Purpose
This research aimed to assess the impact of nutritional status and frailty in the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of patients with bladder or kidney cancer.
Methods
This was a ...cross-sectional study with individuals aged 20 years or older. Frailty phenotype was defined using the criteria of Fried et al. (2001). Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) classified nutritional status. The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of life questionnaire Core-30 third version (EORTC QLQ-C30) assessed HRQoL.
Results
Forty-four patients with bladder and 44 with kidney cancer, mostly male, with a mean age of 65.9 and 58.6 years, respectively, were evaluated. Presence of frailty was not different between young and older adults. More than 80% of the robust subjects were well-nourished, while there was a predominance of frail with some degree of malnutrition (

< 0.05). The summary score of HRQoL was worse among the frails than pre-frails and robusts, both in bladder (68.5 vs 86.8 vs 89.5;
p
= 0.002) and in kidney cancer (54.9 vs 82.9 vs 91.4;
p
< 0.001), as well as in malnourished compared to well-nourished with bladder (72.9 vs 90.3;
p
= 0.003) and kidney cancer (69.4 vs 88.3;
p
= 0.001). After adjusted, frailty and malnutrition continued associated with poor summary score (
p
< 0.05).
Conclusion
These findings indicate that frailty and malnutrition negatively affect HRQoL of patients with bladder or kidney cancer in several aspects.
Purpose
We aimed to investigate the association between handgrip strength (HGS) and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). A cross-sectional study was ...conducted including CRC patients.
Methods
We performed an assessment of aspects of functional health using the criteria of frailty phenotype (defined by Fried et al., 2001), sarcopenia (defined by the European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People 2, 2018) and by HGS, which measures muscle strength using a manual dynamometer. HRQoL was assessed using the EORTC questionnaire QLQ-C30. Analyses of variance and multivariate linear regression were used to compare frailty, sarcopenia, and HGS with HRQoL.
Results
A total of 142 patients were included (age 62.7 ± 11.4 years; 56.3% women; 18.3% of patients with frailty; 9.9% with sarcopenia, and 15.5% had low HGS). After adjusting for sociodemographic, clinical, and nutritional variables, the regression analysis showed that frailty and sarcopenia were associated with worse HRQoL. Conclusion
We concluded that HGS was positively associated with HRQoL in patients with CRC and may initially be the variable of choice in clinical practice, which is associated with HRQoL.
O objetivo desta revisão integrativa foi analisar os artigos científicos publicados no idioma português sobre scout técnico e tático no futsal. As bases de dados utilizadas foram: Scopus, ...SportDiscuss, Scielo, Google Acadêmico e Periódicos Capes. Os descritores utilizados foram: “Futsal” AND “Scout”. A análise dos artigos ocorreu por meio dos seguintes indicadores: ano de publicação; periódico de publicação; autores; instituição dos autores; localidade da instituição dos autores; área de conhecimento abordada pelo artigo; instrumento de coleta de dados do artigo; e subtema abordado pelo artigo. Ao todo, foram analisados 26 artigos. A partir de 2013 o número de publicações se manteve estável até 2019, com pico no número de artigos no ano de 2018 (n=4); as instituições com o maior número de autores nas pesquisas analisadas destacam-se a UFMA (n=19), a Universidade Regional de Blumenau (n=14) e a UGF (n=5); os instrumentos de Scout mais reportados pelos artigos foram a análise de vídeo junto com uma planilha de Excel (n=11); os estudos que utilizaram o Scout evidenciaram que a maior parte dos gols ocorreram em locais mais próximos do gol, preferencialmente em regiões centrais; identificou-se que as finalizações, desarme, visão periférica e passe influenciaram o resultado da partida; notou-se que há uma maior proficiência técnico/tática de atletas de categorias de base com idade mais avançada. Conclui-se que há um avanço e interesse na utilização do Scout em análises de jogos de futsal, pois tal instrumento auxilia aos profissionais tomarem decisões mais adequadas com a realidade.

