small intestinal development, increasing digestive enzymes activities, enhancing ATTD of nutrients, and decreasing diarrhea incidence.
The current study explored the effect of intramuscular injection of vitamin B12 (VB12) in early-lactation dairy cows on subsequent low-moisture part-skim Mozzarella cheese quality and VB12 levels ...during cheese processing and storage. Twenty-four peripartum dairy cows were blocked based on parity and milk yield and randomly assigned into 2 treatments: basal diet (CON) and basal diet with an intramuscular injection of 10 mg of VB12 per cow per week (VB12). Raw milk was collected to determine VB12 content and then used to make low-moisture part-skim Mozzarella cheese 8 wk after injection. The VB12 content of raw milk and cheese was determined using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry. We found that VB12 content was significantly increased in milk (15.43 vs. 3.30 ng/mL) and fresh cheese (3.72 ng/g vs. undetectable) from the VB12 group compared with the CON group. However, approximately 70% of VB12 was lost in the whey during cheese making, and no VB12 was detectable in either cheese treatment after 8 wk of storage. Furthermore, no significant differences were observed in fat and protein contents in the cheese between the 2 groups. For cheese color, the b* value increased and the a* value decreased slightly in fresh VB12 cheese. Functional properties of stretchability, flowability, and meltability of VB12 cheese were initially comparable to that of CON cheese, but higher flowability and meltability was observed in VB12 cheese after 8 wk of storage. In summary, intramuscular injection of VB12 in early-lactation dairy cows increases the content of VB12 in milk and fresh cheese with no adverse effect on cheese quality, but substantial VB12 is lost during cheesemaking and declines rapidly during storage.
Sichen (SC) formula is a classic prescription of Tibetan medicine. Due to its potential anti-inflammatory effect, the SC formula has been clinically used to treat respiratory diseases for many years ...in the Chinese Tibet region. The present study aimed to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of SC and explore the underlying mechanisms.
SC formula was characterized by HPLC analysis. The acute lung injury (ALI) mouse model was induced by direct intratracheal lipopolysaccharide (LPS) instillation, and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and lung tissues were collected. Meanwhile, RAW264.7 macrophages were stimulated by LPS. The contents of inflammatory mediators in the culture medium were determined by ELISA. Protein levels were determined by immunohistochemical staining or Western blotting. Nuclear localization of NF-κB, AP-1, and IRF3 was performed using immunofluorescence and Western blotting.
In the LPS-induced ALI mouse model, SC treatment suppressed the secretion of inflammatory mediators (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, MCP-1, MIP-1α, and RANTES) in BALF. SC treatment hindered the recruitment of macrophages. SC treatment also inhibited the expression of CD68, p-p65, and TLR4 in the lung tissue. In the LPS-exposed RAW264.7 cells, the cell viability was not changed up to 400 μg/mL of SC. SC concentration-dependently suppressed the production of nitric oxide, prostaglandin E2, TNF-α, IL-6, MCP-1, MIP-1α, and RANTES in LPS-challenged RAW264.7 cells. The expression levels of iNOS, COX-2, p-p38, p-JNK, p-ERK, p-TBK1, p-IKKα/β, p-IκB, p-p65, p-c-Jun, and p-IRF3 were decreased after SC treatment. Moreover, the nuclear translocation of p65, c-Jun, and IRF3 was also blocked by SC treatment.
SC treatment inhibited the inflammatory responses in LPS-induced ALI mouse model/RAW264.7 macrophages. The underlying mechanism of this action may be closely associated with the suppression of TLR4 signaling pathways. These research findings provide further pharmacological justifications for the medicinal use of SC in the management of respiratory diseases.
SUMMARY
The aims of this study were to investigate intrapapillary capillary loops (IPCLs) of superficial esophageal lesions changes in different types classified by the Japan Esophageal Society ...classification. The calibers, areas, and densities of IPCLs were detected in 34 cases of esophageal lesions using immunohistochemical analysis. Statistically significant differences in calibers, areas, and densities of IPCLs were observed between type A, type B1/B2, and type B3 area (P < 0.001). In conclusion, the results of this observation showed the Japan Esophageal Society classification of IPCL would help endoscopists to diagnose the type and the invasion depth of lesion in esophagus, and decide the treatment strategy.
We present the analysis of a deep Chandra observation of a ~2 L sub(*) late-type galaxy, ESO 137-002, in the closest rich cluster A3627. The Chandra data reveal a long (gap40 kpc) and narrow tail ...with a nearly constant width (~3 kpc) to the southeast of the galaxy, and a leading edge ~L5 kpc from the galaxy center on the upstream side of the tail. The derived gas abundance is low (~0.2 solar with the single-kT model), an indication of the multiphase nature of the gas in the tail. The mass of the X-ray tail is only a small fraction (<5%) of the initial ISM mass of the galaxy, suggesting that the stripping is most likely at an early stage. We compare the tails of ESO 137-001 and ESO 137-002, and also compare the tails to simulations. Both the similarities and differences of the tails pose challenges to the simulations. Several implications are briefly discussed.
