La universidad actual es la institución encargada de mejorar las competencias de la nación, para formar el talento humano de la sociedad; desarrollar, introducir y promover los adelantos de la ...ciencia, el arte y la tecnología; al lograr que la ciencia, la tecnología y el arte formen parte de la cultura de la sociedad. En la actualidad, se constata que la formación de los maestros de las carreras de Educación Especial y Logopedia presenta dificultades en la enseñanza–aprendizaje del sistema Braille, dado por la carencia de una metodología que responda a las necesidades de los maestros en formación.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan modul pembelajaran aksara Jawa“dinta swara” yang sesuai untuk siswa tunanetra, dan (2) mengukur efektifitas modul pembelajaran aksara Jawa dalam ...meningkatkan kemampuan siswa tunanetra mengenai baca tulis aksara Jawa dalam huruf Braille. Pengembangan modul pembelajaran ini dilakukan melalui studi pendahuluan, pembuatan desain produk, produk akhir, dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul pembelajaran aksara Jawa dalam huruf Braille efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa tunanetra mengenai pelajaran bahasa Jawa, khususnya dalam materi baca tulis aksara Jawa. Peningkatan kemampuan tersebut terlihat dari hasil pretest dan posttest yang dilakukan. Pada pretest uji coba kelompok kecil diperoleh hasil 40,00, pada posttest uji coba kelompok kecil diperoleh hasil 7,33. Sedangkan pada pretest uji coba lapangan lebih luas diperoleh hasil 44,00, dan pada posttest uji coba lapangan lebih luas diperoleh hasil 70,66.Kata kunci: modul pembelajaran, aksara jawa, huruf braille, siswa tunanetra DEVELOPING A MODULE FOR THE LEARNING OF THE JAVANESE ALPHABET “DINTA SWARA” IN BRAILLE FOR BLIND STUDENTAbstractThis study aims to: (1) produce a module of learning Java script "dinta swara" appropriate for blind students, and (2) measure the effectiveness of Javanese script module in improving the ability of students with visual impairment about reading Javanese script in Braille. Abstract
This research focuses on the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Banyuwangi Innovation on standards diffable public service. Implementation of Artificial Intelligence through ...technological innovation and special infrastructure for people with disabilities and public service standards for disableds, braille printers, braille scanner, hearing it tools, audio graph tools to measure hearing, deaf speech electrolytes, multi-function wheelchair, regulations on braille printing disabilities, braille computers, jaws applications for pc, talk voice to read mobile applications, embosser printers, braille reference books. The implementation was realized by the government, education service providers, stakeholders, the community, and the private sector. AI formulated important support, needed, applications, technology, machine learning, public facilities, and access to information. Innovation in Banyuwangi manifested the form of support for regional regulations (PERDA) No. 6 of 2017 that concern the protection and fulfillment of the rights of disabilities to realize public service standards for disabilities following technological innovation.
There is no denying with the fact that the vision impaired candidates/blind candidates were allocated to explicit instructive settings depending on their impairment. India's schooling framework ...rebuilt in 2020 brought some major and crucial changes in the curriculum, including the absorption of a language of comprehensive training in approach drives. The instructive encounters of visually impaired/vision-weakened individuals, the elements that impacted these encounters and how these aided or blocked their future odds were the critical focal point of the review and execution of new methods on which this research is based. The blind students or the visually impaired are dependent on two senses, the touch sense and the auditory sense, for their academics and their daily activities. During Pandemic-2019, the importance of auditory sense becomes much more important than the touch sense for the visually impaired people. Online studies for blind students especially subjects like mathematics and science emerged as a big challenge for the society. The researchers need to find effective solution to teach blind students through audio and visual aids. This paper focus on the framework for the effective mathematical symbols visualisation and has been designed to assist students and the teaching staff in text as well as audio format.
The white matter (WM) architecture of the human brain changes in response to training, though fine-grained temporal characteristics of training-induced white matter plasticity remain unexplored. We ...investigated white matter microstructural changes using diffusion tensor imaging at five different time points in 26 sighted female adults during 8 months of training on tactile braille reading. Our results show that training-induced white matter plasticity occurs both within and beyond the trained sensory modality, as reflected by fractional anisotropy (FA) increases in somatosensory and visual cortex, respectively. The observed changes followed distinct time courses, with gradual linear FA increase along the training in the somatosensory cortex and sudden visual cortex cross-modal plasticity occurring after braille input became linguistically meaningful. WM changes observed in these areas returned to baseline after the cessation of learning in line with the supply-demand model of plasticity. These results also indicate that the temporal dynamics of microstructural plasticity in different cortical regions might be modulated by the nature of computational demands. We provide additional evidence that observed FA training-induced changes are behaviorally relevant to tactile reading. Together, these results demonstrate that WM plasticity is a highly dynamic process modulated by the introduction of novel experiences.
