In this essay we try to recall that the history (but also the present) of Hungarian sociology or sociography is often represented as a ‘crisis-history’, and the question often arises of whether it ...can say anything relevant about the past and present, about the thing we call ‘reality’ or ‘life’. It is also a resurfacing charge that Hungarian Literature is in a crisis, too – that it doesn’t say anything ‘valid’ or ‘realistic’ about Hungarian society. Nevertheless, here we examine whether Hungarian literature can inspire sociologists by showing topics which could be perhaps considered as taboos, and whether it can or could contribute to the formation of historical memory. Furthermore, we give a sketchy overview of its points of contact with social sciences, first of all with sociology and sociography, as well as with politics, and the role that professionals in these areas assign to themselves. It is done in a context in which humanities and arts are often charged by political actors of being useless. Some time ago, sociology and sociography were considered dangerous (as well as ‘bourgeois’) because of their critical stance, as disciplines that needed to be controlled. On the other hand, Hungarian writers are regularly accused of not dealing with Hungarian ‘realities’, while their role in the intellectual sphere is rapidly diminishing.

Gewählt hat der Autor "Die Arbeitslosen von ...Marienthal" (JAHODA, LAZARSFELD & ZEISEL 1975 1933) zur Illustration der Ethnografie und der teilnehmenden Beobachtung, die Studie zu arbeitslosen Lehrerinnen und Lehrern (ULICH, HAUSSER, MAYRING, STREHMEL & KANDLER 1985) zur Diskussion des Expert*inneninterviews und der Inhaltsanalyse, die Untersuchung zu Gemeindezusammenlegungen und kommunalen Machtstrukturen (SCHÜTZE 1976) für das narrative Interview und die Narrationsanalyse sowie "Awareness of Dying" (GLASER & STRAUSS 1965) für die Diskussion der Grounded-Theory-Methodologie. Jede der vorgestellten Studien wird mit Bezug auf zwei unterschiedliche Gütekriterien qualitativer Forschung beurteilt. Patrick HEISERs Text ist ein verständlich geschriebenes Einführungswerk, das Studierenden der Soziologie und angrenzender Gebiete einen fundierten Einblick in häufig eingesetzte Erhebungs- und insbesondere Auswertungsmethoden gibt.
There is a long tradition of mixed methods research in the social sciences: Marienthal: The Sociography of an Unemployed Community by Marie Jahoda, Paul Lazarsfeld et al. (1933) was pioneering in ...this regard as it combined various types of data. Today, mixedmethods research and triangulation studies are popular in social scientific fields such as sociology, education sciences, and economics, and a number of comprehensive books have been published on the subject. The focus of this international workshop is on linking quantitative datasets with qualitative studies. Methodologically integrated study designs combine different perspectives on social phenomena. Le présent article se propose d’interroger le processus de normalisation à l’œuvre, au sein de la médecine générale, à partir d’un triple corpus des données recueillies dans plus de 800 articles de ...la revue Prescrire et une série d’entretiens auprès des médecins généralistes exerçant en libéral (N = 20) et étudiés en amont dans le cadre des séances d’observation in situ dans leur cabinet médical (N = 100h). L’ambition dépasse le seul cadre d’une sociographie des pratiques des soins et rend compte du contexte normatif qui cherche à réguler la production du pathos porteur de label médical. Étudiées au prisme des normes véhiculées dans la revue Prescrire, les relations soignants/soignés en œuvre dans les cabinets des généralistes participent de la fabrique des « anormaux », au même titre que les représentations qui parcourent les récits de ces soignants. L’article montre alors la place centrale que la médecine générale occupe au sein de ce processus, face à l’obsession contemporaine de la normalité, recouvrant à la fois l’élaboration collective des conduites individuelles, jugées non conformes selon un état de santé estimé pathologique, et le projet sociomédical de les « corriger ». Signaler la déviance biologique suffirait-il alors pour générer de la déviance sociale ?
