Content Management System (CMS) is a system or software in developing content. What is meant by content is all forms of digital information, in the form of image files, audio, video, text and other ...computer files. CMS makes it easy to create attractive website pages without having to understand how to create a website from scratch. Likewise, Lancang Kuning University has created an Integrated CMS website or integrated with faculty websites at Lancang Kuning University, by creating one database but the frontend and backend templates can be customized as desired. With this integrated website, it will make it easier for the main admin and faculty admin to maintain the website, including in its development. This website was built using the concept of Object Oriented and using a codeigniter framework.C
An estimated 50 million Americans receive Medicare health care coverage. Prior studies have established a downward trend in Medicare reimbursement for commonly billed surgical procedures, but it is ...unclear whether these trends hold true across all neurosurgical procedures.
To assess trends in utilization, charges, and reimbursement by Medicare for neurosurgical procedures after passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010.
We review yearly Physician/Supplier Procedure Summary datasets from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for all procedures billed by neurosurgeons to Medicare Part B between 2011 and 2019. Procedural coding was categorized into cranial, spine, vascular, peripheral nerve, and radiosurgery cases. Weighted averages for charges and reimbursements adjusted for inflation were calculated. The ratio of the weighted mean reimbursement to weighted mean charge was calculated as the reimbursement-to-charge ratio, representing the proportion of charges reimbursed by Medicare.
Overall enrollment-adjusted utilization decreased by 12.1%. Utilization decreased by 24.0% in the inpatient setting but increased by 639% at ambulatory surgery centers and 80.2% in the outpatient setting. Inflation-adjusted, weighted mean charges decreased by 4.0% while reimbursement decreased by 4.6%. Procedure groups that saw increases in reimbursement included cervical spine surgery, cranial functional and epilepsy procedures, cranial pain procedures, and endovascular procedures. Ambulatory surgery centers saw the greatest increase in charges and reimbursements.
Although overall reimbursement declined across the study period, substantial differences emerged across procedural categories. We further find a notable shift in utilization and reimbursement for neurosurgical procedures done in non-inpatient care settings.
A search for the production of events containing three W bosons predicted by the standard model is reported. The search is based on a data sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass ...energy of 13 TeV recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC and corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb−1. The search is performed in final states with three leptons (electrons or muons), or with two same-charge leptons plus two jets. The observed (expected) significance of the signal for W±W±W∓ production is 0.60 (1.78) standard deviations, and the ratio of the measured signal yield to that expected from the standard model is 0.34−0.34+0.62. Limits are placed on three anomalous quartic gauge couplings and on the production of massive axionlike particles.
Current projections imply that the LHC will have only limited sensitivity to di-Higgs production in the Standard Model (SM), possibly even after the completion of its high luminosity phase. ...Multi-Higgs final states play a fundamental role in many extensions of the SM as they are intrinsically sensitive to modifications of the Higgs sector. Therefore, any new observation in multi-Higgs final states could be linked to a range of beyond the SM (BSM) phenomena that are not sufficiently addressed by the SM. Extensions of the Higgs sector typically lead to new phenomenological signatures in multi-Higgs final states that are vastly different from the SM expectation. In this work, we provide a range of signature-driven benchmark points for resonant and non-resonant BSM di-Higgs production that motivate non-SM kinematic correlations and multi-fermion discovery channels. Relying on theoretically well-motivated assumptions, special attention is paid to the particular case where the presence of new physics will dominantly manifest itself in multi-Higgs final states.
Philosophers of science are divided over the interpretations of scientific normativity. Larry Laudan defends a sort of goal-directed rules for scientific methodology. In contrast, Gerard Doppelt ...thinks methodological rules are a mixed batch of rules in that some are goal-oriented hypothetical rules and others are goal-independent categorical rules. David Resnik thinks that the debate between them is at a standstill now. He further thinks there are certain rules, such as the rule of consistency which is goal independent. However, he proposes a holistic understanding of the scientific methodology. Taking a thread from Resnik, the present paper also advocates a holistic understanding of the scientific methodology. Given that many scientific practices deal with systems, the focus will be given to the systems by assuming each as a constellation of methodological norms. By taking each system as a set of mutually supportive methodological rules whose instrumental values underwrite the coherence relation among them, the paper aims to provide what could be a viable holistic epistemological account that can explain scientific normativity at work in a scientific system. The paper will lay down specific holistic criteria for understanding the scientific methodology. They will be used to show how a holistic account could satisfactorily account for the success of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment in discovering the Higgs boson and how the holistic account can account for the instrumental error behind the apparent faster-than-light neutrino anomaly of the Oscillation Project with Emulsion-t Racking Apparatus (OPERA) experiments respectively.
