The goal of this study is to analyse the scientific productivity of Montenegrin researchers in the field of sports sciences, as well as the trend of publishing in Montenegrin sports sciences ...journals. The research covers studies with a focus on the sports sciences issues published in the period from 2002 to 2019. Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science (the electronic databases) were searched for articles available until September 22, 2021. Results were summarized according to the instructions of PRISMA guidelines and present the number of citations, h-index, i10-index and the number of articles by the authors. The study results shows that researchers from the field of sports sciences publish multiple publications in 2021 compared to 2002. In Google scholar database citation rate is highest, and span from 596 and 14959. On the other side, the same researchers were cited quite less in Scopus and Web of Science databases. When we talk about Montenegrin journals, three are registered in the Google Scholar Database. The Sport Mont journal is the most cited one with the highest h-index (44); the Montenegrin Journal of Sports Science and Medicine is the best ranked Montenegrin journal according to the bibliometric data from the Scopus and Web of Science databases; the Journal of Anthropology of Sport and Physical Education have constant progress in the last years. It was indicated the highest impact was recognized in the last four years, according to citations of available articles published by Montenegrin authors. Also, the number of published articles in the last four year is significant, and progress can be expected in the future.
It has been 100 days since the War in Ukraine began. On this occasion, the Embassy of Ukraine in Montenegro organized a support march in Cetinje. In contrast, this city has also been known for ...protests to support the Russian invasion. Similar contrasts are visible in the decision of Montenegro to join EU sanctions against Moscow in April, including a ban on Russian airlines in its airspace and Russian state media. Sanctions were adopted after three failed attempts due to differences in opinions within the Government of Zdravko Krivokapić. Despite this, the stand of Montenegrin citizens is straightforward: every invasion should be condemned. Montenegro's controversial and complicated relations with Russia also reflect political and media coverage of the War in Ukraine. This paper aims to show how the War in Ukraine has been presented in the Montenegrin media and what are the official views of the Montenegrin establishment. We will analyze in what way and how (un)biased the Montenegrin media presented the development of the situation from day today and how this reporting influenced the formation of public opinion.
One lycophyte genus and species ( Isoëtes gymnocarpa ), and one aquatic magnoliophyte species ( Utricularia × neglecta ) new for the flora of Montenegro are reported. It is suggested that the new ...population of Isoëtes gymnocarpa and its habitat should be protected.
Purpose: The purpose of the paper is to investigate the role of civil aviation in the case of Montenegro, one of the smallest countries in Europe and one whose economy heavily relies on tourism. ...Methods: For this research, a dynamic panel data approach is used, where five models are proposed for modelling tourism demand. Available seats per kilometer, the Herfindahl-Hirschman index, jet fuel prices, exchange rates, and seasonality are used as the models' explanatory variables, in line with the available litetrature. Results: The econometric results show that all suggested models are valid, the explanatory variables are statistically significant, and their coefficients have the expected sign, suggesting a strong relationship between tourism demand and civil aviation. Implications: Apart from being one of the first attempts to highlight the civil aviation and tourism nexus in the context of Montenegro, this paper contributes to the literature by suggesting a way forward for destination managers and policymakers in small countries with great tourism potential.
Leishmaniosis (or leishmaniasis) is a neglected parasitosis most commonly transmitted by the sandfly bite. Changes in temperature, precipitation, and humidity can greatly affect the vectors and ...reservoir hosts. This study aimed to determine the association between temperature, air humidity, and weather conditions with the incidence of leishmaniasis in Montenegro during a seven-decade period (1945-2014) and to statistically compare and correlate the obtained data. In the studied period, there were 165 registered cases of leishmaniosis, 96.4%, in the coastal and central region of Montenegro, with an average incidence rate of 0.45/100.000. The visceral form of leishmaniosis predominated (99% of the cases), with only one case of cutaneous disease. Climate factors (average temperature, air humidity, and precipitation) had an impact on the occurrence of leishmaniosis in Montenegro. Air temperature elevated by 1 °C in all regions of Montenegro was significantly correlated with an increased incidence of leishmaniosis, by 0.150 (0.013 to 0.287;
< 0.05). In order to improve prevention and control of this disease, it is also necessary to investigate other factors with a possible impact on the number of cases of this neglected parasitosis.
In this paper we will examine the study of sports journalism in our country and in the world. In the United States there is sports journalism as a special study program at faculties of journalism, it ...lasts for four years and it is represented at well-known universities. It takes two years to acquire a master’s degree. Their studies include subjects about sports discipline, besides multimedia subjects, and obligatory professional practice. In England, the biggest diff erence is that obtaining a bachelor’s degree requires three years of schooling. In the region, there is a study programs of sports journalism at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Niksic since 2007, as well as at a private University Union in Belgrade. Many leading journalists in sports and informative journalism studied at the Faculty in Niksic. Regarding to the region, while we were analyzing the study program in Niksic, we noticed a greater number of subjects in sports science than in journalism. The number of sports subjects is almost symbolically smaller at the Belgrade University. Unlike before, the Montenegrin study program is now academic and free for students enrolled regularly, who study together with sports trainers for the fi rst two years, and in the third year they choose a sports journalist module.
