The importance of quickly assessing personality traits in many studies prompted the development of brief scales such as the Ten-Item Personality Inventory (TIPI), a measure of five personality traits ...(extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, and openness). In the current study, we present the Portuguese version of TIPI and examine its psychometric properties, based on a sample of 333 Portuguese adults aged 18 to 65 years. The results revealed reliability coefficients similar to the original version (α = 0.39-0.72), very good 4-week test-retest reliability (
= 81,
s > 0.71), expected factorial structure, high convergent validity with the Big-Five Inventory (
s > 0.60), and correlations with self-esteem, affect, and aggressiveness similar to those found with standard measures of personality traits. Overall, our findings suggest that the Portuguese TIPI is a reliable and valid alternative to longer measures: it offers a promising tool for research contexts in which the available time for personality assessment is highly limited.
Štajersko-panonska skupina je značilna predstavnica vzhodnohalštatskega kulturnega kroga. Pod tem terminom razumemo kompleksen, večplasten kulturni fenomen, ki je obsegal prostrano območje od ...Štajerske (na slovenski in avstrijski strani), na zahodu do Koralp, na vzhodu je zajemal panonske nižave vzdolž rek Rabe, Mure, Drave. Nove raziskave, predstavljene na simpoziju, so prinesle novosti glede poselitvenih območij in njihovih značilnosti, ki se kažejo v tipih naselbin (višinske oz. nižinske), stavb (novost so zemljanke) ter v oblikah grobov in njihovih oznak (npr. gomile z mogočno grajeno grobno kamro in dromosom na eni strani ter na drugi strani grobovi, grobne parcele in gomile, obdane z jarki ipd.). Kljub skupnim kulturnim značilnostim, ki se izražajo predvsem v religiozni sferi, pa lahko v njenem okviru ugotavljamo tudi razlike med posameznimi regionalnimi skupnostmi.

Z upoštevanjem dodatnih temperaturnih in padavinskih kriterijev smo slovensko podnebje razčlenili na štiri osnovne tipe z devetimi podtipi: zmerno sredozemsko (obalno in zaledno), zmerno celinsko (severovzhodne, vzhodne in jugovzhodne ter osrednje Slovenije), gorsko (višjega in nižjega gorskega sveta) in podgorsko podnebje (zelo vlažno in vlažno).

This study investigates the relationship between personality and political careers. Drawing on a unique survey of municipal candidates from two Canadian provinces (N = 1193) and supplemented with ...survey data from citizens (N = 1665), we test for personality differences in candidate recruitment and electoral success. Results reveal significant personality differences between candidates and citizens, as well as between winning and losing candidates. Compared to other citizens, candidates are higher in extraversion, openness to experience, and emotional stability. As for the difference between electoral winners and losers, openness to experience is associated with a slightly higher likelihood of losing an election. These differences in personality traits emerge independent of other background characteristics such as age, education, and gender. Ultimately, the psychological dispositions that influence running for office and winning an election are not the same.
Objective: In the past decades, many different types of psychotherapy for adult depression have been developed. Method: In this meta-analysis we examined the effects of 15 different types of ...psychotherapy using 385 comparisons between a therapy and a control condition: Acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), guided self-help using a self-help book from David Burns, Beck's CBT, the "Coping with Depression" course, two subtypes of behavioral activation, extended and brief problem-solving therapy, self-examination therapy, brief psychodynamic therapy, non-directive counseling, full and brief interpersonal psychotherapy, and life review therapy. Results: The effect sizes ranged from g = 0.38 for the "Coping with Depression" course to g = 1.10 for life review therapy. There was significant publication bias for most therapies. In 70% of the trials there was at least some risk of bias. After adjusting studies with low risk of bias for publication bias, only two types of therapy remained significant (the "Coping with Depression" course, and self-examination therapy). Conclusions: We conclude that the 15 types of psychotherapy may be effective in the treatment of depression. However, the evidence is not conclusive because of high levels of heterogeneity, publication bias, and the risk of bias in the majority of studies.
The Ten-Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) was designed as a brief instrument of the Big Five personality traits. This study aimed to explore the internal consistency and structural validity of the ...Chinese version of TIPI (TIPI-C) in medical college students.
A cross-sectional study was conducted in 11 provinces of China. Spearman-Brown coefficient, standardized Cronbach's α coefficient, and Cronbach's α coefficient were applied to estimate the internal consistency. Spearman-Brown coefficient was applied to estimate split-half reliability. Principal components analysis (PCA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used to identify the structural validity.
A total of 2223 medical college students recruited from different regions of China were included. The Spearman-Brown coefficients of TIPI-C ranged from 0.129 to 0.786 and the Cronbach's α coefficients ranged from 0.119 to 0.785. The split-half reliability of the Spearman-Brown coefficient was 0.508. The latent structure of Extraversion, Emotional Stability, and Conscientiousness complied with the intended structure, and the internal consistency coefficients of these three traits were supported. However, the internal consistency coefficients of Agreeableness and Openness were low and the structural validity was not supported.
TIPI-C primarily stands out as a feasible instrument for brief measurements of the Extraversion, Emotional Stability, and Conscientiousness domains. Further research is required to evaluate the concurrent validity and the test-retest reliability of TIPI-C in different populations and potentially modify the instrument to be more suitable for the Chinese population.
Luminescence dating of rocks and sediments associated with various anthropogenic rock arrangements has the potential to provide age information for these hard-to-date features. This study applies ...infrared stimulated luminescence (IRSL) to sediments under rocks and to the rocks themselves from tipi rings and other features from the northern Plains. Dates are provided for 27 sediment and 5 rock samples from 7 archaeological sites in Montana, North Dakota, and Saskatchewan, ranging in age from 0.20 to 4.35 ka. Most of the ages are consistent with one another and with other dating evidence but some discrepancies show the complexity involved in this kind of dating.

This paper will be adopting a qualitative method, by which it aims to study and observe various examples so as to analyze interconnections of Siberian Chums and Native-American Tipi, their design driving forces, settlement of the 2nd century BC- Arkaim and Japanese traditional architecture.
Bu araştırmada beşinci, altıncı ve yedinci sınıf düzeyindeki beceri temelli matematik sorularını incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Amaç doğrultusunda araştırmanın deseni doküman incelemesi olarak ...belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri 370 beceri temelli matematik sorusundan ibarettir. Verilerin analizinde araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan değerlendirme diyagramı kullanılmıştır. Bu diyagram temelde soru tipi ve içerik olmak üzere iki kola ayrılmaktadır. Soru tipi kolu sözel ve görsel olarak iki boyuta ayrılmıştır. Görsel boyutu da işlev ve biçim alt boyutlarından oluşmaktadır. İçerik kolu ise ortam ve ilişkilendirme olarak iki boyuta ayrılmaktadır. Ortam boyutu, sorunun teknolojiyle ilişkisi ile ilgili iken ilişkilendirme boyutu soruların günlük hayat, matematiğin kendi içerisinde ve disiplinler arası ilişkisi ile ilgilidir. Analizlere göre, beceri temelli soruların önemli bir kısmının görsel problemlerden oluştuğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Görsel sorularda en fazla resim/şekillerden yararlanılmış olup bu görseller bilgilendirici nitelikte kullanılmıştır. Sorular genellikle günlük hayatla ilişkilendirilmiştir. Bunun yanında sorularda ekseriyetle teknolojik olmayan bağlamın hâkim olduğu ortaya konmuştur.
