New reagents (CPGs and phosphoramidites) for automatic solid phase synthesis of modified oligonucleotides were designed. Three oligonucleotides carrying fluorescent label at the 5′-terminus and an ...anchor group at the 3′-terminus were prepared and their immobilization in orthogonal conditions on solid supports was studied.
The Recent and Quaternary natural processes in the Caspian Sea have attracted the attention of many researchers due to the unique natural characteristics of the region (intense sea level fluctuations ...included) and active development of its water areas fostered by its high oil and gas industry 17 (Figs. 1a, 1b). The active prospecting and development of submarine resources of the Caspian Sea carried out at present require heightened attention to potential geological hazards, including the gravitational instability of Quaternary sediments 1, 811. During the period of 2004-2006, researchers from the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology (Moscow) carried out regular complex expeditions in the Caspian Sea on board the R/V Rift, including high-resolution CSP seismoacoustic profiling (with the sparker source) and SES methods. These works yielded new data on stratigraphy and submarine slumping processes in Quaternary sediments 1113.
Two-phase binary silver tellurium alloys fulfil all the conditions for the internal oxidation. Tellurium is bound to the intermetallic compound Ag2Te and a small part occurs in solid solution. The ...internal oxidation of tellurium is a direct oxidation of the intermetallic compounds' particles and a diffusion-controlled oxidation from solid solution. The oxidation from solid solution was controlled with heterogeneous nuclea. The oxidation temperature was higher than the oxidation products melting temperature. The direct oxidation was accelerated owing to the high oxygen sulubility and diffusivity. The shape of the oxidised particles of intermetallic compound is changed because of the changed interface energy.
The purpose of our investigation was to perform the thermodynamic calculation of all possible reactions in the Cu-Se-O system and to explain the oxidation mechanism in various conditions. For such ...study, a model of copper with one single inclusion and alloy with 1,65 wt. % Se were made. Depending on time, the oxidation has been taking place at two different temperatures and two oxygen partial pressures. The oxidized samples have been investigated by DTA, optical and electron microscopy (SEM).
Al2O3-CaO-CaF2 slags with addition of SiO2 were used for making the special quality of steels under the electro-slag remelting (ESR). The purpose of our investigation was the thermodynamic ...examination of such slags. The slags with the different SiO2 fraction (0 to 15 % mass) were examined by the thermal and the chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis and metallography. By the addition of SiO2 the polymerisation of slags was increased due to the formation of new silicate complex compositions, which lower their melting points and the electric conductivities, and increase the viscosity respectively. During the melting process it was determined that the sample mass decreased due to the evaporation of the fluorine.
The article proposes the design of the power supply, using as a current source electrochemical cell located outside the robust housing of the device. In this case, the device body can be used as one ...of the electrodes. The possibility of using a source of seawater as an electrolyte for powering devices has been practically tested. The developed power supply is completely safe during transportation by any mode of transport as part of the devices. The design does not require additional maintenance of the device during storage, transportation and measurements. The source allows to reduce the size, reduce the cost and improve the usability and reliability of marine devices.

Silver alloys with selenium, tellurium and sulphur fulfill the conditions for the internal oxidation. Microstructure of alloys consists of matrix (dilute solid solution) and particles of ...intermetallic compounds. Internal oxidation of ternary alloys is very similar to internal oxidation of binary alloys, but it has also characteristics due to differences in thermodynamics properties of alloying elements. At the direct oxidation of the particles of the intermalic compound particles phenomena of selective oxidation was observed. Concentration of more reactive element increasingly groves in oxidized part of intermetallic compound particle (Te in AgTeSe alloys). Therefore the precipitated oxides, which formed with diffusional internal oxidation, are richer with less reactive alloying element (Se in AgTeSe alloy). Concentration of selenium is in the precipiteted oxide particles more than twice greater than concentration of tellurium.