With stakeholder focus on the United States organ procurement system, there is a need for tools that permit comparative assessment of organ procurement providers. We developed a public-facing ...dashboard for organ procurement organizations (OPOs), using data from multiple sources, to create an online, readily accessible visualization of OPO practice conditions and performance for the period 2010-2020. With this tool, OPOs can be compared on the CMS metric of donors procured per 100 donation-consistent deaths, as well as donation after circulatory death procurement, procurement of older and minority patient populations, procurement in smaller hospitals, and procurement of patients without a significant drug history. Patterns of higher performance were identified, and 74% of differences in overall donor procurement rates could be explained using model variables. Procurement differences were affected to a greater and more reproducible degree by OPO performance among Black and non-White patient populations, as well as in smaller hospitals, than by donation service area characteristics. Dashboards such as ours support OPOs and stakeholders in quality improvement actions, through leveraging benchmarked performance data among organ procurement clinical providers.
A search for invisible decays of a Higgs boson is performed using proton-proton collision data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC in 2016 at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV, ...corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. The search targets the production of a Higgs boson via vector boson fusion. The data are found to be in agreement with the background contributions from standard model processes. An observed (expected) upper limit of 0.33 (0.25), at 95% confidence level, is placed on the branching fraction of the Higgs boson decay to invisible particles, assuming standard model production rates and a Higgs boson mass of 125.09 GeV. Results from a combination of this analysis and other direct searches for invisible decays of the Higgs boson, performed using data collected at $\sqrt{s}=$ 7, 8, and 13 TeV, are presented. An observed (expected) upper limit of 0.19 (0.15), at 95% confidence level, is set on the branching fraction of invisible decays of the Higgs boson. The combined limit represents the most stringent bound on the invisible branching fraction of the Higgs boson reported to date. This result is also interpreted in the context of Higgs-portal dark matter models, in which upper bounds are placed on the spin-independent dark-matter-nucleon scattering cross section.
•Effectively build adolescent depression model by NMD + CMS, manifested by depression- and anxiety-like behaviors and cognitive dysfunction.•Neuroinflammation reaction mediated by microglial ...activation was related to adolescent depression induced by NMD + CMS stress.•PI3k/Akt/NF-κB pathway could be involved in the NMD + CMS induced animal model.•Sertraline exerted antidepressive effect in NMD + CMS induced adolescent animal model.
The early-life aversive experiences are associated with the increased risk for adolescent neuropsychiatric disorders and neuroinflammation. So, we used neonatal maternal deprivation (NMD) and chronic mild stress (CMS) to build adolescent depression model and investigate the role of microglia activation, PI3K/Akt/NF-κB pathway in female rats. Pups in NMD group were separated from mothers for 3 h each day from postnatal day (PND) 2 to PND 21 and rats in CMS group were subjected to one mild stressor each day from PND 22 to PND 42. Sucrose preference test (SPT), open field test (OFT), novel objective recognition test (NORT), Elevated-plus maze (EPM), marble burying test (MBT) and forced swimming test (FST) were performed from PND 42 to PND 50. Iba-1, pPI3K/PI3K, pAkt/Akt, and NF-κB expressions in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) and hippocampus (HIP) were detected by Western-Blot. Contents of IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α were detected by ELISA method. It was found NMD + CMS increased the immobility time, buried marble number, inflammatory cytokines release and reduced the sucrose consumption ratio, time ratio and distance ratio in open arm, crossing times, rearing times. Furthermore, it decreased the discrimination ratio (DR) and discrimination index (DI) in T2 phase. NMD + CMS upregulated the expression of Iba-1, pPI3K/PI3K, pacts/Akt, and NF-κB in PFC and HIP. NMD or CMS solely didn’t affect all these behaviors in rats. Sertraline treatment reversed these changes after NMD + CMS. In view of our findings we propose the NMD + CMS procedure as a potentially useful animal model to analyze developmental emotional behaviors and cognitive dysfunction in adolescent female rats, which may be related with microglial activation and PI3k/Akt/NF-κB pathway upregulation.
Triple-GEM detectors for the GE2/1 and ME0 stations of the endcap muon system for the Phase-2 upgrade of the CMS Experiment have been operated in a test beam to measure their efficiency and spatial ...resolution, together with a high spatial resolution triple-GEM tracker. A production module of GE2/1 detectors and a prototype ME0 detector show excellent local efficiency. A prototype detector with GEM foils employing random hole sectorization showed significant reduction of dead areas. The spatial resolution of the tracker has been measured and found close to the expected value of 75µm.
