The moiré-pattern with slightly interlayer-twisted bilayer two-dimensional (2D) materials has recently been receiving substantial attention. One of the major characters for these intriguing ...structures is the appearance of low-energy ultra-flat bands and thus a package of new physics associated with strong electron correlation emerges. However, such new physics may become vague unless the twist-angle θ is sufficiently small such as θ ∼ 1°, making practical applications and control-flexibility hard to handle. In this work, we explore the possible flat-band moiré physics in recently concerned 2D bilayer α-In2Se3 which is antiferroelectric with sublayer out-of-plane (OP) polarizations, addressing the potential role of polarization-bound charges in modulation of electron–electron correlation and interlayer hybridization, based on the extensive first-principles calculations. On one hand, it is found that the low energy band becomes extremely flat in the bilayer α-In2Se3 moiré-pattern with relatively large twist-angle, e.g. θ = 13.17°, which is more easily accessible experimentally. On the other hand, the impact of the sublayer OP polarizations on the band structure is asymmetric, and the flattening effect is much more remarkable for the end-to-end polarization alignment but weaker for the head-to-head alignment. This work thus opens a broad roadmap for technological access to artificial fabrication of novel moiré-patterned 2D materials by means of low-dimensional ferroelectricity.
We report the first observation of the spontaneous polarization of Λ and Λover ¯ hyperons transverse to the production plane in e^{+}e^{-} annihilation, which is attributed to the effect arising from ...a polarizing fragmentation function. For inclusive Λ/Λover ¯ production, we also report results with subtracted feed-down contributions from Σ^{0} and charm. This measurement uses a dataset of 800.4 fb^{-1} collected by the Belle experiment at or near a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV. We observe a significant polarization that rises with the fractional energy carried by the Λ/Λover ¯ hyperon.
The aim of this study was to investigate key points for the differential diagnosis of immunoglobulin G4-related sialadenitis (IgG4-RS) and Kimura’s disease (KD) involving the salivary glands. The ...clinical, serological, radiological, histological, and immunohistochemical features of 85 IgG4-RS cases and 52 KD cases were evaluated comparatively. Seventy-two IgG4-RS cases had enlargement of multiple salivary and/or lacrimal glands; 67 patients had bilateral submandibular gland (SMG) involvement. Unilateral parotid gland involvement (59.6%) and comorbid skin lesions (61.5%) were common in KD. Serum IgG4 was elevated in 94.1% of IgG4-RS cases versus 19.0% of KD cases (cut-off value=266.5mg/dl). KD was more commonly associated with elevated eosinophil counts (86% vs 23.1%) and elevated IgE concentrations (95.5% vs 76.6%). Storiform fibrosis, irregular lymphoid follicles, and increased IgG4-positive cells (112.9±37.6/high-power field (HPF)) were common in IgG4-RS. Acellular fibrosis, regular lymphoid follicles, IgE-positive reticular networks, increased IgE-positive cells (43.4±26.7/HPF), and tryptase-positive mast cells (29.7±13.3/HPF) were usually detected in KD. Computed tomography showed that 85.7% of KD cases involved subcutaneous fat tissue. A superficial hypoechoic and reticular pattern with multiple hypoechoic foci were the sonographic features of the SMG in IgG4-RS. Despite numerous overlapping manifestations, histopathological examination showed meaningful differences in the types of fibrosis, eosinophils, and IgG4-positive cell counts. Comprehensive evaluation of clinical, serological, radiological, and histopathological features are crucial for the differential diagnosis.
Corrosion behavior of the in-situ Ti-based bulk metallic glass matrix composites (BMGMCs) with a nominal composition of Ti42.3Zr29.1Cu6.6Nb6Be16 was studied in HCl and H2SO4 solutions with different ...concentrations. Potentiodynamic polarization tests indicated that at the lower solution concentration the corrosion current densities barely changed and their values were in the 10−7 - 10−8order of magnitude. However, corrosion current densities increased as the acid concentrations increased. Additionally, stable passivation films formed in the chloride-free solutions after polarization, but passive film breakdown and pitting corrosion were observed in HCl solution. Furthermore, the selective dissolution occurred in the amorphous matrix. Protective oxide films were enriched with Ti, Zr, and Nb oxides according to the XPS analysis after polarization on the surface. For a comprehensively study on the corrosion resistance of the BMGMCs, there also compared corrosion behavior of the composites with 316 stainless steel, Ti-6Al-4V and Zr-45Ti-5Al-3V alloys. It presents us a new reference value on the application of amorphous composites in their functioning environments.
•The BMGMCs show different corrosion behaviors in different acid solutions.•The lowest Icorr and highest Ecorr are observed in 0.05 mol/L H2SO4 solution.•The chemical characteristics are responsible to the corrosion resistance.•The assessment provides a new reference value for application of the BMGMCs.
To understand the prevalence and disease burden of major chronic diseases in the elderly in China and provide scientific basis for the prevention and control of chronic diseases and for the rational ...allocation of health resources.
We analyzed the prevalence of chronic diseases in residents aged ≥60 years in China by using national and provincial surveillance data of chronic diseases and related risk factors in China. We conducted the analysis on the burden of chronic diseases in the elderly in China by using the data of global burden of disease.
The prevalence rates of hypertension, diabetes and hypercholesterolemia were 58.3
, 19.4
and 10.5
respectively in residents aged ≥60 years in China. Up to 75.8
of the residents aged ≥60 years had at least one chronic disease. The prevalence rate was higher in women than in men, higher in urban area than in rural area. With the increase of age, the prevalence rate of chronic diseases also increased. The top three chronic diseases with heavy disease burden in residents
Based on 4.4 fb -1 of e + e - annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energies between 4.60 and 4.70 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the pure W-boson-exchange decay Λ c ...+ → Ξ 0 K + is studied with a full angular analysis. The corresponding decay asymmetry is measured for the first time to be α Ξ 0 K + = 0.01 ± 0.16(stat) ± 0.03(syst). This result reflects the noninterference effect between the S- and P-wave amplitudes. The phase shift between S- and P-wave amplitudes has two solutions, which are δ p - δ s = -1.55 ± 0.25(stat) ± 0.05(syst) rad or 1.59 ± 0.25(stat) ± 0.05(syst) rad.
