As for the treatment for injuries of the main pancreatic duct, removal or reconstruction of the pancreas is reliable; however, the treatment method for pancreatic injuries (type IIIb) (JAST) has not ...been established yet. There were 14 cases of pancreatic injuries (type IIIb) in our hospital and relevant institutions encountered within 28 years, and emergency Endoscopic Retrograde Pancreatography (ERP) was performed 10 times (one of them being in surgery). As for the treatment method, pancreaticoduodenectomy was performed in 5 cases, distal pancreatectomy in 3, the Letton & Wilson approach in 3, and 1 case each for suturing the main pancreatic duct, drainage treatment and endoscopic stent treatment. Although one patient died at the beginning of surgery, the overall results were still satisfactory. When the surgical approach is considered, reliable evaluation of the main pancreatic duct is very important and ERP is very useful. According to the different symptoms, there will be some cases in which surgery can be avoided by using endoscopic stent placement. ERP will gradually become more important.
Blockchain technology offers immense potential for increasing efficiency by streamlining business operations. However, blockchain implementation is disruptive and requires high capital organizational ...processes as it fundamentally re-engineers and automates business processes. By integrating blockchain with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERPs), organizations can enjoy the benefits of blockchain adoption with minimal disruption to their business model. The resources regarding integration of blockchain systems and ERP are scarce and dispersed as their applications are in different niches. Thus, there is a need for a study of literature that investigates blockchain and ERP integration and find its key success factors. This systematic literature review (SLR) investigates the key success factors of blockchain and ERP integration and finds the context of integration to derive meaningful insights regarding its application in different functional areas. A list of key success factors is identified. They could be broadly classified into three contexts – technological, organizational, and regulatory. Also important is the environment and sustainability of the integration. This study was able to conclude that the integration of ERP systems with blockchain will enhance the capabilities of current ERP systems by providing value propositions of the decentralized ledgers such as increased transparency, trust, and process automation.
The COVID-19 pandemic crisis has forced firms to leverage information and digital technologies to resist its disruptive effects. The shift to digital, however, requires the availability of ...information infrastructure, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), that can enable effective digitisation of processes and practices.
This paper investigates the role of the pandemic crisis on boosting intentions to adopt ERP systems in SMEs by mitigating the barrier factors that hinder their adoption.
To investigate the impact of the pandemic on ERP adoption decisions, we ran a quantitative study among 147 SMEs in the Veneto region in Italy and applied a fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis model to study them. Our results show that the pandemic crisis has boosted this adoption, shaping the configuration of conditions that characterise ERP adoption.

Although Blockchain can significantly change the future of ERP systems as an innovative tech-nology, few researchers have gone into the details of this development. Most have given an overview of the ...changes ahead. Therefore, in this research, we have tried to use the method of Exploratory Content Analysis (ECA) by reviewing more than three hundred scientific articles in the field of Blockchain to analyze the effects of this technology on ERP system modules such as supply chain management, maintenance, finance, project management, manufacturing, and hu-man capital management. The result of this exploratory research is an architectural model for a blockchain-based ERP system. The researchers describe the functions of this system carefully, and the role of supporting technologies such as Smart Contract, IoT, Digital Wallet, Cloud Com-puting, and Building Information Model is clarified. We genuinely believe that this research could use as a reference model for ERP vendors and researchers in information systems and business process management
•In predictive coding, unexpected inputs will create hierarchical prediction errors (PE).•We applied local-global oddball auditory paradigm in chronic pain and healthy controls.•Chronic pain is ...linked to increased lower-level PE and decreased higher-level PE.•Increased theta phase-locking during stimulus-driven PE was correlated with pain perception.
The ability to perceive pain presents an interesting evolutionary advantage to adapt to an ever-changing environment. However, in the case of chronic pain (CP), pain perception hinders the capacity of the system to adapt to changing sensory environments. Similar to other chronic perceptual disorders, CP is also proposed to be a maladaptive compensation to aberrant sensory predictive processing. The local-global oddball paradigm relies on learning hierarchical rules and processing environmental irregularities at a local and global level. Prediction errors (PE) between actual and predicted input typically trigger an update of the forward model to limit the probability of encountering future PEs. It has been hypothesised that CP hinders forward model updating, reflected in increased local deviance and decreased global deviance. In the present study, we used the local-global paradigm to examine how CP influences hierarchical learning relative to healthy controls. As hypothesised, we observed that deviance in the stimulus characteristics evoked heightened local deviance and decreased global deviance of the stimulus-driven PE. This is also accompanied by respective changes in theta phase locking that is correlated with the subjective pain perception. Changes in the global deviant in the stimulus-driven-PE could also be explained by dampened attention-related responses. Changing the context of the auditory stimulus did not however show a difference in the context-driven PE. These findings suggest that CP is accompanied by maladaptive forward model updating where the constant presence of pain perception disrupts local deviance in non-nociceptive domains. Furthermore, we hypothesise that the auditory-processing based biomarker identified here could be a marker of domain-general dysfunction that could be confirmed by future research.
Graphic abstracts of the PE processing comparison between healthy and chronic pain group. This figure depicts the main principles of predictive coding. (a) In this theory, the brain maintains an active model of the world based on the accumulation of previous experiences and inputs. Based on that, any bottom-up inputs will be matched with top-down predictions. Any discrepancy between input and prediction will create a prediction error (PE). As shown in the figure, the system operates in a hierarchical fashion where lower-level PE will update higher predictions that will cyclically minimise PE at the lower levels. (b) To support that, in this study the healthy controls increased later, more complex attentive responses (P300) while minimising their response to local changes (MMN). (c) However, due to the aberrant predictive processing, the chronic pain group showed a reduced response to global deviants (P300) and an increased response to local deviants (MMN).

