The associations between morningness-eveningness, conscientiousness, and religiosity have not been investigated to date. The aim of the present research was to provide evidence for the relationships ...between these dimensions. Moreover, we tested whether the well-established link between morningness and life satisfaction could be explained by elevated religiosity of morning-oriented individuals and whether this relationship may be mediated by conscientiousness. The investigation was conducted on two independent samples of Polish adults (N = 500 and N = 728). Our results corroborated earlier findings that morningness was positively associated with both conscientiousness and satisfaction with life. We also found evidence for a significant positive association between morningness and religiosity. Moreover, controlling for age and gender, we obtained significant mediation effects showing that the association between morningness-eveningness and satisfaction with life might stem, at least in part, from the higher religiosity among morning-oriented individuals, also when conscientiousness was included in the model. It means that more morning-oriented individuals may benefit from higher psychological well-being thanks to both personality characteristics and attitudes towards religion.
This study aims to measure the economic benefits of business mediation in Brazil compared to lawsuits, investigating whether choosing mediation to resolve a business conflict is more economically ...advantageous than filing a lawsuit in the judiciary and whether opting for extrajudicial mediation to settle a business dispute is more economically advantageous than reaching an agreement in judicial mediation. The research, conducted in the Southeast region of Brazil after the implementation of the Brazilian Code of Civil Procedure in 2016, employed quantitative methods, analyzing 397 judicial processes. The results indicated that extrajudicial mediation is the most cost-effective option, while the judicial lawsuit is the most costly. Los resultados indicaron que la mediacion extrajudicial es la opcion mas economica, mientras que la via judicial es la mas costosa. The multi-layered cultural structure of the Mamluk Kipchak area can be seen in the language of the period. The linguistic evolution of the Turkmens and Kipchaks, the initial settlers of the region, ...is documented in contemporary grammars and dictionaries. The language of the Eastern Turks also became incorporated as their numbers in the region gradually increased. This study investigates the vocabulary used in al-Qavânîn al-Kulliyya li-Ẓabṭ al-Luġat at-Turkiyya , one of the grammars of the period. The first stage of the study was to identify words with the same meanings and equivalent pairs that may be indicators of how the dialect of the period has changed. The status of the words which were considered to be indicators of the dialectal differences between the historical text, and that of the Turkic languages of contemporary Oghuz and Kipchak groups, was then analysed. Results indicate that 37.03% of the fifty-eight words analysed in this study still exist in contemporary Oghuz, while 25.93% are still present, and even have the same meaning, in contemporary Kipchak. The rate of equivalent pairs identified in this historical text was 37.03%.
Cross-border migration is increasing in a globalized world. On the physical borderlands, migration across and between borders occurs on a habitual basis. This qualitative study employs ...semi-structured interviews to explore how three transfronterizo teachers along the U.S.-Mexico borderlands draw on their backgrounds and lived experiences as they go about in their English teaching practices. Findings suggest that the diverse lived experiences of the three teachers allow them to develop a particular knowledge, consciousness, and agency in creating a third space, or a mundo zurdo, in which they advocate for their transfronterizo students. En las zonas fronterizas fisicas, la migracion entre fronteras ocurre de manera habitual. Este estudio cualitativo emplea entrevistas semiestructuradas para explorar como tres profesores/as transfronterizos/as a lo largo de la zona fronteriza de Estados Unidos y Mexico incorporan su pasado y sus vivencias al desempenarse en sus practicas docentes de ingles. Los resultados sugieren que las diversas vivencias de los tres profesores les permiten desarrollar conocimiento, conciencia y poder al crear un tercer espacio, o un "mundo zurdo", en el cual abogan por sus estudiantes transfronterizos/as. En el marco de la ampliacion metodologica propuesta por el pensador mendocino Arturo Roig, exponemos la necesidad de una simbolica o semiotica latinoamericana y desentrahamos la teoria del simbolo ...roigeana, en su doble faceta: axiologia y normatividad. Luego, reflexionamos sobre la distincion entre significado y sentido que nos permite abrirnos al sistema metaforico implicito en las palabras como marcas semanticas. Ulteriormente explicitamos las caracteristicas del universo simbolico: conflictividad, dualismo discursivo y reversion, para asi mostrar la interpretacion roigeana del Caliban como ejemplo de reversion de la funcion simbolica. Posteriormente, profundizamos en la vertiente feminista de interpretacion de la figura Sycorax como simbolo de resistencia y liberacion. Finalmente, destacamos la importancia del pahuelo como simbolo y la lucha de las mujeres en sus inclaudicables luchas por sus derechos.

In this article I present a series of reflections on the concept of graffiti. What begins as a critique of the ideological relation between "street art" and "graffiti" on the one hand and "center" ...and "periphery" on the other, unfolds as a schematic exploration of the relation between graffiti and social crisis. These theses argue that graffiti can and should be interpreted, and that this interpretation depends upon analyzing graffiti's character as both text and image. In doing so they explore graffiti in crisis across the American hemisphere, moving from "center" to "periphery" and back again. In the ruin of New York, the commune of Oaxaca, the explosion of Santiago, we catch a vivid glimpse of the social form and latent content of graffiti. In the current research, the productivity of COsub.2 photoreduction has been boosted by performing the reaction in an innovative photocatalytic reactor, which allows for operation up to 20 bar. A set ...of photocatalysts were used, including three types of pristine TiOsub.2, i.e., one commercially prepared (Evonik P25), one home-prepared by flame spray pyrolysis (FSP), and one obtained by the hydrolysis of TiClsub.4 (TiOsub.2exCl), a bare thermo-exfoliated carbon nitride (Csub.3Nsub.4-TE), and binary materials composed of TiOsub.2 and Csub.3Nsub.4-TE. The photoreduction was carried out in water at pH 14 and in the presence of Nasub.2SOsub.3 as a hole scavenger. Hydrogen and very small amounts of CO were detected in the head space of the photoreactor, while in the liquid phase, the main product was formic acid, along with traces of methanol and formaldehyde. The composites P25/TE and TiOsub.2exCl/TE were found to have a higher productivity if compared to its single constituents used alone, probably due to the heterojunction formed by coupling the two materials. Moreover, the high pressure applied in the photoreactor proved to be very effective in boosting the yield of the organic products.
