Hungarian sociography describes society and social problems in an easily understandable way. Sociographic writings do not neglect the political purpose, which creates a specific knowledge about the ...society within a limited public. Despite the heterogeneity of the genre, the central element of sociographic work is the critique of the dysfunctionality of the existing social system, urging social change. Sociography has not had the conditions to become a science. It remained an area on the border of politics – science – literature. All three at once; however, neither of them. The problem of the institutionalization of sociography means that its importance can be determined through the examination of its task.
Burawoy’s theory on public sociology argues that the knowledge of society expressed in scientific language needs to be adapted to the common language. Based on the characteristics of Hungarian sociography, the main goal is to adapt Burawoy’s approach on public sociology to sociography. This article presents the peculiarities of Hungarian sociographic knowledge production and transmission during the 20
century and attempts to place sociography in Burawoy’s system.
La place des hauts fonctionnaires dans le champ du pouvoir est une question qui traverse les recherches en sociologie et science politique. Des travaux s'intéressent à la construction de la ...domination bureaucratique, d'autres au rôle de différents types d'acteurs dans la conduite de l'action publique, d'autres encore réalisent la sociographie des microcosmes dans lesquels s'insèrent les élites administratives. Si la connaissance des champs bureaucratiques nationaux et internationaux a connu des avancées ces dernières années, la notion de capital bureaucratique mérite aussi que l'on s'y arrête. Pour ce faire, il est intéressant de se pencher – comme l'ont fait Pierre Bourdieu et Rosine Christin dans leur étude pionnière de la réforme de la politique du logement dans les années 1970 – sur les moments de réforme. Ces derniers donnent en effet à voir les ressources que procure ce capital à ses détenteurs, et la façon dont ils les mobilisent. Ainsi, après avoir discuté sa portée théorique, l'article propose d'illustrer le pouvoir heuristique de ce concept à partir d'un cas empirique, celui de la réforme du système financier français par le cabinet Bérégovoy et la direction du Trésor dans les années 1980. L'étude montre comment les deux formes de capital bureaucratique, à base technique et à base d'expérience, s'opposent et se complètent, et comment l'analyse, nécessairement relationnelle, des rapports de force qu'elles génèrent implique de tenir compte à la fois de la structure de l'espace social et du contexte sociohistorique.

Przedstawiona ...koncepcja rykoszetów upodmiotowienia nazywa szczególną strukturę procesową odnalezioną w wywiadach i krytycznie rozwija popularną metaforę trajektorii. Charakteryzuje proces wypracowywania przez artystów osobnego projektu życiowo-twórczego na tle twórczości mistrzów, działań współczesnych konkurentów, dawnych nurtów dyskursu sztuki nowoczesnej, jak i aktualnej struktury pozycji w lokalnym polu sztuki. W tekście zostały bliżej omówione fragmenty wywiadu z polską rzeźbiarką, performerką oraz autorką instalacji i filmów wideo Katarzyną Kozyrą, które najsilniej zainspirowały opisywaną koncepcję. Forma literacka głównej części tekstu jest próbą szukania sposobu na uprawianie socjografii - snucie opowieści przedstawiającej, idiograficznej, ale będącej zarazem efektem pracy analitycznej i teoretycznej. The paper presents a theoretical proposal grounded in the material of non-anonymous autobiographical narrative interviews with renowned Polish visual artists.
Secularism is a difficult concept to pinpoint. Indeed, it has never been officially defined, even in the few countries where secularism figures as one of the founding principles of the constitution. ...If anything, the meanings attributed to secularism evolve according to historical contexts and political issues. This encourages the spread of multiple representations-all legitimate-of what secularism might be, in turn feeding the scientific debate. To researchers, the inherent polysemy of the term secularism evokes the dynamic nature of the social reality they seek to analyze. This text, aligned with this perspective, stresses the importance of sociographic research on secularism, including the study of its historical trajectories, philosophical foundations, legal underpinnings and the social debates it provokes and that prove essential for a comprehensive analysis of the topic.

Ce numéro est consacré à la manière dont les acteurs, principalement des médecins et des juristes, problématisent les rapports entre justice et médecine dans deux types de situations : lorsque des ...médecins apportent leurs concours à l’institution judiciaire dans le cadre d’une mission qui leur est confiée ; lorsque des médecins sont mis en cause devant les tribunaux pour des faits de pratique. Si cette courte introduction ne permet pas de restituer l’ensemble des travaux qui ont abordé ces situations, on peut néanmoins indiquer quelques grandes orientations afin de préciser les apports des articles que nous présentons ici. L’institution judiciaire fait un large recours aux médecins, en tant qu’experts occasionnels ou dans le cadre de l’activité qu’ils exercent dans des services dédiés. Des travaux se sont intéressés à la professionnalisation de l’expertise judiciaire. D’un point de vue historique, ils ont analysé l’ascension, au cours du XIXe siècle, du groupe professionnel des médecins légistes, la construction des savoirs médico-légaux et l’institutionnalisation de la médecine légale comme discipline (Dumoulin, 1999 ; Chauvaud, 2000). Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have been successful for ten years. This article aims to explore the reasons of such success, using original means. The way the J-PAL (which the main laboratory in ...the field) works explains the spread of the method. I made a database of J-PAL affiliated to show how their studies and their professional positions in universities could be an explanation of the RCTs success. The legitimacy of the method comes partly from the fact that the affiliated hold, for most of them, PhD from prestigious universities and work in Ivy League universities.

Cet article propose d’aborder la campagne des élections législatives de juin 2012 menée par le Parti Pirate français. Nous examinons comment cette organisation partisane, qui a la particularité de ...s’appuyer sur la cyberculture pour définir sa démarche politique, tente de transgresser les règles du jeu politique. En effet, le Parti Pirate et ses militants souhaitent hacker la politique en concevant et en pratiquant différemment celle-ci. Dès lors, la campagne électorale Pirate apparaît être un cas pratique pertinent pour saisir comment les candidats et l’organisation Pirate tentent de pratiquer la politique. Nous analysons tout d’abord la sociographie des candidats et des suppléants Pirates, puis la stratégie et l’organisation de la campagne, tant à l’échelle des candidats/suppléants que de l’organisation Pirate. Enfin, nous montrons les conséquences politiques et organisationnelles de cette campagne électorale.
Based on the thematic analysis of 39 semi-structured interviews conducted with mothers from the Rimouski area as part of a broader sociography on the formation, development and aspirations of ...families with preschool-age children, this article focuses on the diversity of the ways in which mothers are engaged or committed. Three types of engagement paths are identified and confirm that the reality, desires and needs of mothers are neither homogeneous nor unchangeable even if they share similar age ranges, contexts of life and educational backgrounds.
