Traffic flow prediction is crucial for public safety and traffic management, and remains a big challenge because of many complicated factors, e.g., multiple spatio-temporal dependencies, holidays, ...and weather. Some work leveraged 2D convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and long short-term memory networks (LSTMs) to explore spatial relations and temporal relations, respectively, which outperformed the classical approaches. However, it is hard for these work to model spatio-temporal relations jointly. To tackle this, some studies utilized LSTMs to connect high-level layers of CNNs, but left the spatio-temporal correlations not fully exploited in low-level layers. In this work, we propose novel spatio-temporal CNNs to extract spatio-temporal features simultaneously from low-level to high-level layers, and propose a novel gated scheme to control the spatio-temporal features that should be propagated through the hierarchy of layers. Based on these, we propose an end-to-end framework, multiple gated spatio-temporal CNNs (MGSTC), for citywide traffic flow prediction. MGSTC can explore multiple spatio-temporal dependencies through multiple gated spatio-temporal CNN branches, and combine the spatio-temporal features with external factors dynamically. Extensive experiments on two real traffic datasets demonstrates that MGSTC outperforms other state-of-the-art baselines.
This study adopts a new approach, SHapley Additive exPlanation (SHAP), to diagnose the table tennis matches based on a hybrid algorithm, namely Long Short-Term Memory-Back Propagation Neural Network ...(LSTM-BPNN). 100 male singles competitions (8535 rallies) from 2019 to 2022 are analyzed by a hybrid technical-tactical analysis theory, which hybridizes the double three-phase and four-phase evaluation theories. A k-means cluster analysis is conducted to classify 59 players' winning rates into three levels (high, medium, and low). The results show that LSTM-BPNN has excellent performance (MSE = 0.000355, MAE = 0.014237, RMSE = 0.018853, and Formula: see text = 0.988311) compared with six typical artificial intelligence algorithms. Using LSTM-BPNN to calculate the SHAP value of each feature, the global results find that the receive-attack and serve-attack phases of the ending match have essential impacts on the mutual winning probabilities. Finally, case applications show that the SHAP can directly obtain each feature importance on one or more matches, which is more objective and reliable than the traditional simulation method. This research explores an innovative way to understand and analyze matches, and these results have implications for the performance analysis of table tennis and related racket sports.

METTL3, the first identified key methyltransferase, regulates human mRNA and non-coding RNA expression in an m6A-dependent manner. This review elucidates the biological function and role of METTL3 in PCa and discusses the implications of METTL3 as a potential therapeutic target for future research directions and clinical applications.
Background Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are reported to be key regulators in the progression of human cancers. This work focuses on the function and molecular mechanism of circRNA-BNC2 (circ-BNC2) (also ...known as hsa_circ_0008732) in ovarian cancer (OC). Methods Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was conducted to detect circ-BNC2, microRNA-223-3p (miR-223-3p) and F-box and WD repeat domain containing 7 (FBXW7) mRNA expressions in OC tissues and cells. Besides, cell counting kit 8 (CCK-8), transwell assay and cell cycle assays were executed to assess the proliferative, migrative, invasive abilities, and cell cycle progression of OC cells, respectively. Dual-luciferase reporter gene assay and RNA pull-down assay were used to validate the targeting relationships between miR-223-3p and circ-BNC2 or FBXW7. Western blot was adopted to determine FBXW7 protein levels in OC cells. Results Circ-BNC2 expression was downregulated in OC tissues and cell lines, which was associated with higher FIGO stage and lymph node metastasis of OC patients. Circ-BNC2 overexpression repressed the proliferation, migration, invasion of OC cells and induced cell cycle arrest, while silencing circ-BNC2 worked oppositely. Mechanistically, circ-BNC2 could upregulate FBXW7 expression in OC cells via sponging miR-223-3p. Conclusion Circ-BNC2 suppresses the progression of OC via regulating miR-223-3p / FBXW7 axis. Prostate cancer is the most prevalent malignant tumor in men across developed countries. Traditional diagnostic and therapeutic methods for this tumor have become increasingly difficult to adapt to ...today’s medical philosophy, thus compromising early detection, diagnosis, and treatment. Prospecting for new diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets has become a hot topic in today’s research. Notably, exosomes, small vesicles characterized by a phospholipid bilayer structure released by cells that is capable of delivering different types of cargo that target specific cells to regulate biological properties, have been extensively studied. Exosomes composition, coupled with their interactions with cells make them multifaceted regulators in cancer development. Numerous studies have described the role of prostate cancer-derived exosomal proteins in diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. However, so far, there is no relevant literature to systematically summarize its role in tumors, which brings obstacles to the later research of related proteins. In this review, we summarize exosomal proteins derived from prostate cancer from different sources and summarize their roles in tumor development and drug resistance.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), a chronic disease, is widely prevalent all over the world. In recent years, the roles of some extracellular vesicles (EVs) in T2DM have attracted much attention. EVs ...are bilayer membrane vesicles secreted from most cells and can participate in regulating various physiological and pathological processes in vivo by being transported between cells. Recently, it was discovered that some abnormal EVs can contribute to the occurrence of T2DM by inducing insulin resistance and can also participate in the complications of T2DM. In addition, some stem/progenitor cells-derived EVs have a potential application in the therapy of T2DM. This review introduces basic concepts of EVs and summarizes the roles of EVs in the pathogenesis, complications, and therapy of T2DM.
Bladder cancer (BC) is one of the most important tumors of the genitourinary system, associated with high morbidity and mortality rates. Over the years, various antitumor treatments have been ...developed, and immunotherapy is one of the most effective methods. Immunotherapy aims to activate the body's immune system to kill cancer cells. It has been established that immunotherapy drugs can be classified into "non-targeted" and "targeted" drugs depending on their site of action. Immunotherapy is reportedly effective for BC. Even though it can attack cancer cells, it can also cause the immune system to attack healthy cells, which can occur at any time during treatment and sometimes even after immunotherapy is stopped. Importantly, different types of immunotherapies can cause different side effects. Side effects may manifest themselves as signs or as symptoms. The prevention and treatment of side effects caused by immunotherapy is an important part of cancer patient management.
The molecular mechanisms of obesity-induced cancer progression have been extensively explored because of the significant increase in obesity and obesity-related diseases worldwide. Studies have shown ...that obesity is associated with certain features of prostate cancer. In particular, bioactive factors released from periprostatic adipose tissues mediate the bidirectional communication between periprostatic adipose tissue and prostate cancer. Moreover, recent studies have shown that extracellular vesicles have a role in the relationship between tumor peripheral adipose tissue and cancer progression. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the feedback mechanisms between prostate cancer and periglandular adipose and the role of exosomes as mediators of signal exchange to understand obesity as a risk factor for prostate cancer. This review summarizes the two-way communication between prostate cancer and periglandular adipose and discusses the potential role of exosomes as a cross-talk and the prospect of using adipose tissue as a means to obtain exosomes in vitro. Therefore, this review may provide new directions for the treatment of obesity to suppress prostate cancer.