A significant concern in our society is the potential impact on both health and the environment of air pollutants released during the incineration of waste. Therefore, it is crucial to conduct ...thorough control and monitoring measures. In this context, the objective of this research was to study the evolution of particulate matter (PM2.5) and associated trace elements during the period before and after the installation of an Energy Recovery Plant (ERP). For that, a descriptive and temporal analysis of PM2.5 concentration and composition were performed on two similar areas (impact/control) using the Before-After/Control-Impact (BACI) design and two periods (before from January 01, 2018 to February 06, 2020 and after from December 10, 2020 to September 30, 2022). Results showed a decrease in the levels of PM2.5 and associated trace elements is observed in the impact zone (IZ) and in the control zone (CZ) throughout the study period. In the case of PM2.5, the most notable decrease occurred in the period of the start-up of the ERP, a period that coincides with the confinement and restrictions of COVID, with a subsequent increase in both zones, without reaching the levels observed in the period prior to the start-up of the ERP. Selenium is the only trace element that increases significantly in the IZ. In conclusion, a decrease is observed for all pollutants except selenium in both zones, although less pronounced in the IZ. Since selenium already showed an upward trend in the phase prior to the start of the ERP, it is necessary to investigate its evolution and find out the possible cause.

•Air quality assessment with BACI design after the start-up of an ERP.•PM2.5 and trace elements levels remained below pre-ERP levels.•Selenium was the only pollutant with increased levels in the post-ERP period.
Utilizing the high temporal resolution of event-related potentials (ERPs), we compared the time course of processing incongruent color versus 3D-depth information. Participants were asked to judge ...whether the food color (color condition) or 3D structure (3D-depth condition) was congruent or incongruent with their previous knowledge and experience. The behavioral results showed that the reaction times in the congruent 3D-depth condition were slower than those in the congruent color condition. The reaction times in the incongruent 3D-depth condition were slower than those in the incongruent color condition. The ERP results showed that incongruent color stimuli induced a larger N270, larger P300, and smaller N400 components in the fronto-central region than the congruent color stimuli. Incongruent 3D-depth stimuli induced a smaller N1 in the occipital region, larger P300 and smaller N400 in the parietal-occipital region than congruent 3D-depth stimuli. The time–frequency analysis found that incongruent color stimuli induced a larger theta band (360–580 ms) activation in the fronto-central region than congruent color stimuli. Incongruent 3D-depth stimuli induced larger alpha and beta bands (240–350 ms) activation in the parietal region than congruent 3D-depth stimuli. Our results suggest that the human brain deals with violating general color or depth knowledge in different time courses. We speculate that the depth perception conflict was dominated by solving the problem with visual processing, whereas the color perception conflict was dominated by solving the problem with semantic violation.
•Incongruent color stimuli induced N270 components but not incongruent depth ones.•Incongruent depth stimuli induced N1 components but not incongruent color ones.•Incongruent color and depth stimuli induced P300 and N400 components.•Incongruent color stimuli induced theta band activation.•Incongruent depth stimulus induced alpha and beta bands activation.
Despite the recognition that the surface Laplacian may counteract adverse effects of volume conduction and recording reference for surface potential data, electrophysiology as a discipline has been ...reluctant to embrace this approach for data analysis. The reasons for such hesitation are manifold but often involve unfamiliarity with the nature of the underlying transformation, as well as intimidation by a perceived mathematical complexity, and concerns of signal loss, dense electrode array requirements, or susceptibility to noise. We revisit the pitfalls arising from volume conduction and the mandated arbitrary choice of EEG reference, describe the basic principle of the surface Laplacian transform in an intuitive fashion, and exemplify the differences between common reference schemes (nose, linked mastoids, average) and the surface Laplacian for frequently-measured EEG spectra (theta, alpha) and standard event-related potential (ERP) components, such as N1 or P3. We specifically review common reservations against the universal use of the surface Laplacian, which can be effectively addressed by employing spherical spline interpolations with an appropriate selection of the spline flexibility parameter and regularization constant. We argue from a pragmatic perspective that not only are these reservations unfounded but that the continued predominant use of surface potentials poses a considerable impediment on the progress of EEG and ERP research.
•Interpretational shortcomings arising from an EEG reference choice are revisited.•The basic principle of a surface Laplacian (SL) transform is explained in an intuitive fashion.•Typical EEG spectra and ERP components are compared for SL and common EEG references.•Concerns against SL use can be remedied by appropriate spherical spline interpolation.•Pragmatic arguments advocate SL use over surface potentials to advance EEG/ERP research.
