In their work, companies make a number of decisions on a daily basis. Making decisions is made at all places in the company hierarchy. The performance and success of a particular company depends ...largely on the effectiveness of the decisions made. The basis for a successful business of a particular business entity is making quality and good decisions of the decision maker. The decision-making process differs from enterprise to enterprise and is conditioned by the knowledge of the decision maker and decisionmaking style. In modern market conditions, decisions are often made in which decisionmakers make choices among a large number of alternatives. Ranking of the alternatives is based on defined criteria. Multi-criteria decision-making methods are a means of successfully overcoming and making quality decisions in terms of multi-criteria decision-making. The European Union’s (EU) role in the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina can be assessed in two different periods. The first period can be described as ‘increased mediation activity’, where ...one highlight was the signing of the ‘Brussels Agreement’ in 2013 under the supervision of the EU High Representative (HR) Catherine Ashton. By not referring to Kosovo’s status and softening disputed parties’ attitudes towards each other, the HR and the newly-created European External Action Service (EEAS) managed to prove both internally and externally that the EU is a capable and effective mediator. The following period can be labelled as ‘decreased mediation activity’, representing the translation of the Brussels Agreement into reality. During this phase, the dialogue was challenged not only by disagreements between Belgrade and Pristina, but also by disagreements from within the EU. Thus, the dialogue did not progress much, and the culmination was that the dialogue was blocked. This period after the Brussels Agreement was marked by intense cooperation between Belgrade and Pristina, due to the importance of the dialogue for their domestic and foreign politics. Therefore, when examining the success of the EU-initiated dialogue, the focus has generally been on the actors of the dialogue, while the EU as a main mediator has received less attention. The EU as a mediator plays a crucial role in shaping the dialogue discourse by offering strong incentives, such as the perspective of EU membership. In order to draw conclusions about the future relations between Belgrade and Pristina, it is therefore important to analyse the role of the EU as a mediator. The purpose of this analysis is to examine the capacity and limitations of the EU as main mediator. Therefore, this analysis argues that throughout the EU-facilitated dialogue, the EU managed to set up a good starting base for overcoming commitment problems among disputed parties and overcoming different preferences within the EU, but it did not ensure unity and the full support of member states for the final process of dialogue.
The expected growth of living standard, number of inhabitants and development of technology, industry and agriculture will cause a significant increase of energy consumption in cities. Three ...scenarios of energy sector development until 2030 and corresponding energy consumption for the city of Belgrade are analyzed in this paper. These scenarios consider different level of economic development, investments in energy sector, substitution of fossil fuels, introduction of renewable energy sources and implementation of energy efficiency measures. The proposed model for selection of optimal district heating system compares different options for fulfilling expected new heat demand through eight criteria for each scenario. Proposed options are combination of different energy sources and technologies for their use. The criteria weights are set according to Serbian economy and energy position. The criteria include financial aspects, environmental impact and availability of energy. Multi-criteria method ELECTRE (ELimination Et Choix Traduisant la REalite) is used as a tool for obtaining the optimal option. It is concluded that combination of CHP (combined heat and power) plant and centralized use of geothermal energy is optimal choice in the optimistic scenario. In the pessimistic and business as usual scenario the optimal option is combination of new gas boilers and centralized use of geothermal energy.

This article explores housing models and hybrid typologies advanced as part of an urban renewal programme in Belgrade (Serbia, former Yugoslavia) in the 1980s. We argue that these typologies were ...tested against the socialist-modernist model of mass residential construction that had been dominant since the 1960s. Our research identifies the design methodologies employed in the insertion of collective housing typologies into an elite residential quarter of traditionally-planned detached family houses, in the case of high-standard housing project Dedinje II/2 (1979-1986) designed by the architect Zoran Županjevac. The article particularly focuses on local adaptation of the transnational concept of designing spaces of transition between community and privacy. Instrumental in this adaptation, we aim to show, was the educational experience and professional practice critical of radical modernism gained by the architect in the USA, UK and Austria. In particular, we find that the project reflects the transfer of knowledge and experience across cultural, geographic and political contexts. The resulting typologies, we contend, not only represented an example of a pluralist approach to late-socialist architecture but provided models for re-thinking housing in the transition to the market economy of the post-socialist period.

Na temelju analize korespondencije Milovana Gavazzija sa srpskim etnologom Milenkom Filipovićem naslovnoj će se temi pokušati pristupiti iz perspektive intelektualne historije. Tom prilikom će se rad na osnutku etnološkoga društva promatrati kao pokazatelj intelektualne angažiranosti Gavazzija i Filipovića u međuraću.
This study aims to investigate the level of satisfaction of foreign tourists, specifically millennials, based on different dimensions of destination image and the quality of the tourist services in ...Belgrade, the capital of the Republic of Serbia, as an emerging destination. Despite the tarnished image attached to the city after the Yugoslav Wars and the economic crisis in the 1990s, this emerging destination is becoming more popular among foreign visitors. A sample of 359 international tourists was surveyed. Structural equation modelling was used to test the relationships between the constructs. The results confirmed the positive effects of image and quality on satisfaction as well as a positive and direct effect of image on quality. Moreover, there was a partial mediation of quality between image and satisfaction. The findings have significant marketing and management implications for destination stakeholders. They provide useful insights for choosing effective strategies and an appropriate business tourism model in emerging destinations that can further help them to become more competitive.
