The textbook contains content related to the acquisition of goods necessary for an enterprise's day-to-day running. The supply processes for enterprises are currently very complex. The short life ...cycle of many products and the need to keep costs to a minimum make the procurement process very difficult. Identifying needs, selecting suppliers, negotiating purchase conditions, and choosing the type of transport, as well as the costs of procurement and creating and maintaining inventories, are numerous elements that make up the procurement process. The efficiency of the procurement process guarantees that the company will be competitive in the market. Savings and errors made at the initial stage of the procurement process affect the subsequent stages of production and service provision. In order to balance the supply and demand of a company's products, a large amount of information from different sources needs to be analyzed. For this analysis, well-qualified staff with high analytical competencies are necessary. They have tools such as IT systems to support material requirements planning and planning other enterprise resources.

Growing urbanization, increasing trade and investment due to integration, and emerging new business models like e-commerce are accelerating the demand for efficient logistics in each ASEAN country. ...The logistics sector is inherently complex due to its scope, ranging from physical infrastructure covering four modes of transport, customs, and services. Each of these sub-sectors is regulated by different government agencies, leading to complex challenges in each country's logistics sector. Policymaking has a tendency to be done piecemeal rather than integratively, while a more or less fragmented governance structure impedes implementation. ASEAN liberalization commitments focusses on raising the cap on foreign equity, while regulatory reform remains untouched. Also, flexibility offered in these commitments allows for non-compliance. Going forward, developing seamless logistics requires ASEAN countries to first overcome their domestic challenges. Each country needs to develop comprehensive plans, and effective implementation of these is essential. Liberalization commitments should complement domestic reforms in each country.
The aim of this research was to identify a mediation of resource based view (RBV) in relationship between supply chain management (SCM) and operational performance (OP), with samples from companies ...in Brazilian technology centers. For that an exploratory and descriptive study was made up of two phases. The first, qualitative data were collected in a sample of 10 companies and treatead by content analysis. The seconde of the quantitative type, preceded by pre-test, was collected data from a sample 125 companies and treated by multivariate statistics. The results showed that the RBV exert a mediating function between SCM an OP, because structutal coefficient and t values found in the model were higher in the presence of RBV than in the direct relation between SCM and OP. Keywords: Resource based view. Supply chain management. Operational performance. RBV. Gestao da cadeia de suprimentos. Desempenho operacional.

The unprecedented outbreak of COVID-19 has left many multinational enterprises facing extremely severe supply disruptions. Besides considering triple-bottom-line requirements, managers now also have ...to consider supply disruption due to the pandemic more seriously. However, existing research does not take these two key objectives into account simultaneously. To bridge this research gap, based on the characteristics of COVID-19 and similar global emergency events, this article proposes a model that aims to solve the problem of sustainable supplier selection and order allocation considering supply disruption in the COVID-19 era. It does so by using a multi-stage multi-objective optimization model applied to the different stages of development and spread of the pandemic. Then, a novel nRa-NSGA-II algorithm is proposed to solve the high-dimensional multi-objective optimization model. The applicability and effectiveness of the proposed model is illustrated in a well-known multinational producer of shortwave therapeutic instruments.
Although green supply chain integration (GSCI) is important, its influence on environmental innovation remains inconclusive. Based on information processing theory, we explore how the two dimensions ...of GSCI (i.e. green supplier and customer integration) affect two types of environmental innovation (i.e. incremental or radical environmental innovation) via information sharing and information redundancy, as well as the moderating role of knowledge combination. We test hypotheses using two-waved survey data from 206 Chinese manufacturers and structural equation model analysis. The results indicate that information sharing with customer mediates the impact of green customer integration on radical environmental innovation, while information redundancy mediates the effects of green supplier integration on environmental incremental and radical innovation. In addition, information sharing with supplier negatively affects information redundancy, while information sharing with customer positively affects information redundancy. We also find that knowledge combination strengthens the positive effects of information sharing with supplier and customer on incremental environmental innovation and the negative impact of information redundancy on radical environmental innovation. Our findings contribute to GSCI and environmental innovation literature.
Under the increased global uncertainty, this study extends prior research on sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) and firm performance by investigating the divergent performance outcomes ...between state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and non-SOEs, before and after the US- China trade conflict. Based on a sample of 7647 firm-year observations of Chinese listed firms, we found that SOEs experienced less severe performance impact from the trade conflict. Moreover, SOEs with more SSCM practices, including supplier management and customer cooperation, could harvest more performance improvement after the trade conflict, while non-SOEs receive performance reduction by doing so. Theoretical and practical implications are provided.
