The impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 permeates all aspects of society worldwide. Initial medical reports and media coverage ...have increased awareness of the risk imposed on healthcare workers in particular, during this pandemic. However, the health implications of COVID-19 for the global workforce are multifaceted and complex, warranting careful reflection and consideration to mitigate the adverse effects on workers worldwide. Accordingly, our review offers a framework for considering this topic, highlighting key issues, with the aim to prompt and inform action, including research, to minimize the occupational hazards imposed by this ongoing challenge. We address respiratory disease as a primary concern, while recognizing the multisystem spectrum of COVID-19-related disease and how clinical aspects are interwoven with broader socioeconomic forces.
Interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) are a diverse set of related conditions with multiple etiologies, in addition to a group where the cause is unknown. There is concern for a potential association of ...WTC-related exposures with ILD, but the disease range has not differed from what is observed in the general population, and active investigations to study that association are ongoing. Although these diseases are very diverse, some are extremely rare, and they often are disabling and have a poor prognosis, evidence-based guidelines for their diagnosis, management and long-term monitoring have emerged and will evolve as knowledge and therapeutic options increase. This brief article summarizes pertinent issues of diagnosis and management of ILDs, applicable to the diverse group of ILDs that have been observed in the WTC Health Program covered population.
The most frequent adverse physical health effect among World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP) members is chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), with some evidence supporting its association with the ...exposures to dust, gases, and toxicants. We selected the International Consensus Statement on Allergy and Rhinology: Rhinosinusitis (ICARS-RS-2021) as a comprehensive evidence-based guide on best practices for CRS diagnosis and treatment for the WTCHP.

We present QUIJOTE intensity and polarization maps in four frequency bands centred around 11, 13, 17, and 19 GHz, and covering approximately 29 000 deg2, including most of the northern sky ...region. These maps result from 9000 h of observations taken between May 2013 and June 2018 with the first QUIJOTE multifrequency instrument (MFI), and have angular resolutions of around 1°, and sensitivities in polarization within the range 35–40 µK per 1° beam, being a factor ∼2–4 worse in intensity. We discuss the data processing pipeline employed, and the basic characteristics of the maps in terms of real space statistics and angular power spectra. A number of validation tests have been applied to characterize the accuracy of the calibration and the residual level of systematic effects, finding a conservative overall calibration uncertainty of 5 per cent. We also discuss flux densities for four bright celestial sources (Tau A, Cas A, Cyg A, and 3C274), which are often used as calibrators at microwave frequencies. The polarization signal in our maps is dominated by synchrotron emission. The distribution of spectral index values between the 11 GHz and WMAP 23 GHz map peaks at β = −3.09 with a standard deviation of 0.14. The measured BB/EE ratio at scales of ℓ = 80 is 0.26 ± 0.07 for a Galactic cut |b| > 10°. We find a positive TE correlation for 11 GHz at large angular scales (ℓ ≲ 50), while the EB and TB signals are consistent with zero in the multipole range 30 ≲ ℓ ≲ 150. The maps discussed in this paper are publicly available.
ABSTRACT
The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) is the Local Group galaxy that is most similar to the Milky Way (MW). The similarities between the two galaxies make M31 useful for studying integrated properties ...common to spiral galaxies. We use the data from the recent QUIJOTE-MFI Wide Survey, together with new raster observations focused on M31, to study its integrated emission. The addition of raster data improves the sensitivity of QUIJOTE-MFI maps by almost a factor 3. Our main interest is to confirm if anomalous microwave emission (AME) is present in M31, as previous studies have suggested. To do so, we built the integrated spectral energy distribution of M31 between 0.408 and 3000 GHz. We then performed a component separation analysis taking into account synchrotron, free–free, AME, and thermal dust components. AME in M31 is modelled as a log-normal distribution with maximum amplitude, AAME, equal to 1.03 ± 0.32 Jy. It peaks at ${\nu _{\rm AME}}=17.2\pm 3.2{\rm \, GHz}{}$ with a width of WAME = 0.58 ± 0.16. Both the Akaike and Bayesian information criteria find the model without AME to be less than 1 per cent as probable as the one taking AME into consideration. We find that the AME emissivity per 100 $\mu$m intensity in M31 is ${\epsilon _{\rm AME}^{\rm 28.4\, GHz}}=9.6\pm 3.1\,\mu$K MJy−1 sr, similar to that of the MW. We also provide the first upper limits for the AME polarization fraction in an extragalactic object. M31 remains the only galaxy where an AME measurement has been made of its integrated spectrum.
En el presente trabajo de investigación, se presenta un modelo lineal para estimar el Índice de Degradación a la Procesabilidad (PDI, por sus siglas en inglés) del polipropileno a partir del ...reciclado de residuos industriales y residuos sólidos urbanos. Para lo anterior se hizo un diseño experimental con los dos tipos de residuo variando el aditivo estabilizante de 0,1% a 0,6% obteniendo en cada caso un Índice de Degradación a la Procesabilidad con lo cual se pudo construir el modelo lineal. Finalmente, se pudo establecer que la relación observada de las múltiples extrusiones y el Índice de Degradación a la Procesabilidad muestra que para el caso de los desechos industriales es menor comparado con los desechos de los rellenos sanitarios utilizando los mismos niveles de aditivos estabilizantes, e igualmente se observa que los niveles de aditivos requerido para optimizar el bloqueo de la degradación van desde 0,05% a 0,60%, siendo este último la concentración de aditivo óptima para minimizar el Índice de Degradación a la Procesabilidad.