Throughout the lifetime the human brain is shaped by various experiences. Training-induced reorganization in white matter (WM) microstructure has been reported, but we know little about its temporal dynamics. To fill this gap, we scanned sighted subjects five times during tactile braille reading training. We observed different dynamics of WM plasticity in the somatosensory and visual cortices implicated in braille reading. The former showed a continuous increase in WM tissue anisotropy along with tactile training, while microstructural changes in the latter were observed only after the participants learned to read braille words. Our results confirm the supply-demand model of brain plasticity and provide evidence that WM reorganization depends on distinct computational demands and functional roles of regions involved in the trained skill.
Introduction
Although it is well documented in the literature that individuals with visual impairments have low physical activity levels and impaired body compositions and postural controls compared ...with peers without vision loss, the relation between these parameters in athletes with visual impairments is unknown.
Research Question
Here, we (i) evaluated the physical activity levels, balance measures, and anthropometry parameters in athletes with visual impairments and peers without vision loss controls and (ii) compared these variables between the two groups.
Methods
We designed a retrospective observational study with parallel groups conducted on 33 athletes with visual impairments and 33 sighted controls matched for age and sex. We also utilized a questionnaire about physical activity levels and assessed static balance for 4 conditions (eyes-open firm surface, eyes-closed firm surface, eyes-open foam surface, and eyes-closed foam surface) and anthropometry.
Results
In athletes with visual impairments, body composition, body mass index (BMI), physical activity level, and static balance parameters revealed no significant relationship (p > .05), whereas eyes-open and -closed firm and foam surface conditions were positively related with physical activity at a moderate level (r = 0.39, r = 0.38, p < .05, respectively). Moderate-intensity and high-intensity physical activity was positively associated with fat-free mass (r = 0.82, r = 0.68, p < .01, respectively) and negatively related with body mass, fat %, and fat mass (r = −0.67, r = −0.52, r = −0.72, r = −0.66, r = −0.50, r = −0.50, p < .01, respectively). Athletes with visual impairments presented lower static balance than the sighted controls for three conditions, while eyes-closed foam surface scores were similar in both groups. The physical activity levels were higher for athletes with visual impairments (p < .05). However, we found no difference in the body composition and BMI between two groups (p > .05).
Discussion
Sports participation from individuals with visual impairments is related to higher physical activity levels, resulting in better anthropometric profile. The balance control was not related to physical activity levels in athletes with visual impairments.
O presente trabalho teve como objetivo construir e avaliar uma proposta de intervenção mediacional junto a crianças pré-escolares, por meio de oficinas de leitura e escrita no Sistema Braille. A ...proposta está fundamentada nos conceitos de Vigotski sobre a defectologia e na abordagem relativa à Experiência da Aprendizagem Mediada (EAM), desenvolvida por Feuerstein. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida por meio de dez oficinas mediacionais, nas quais se desenvolveu um trabalho com a leitura de uma história infantil e a partir dela atividades de leitura e de escrita no Sistema Braille. Participaram do estudo quatro crianças cegas, de seis e sete anos de uma instituição que atende pessoas com deficiência visual, na cidade de Uberaba/MG. Além das crianças, participaram também as mães e a professora responsável pela sala em que as crianças estudam. Consideramos que há necessidade de uma pesquisa mais aprofundada devido ao número reduzido de participantes.

Blind people must often rely on various types of Braille aids for reading. For blind students with little or no Braille-related knowledge, the use of an informational learning platform can effectively relieve the burden currently borne by their teachers or instructor. The OntoBraille@RFID (OBR) platform adopts ontological theory to retrieve Braille knowledge to facilitate learning, and a low-cost RFID for Braille character identification. This system is equipped with a voice device so students can learn independently. OBR is also equipped with administrative functions so parents can monitor the students’ learning progress. In contrast to currently available Braille learning devices, this new system can automatically expand the Braille database. Results from trials suggest that OBR can significantly improve the learning outcome for blind students. ORB has also obtained Chinese patent certification.

Some technological suggestions were proposed, which include: expanding its electronic and special collections, establishing a one-stop digital platform, AI-based chatbot for automated caring chats and reference services, and extending its social network marketing.Originality/valueScant studies focus on the information services and management of special libraries for visually impaired people, especially in East Asia. On the other hand, there are limited case studies analyzing libraries with value-chain analysis.
Este artigo analisa como ocorre a representação, com foco na Representação Descritiva, do livro em braille em Catálogos em Linha de Acesso Público – OPACs de três bibliotecas brasileiras, tencionando ...trazer à tona reflexões e discussões que circunscrevem a representação enquanto fator imprescindível para que os usuários deficientes visuais possam acessar e compreender os registros bibliográficos de livros em braille disponíveis em uma biblioteca. Para tanto, recorreu-se às pesquisas bibliográfica, documental e empírica. Na vertente empírica desta pesquisa, examinou-se os OPACs e os registros bibliográficos de livro em braille disponíveis em três bibliotecas brasileiras de caráter público, relacionando-os com os documentos normativos vigentes que norteiam a Representação Descritiva. Embora o foco da pesquisa tenha sido a Representação Descritiva, teceu-se uma breve crítica acerca da Representação Temática. Explicita os resultados da pesquisa, assim como arrola algumas recomendações para a confecção de OPACs e de registros bibliográficos mais responsivos aos usuários deficientes visuais.