Analysis of studies about scout in futsal: an integrative review The objective of this integrative review was to analyze scientific articles written in Portuguese about technical and tactical scouting in futsal. The databases used were: Scopus, SportDiscuss, Scielo, Google Acadêmico and Periódicos Capes. With the following descriptors in Portuguese: Futsal and Scout. The analysis of the articles was based on the following indicators: year of publication; journal of publication; authors; authors' institution; location of the authors' institution; area of knowledge addressed by the article; data collection instrument of the article; and sub-theme addressed by the article. Twenty-six articles were analyzed. From 2013 the number of publications remained stable until 2019, with a peak in the number of articles in the year 2018 (n=4); the institutions with the highest number of authors in the analyzed research stand out UFMA (n=19), the Regional University of Blumenau (n=14) and UGF (n=5); the Scout instruments most reported by the articles were video analysis along with an Excel spreadsheet (n=11); the studies that used Scout evidenced that most of the goals occurred in places closer to the goal, preferentially in central regions; it was identified that the finishing, tackling, peripheral vision and passing influenced the outcome of the match; it was noted that there is a greater technical/tactical proficiency of athletes from youth categories with older age. It is concluded that there is an advance and interest in the use of Scout in the analysis of futsal match, because this instrument helps professionals to take decisions that are more adequate to reality. HIV infection can have important although sometimes unexpected consequences, such as contributing to enlargement of the pool of rubella-susceptible children.
At the Federal University of São Paulo, ...Brazil, we assessed response to rubella immunization at 15 months of age in 15 human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV)-infected children, 20 seroreverted children (SR) and 18 healthy control children born to HIV-seronegative mothers (CON). Blood samples were collected before and 3 months after vaccination. All HIV-infected children had started highly active antiretroviral therapy during their first 6 months of life. Serum samples were tested with a rubella IgG enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit.
HIV children in immunologic categories 2/3 had lower rubella antibody titers (geometric mean, 33 IU/mL) than those from CON (125 IU/mL) and SR group (236 IU/mL) (Tukey, P = 0.01). Antibody values after vaccination were positively associated with CD4 T cell numbers and negatively associated with HIV viral load assessed immediately before vaccination. The percentage of children with protective antibodies after vaccination (above 10.0 IU/mL) was also significantly different among groups (Fisher's exact test, P = 0.013): CON, 94%; SR, 100%; HIV category 1, 100%; HIV category 2/3, 62%.
HIV-infected children with a preserved immune system at measles-mumps-rubella immunization can have a good response to rubella vaccine. In contrast, those in more advanced categories for HIV infection respond poorly.
O objetivo deste artigo é explorar as nuances e estratégias no manejo de crises de ansiedade e pânico em crianças e adolescentes, reconhecendo as condições multifatoriais envolvidas. Busca-se ...oferecer insights e orientações práticas para profissionais de saúde, pais e educadores na abordagem dessas complexidades no contexto pediátrico. Metodologia: Foram exploradas várias plataformas acadêmicas, como PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science e Scielo, durante a pesquisa. Os termos-chave "crise de ansiedade", "síndrome do pânico", "crianças" e "adolescentes" foram utilizados. A abordagem PICO (População; Intervenção; Comparação; Outcome) foi empregada para aprimorar a busca, delimitando a população-alvo, as intervenções estudadas, comparações quando relevantes e os desfechos de interesse. Resultados: O estudo destaca a necessidade de abordagens personalizadas no manejo de crises de ansiedade e pânico em crianças e adolescentes, considerando a diversidade de fatores envolvidos. Intervenções adaptadas às peculiaridades individuais e uma compreensão aprofundada das condições multifatoriais são fundamentais para promover um impacto positivo no bem-estar emocional desses jovens. Conclusão: A abordagem sensível e ética no diagnóstico e tratamento da síndrome do pânico em crianças e adolescentes, considerando fatores culturais, é essencial para promover intervenções eficazes e centradas no paciente, garantindo o bem-estar e respeitando as complexidades individuais.
