The article presents the situation of members of the Slovene community in Croatia, focusing on selected aspects of their socioeconomic participation (inclusion) in Croatian society. This topic has ...not been thoroughly studied yet, firstly due to the low interest of researchers in the position and activities of members of the Slovene community in Croatia, and secondly due to a continuous lack of data on the socioeconomic participation of members of not only the Slovene community but of all minorities in Croatia in general. Based on the analysis of data mainly collected from Croatian official reports, the situation of members of the Slovene minority in Croatia is presented mainly in relation to the exercise of their rights to education and employment.

V članku se brezdomstvo v Franciji obravnava v okviru treh glavnih medsebojno povezanih sklopov dejavnikov, in sicer pritiskov na trgu dela, nezakonitega priseljevanja in institucionalne ...neučinkovitosti. Makroekonomski izzivi so povzročili izgubo delovnih mest in posledično slabe razmere na trgu dela, kar čutijo osebe brez ustreznih kvalifikacij. Zato težave na trgu dela skupaj s pomanjkanjem socialnega kapitala in primernih stanovanj po dostopni ceni ter ob nezadostni institucionalni podpori povečujejo brezdomstvo. Vse to potrjuje potrebo po dejavnejšem ukrepanju vlade na stanovanjskem trgu, da bi naredili prostor za razmeroma šibkejši del prebivalstva v pogosto neenakopravnem procesu rasti. Drugo pomembno vprašanje je, kako ustvariti nova delovna mesta s pozitivno rastjo plač, ker bi brez ustrezne kupne moči zagotavljanje stanovanj pomenilo le prenašanje revščine z enega mesta na drugo.

Several major transformations have characterized the world of work in recent years. Those transformations follow different patterns in different countries, yet their dynamics are so interrelated that ...it is often hard, if not impossible, to distinguish the causal relationships among them. Technological advances, globalization, old and new media, demographic changes, and new production and economic systems are all key factors acting on this ongoing transformation which is impacting both the world of work and society as a whole. In the spirit of Karl Polanyi, the well-known scholar who described the rise of market-based societies, we are led to wonder if we are witnessing a new "Great Transformation of Work", on such a scale that it might change the very meaning of work in our society, and even its anthropological connotations. Accordingly, this volume investigates and discusses the different aspects of this transformation from a comparative perspective. In order to propose better solutions to cope with these changes, it is necessary to analyze their ongoing dynamics. Lawmakers, unions, scholars and practitioners are all called to do their part in order to achieve the goals of sustainability and fairness of our economic systems.
Potrošniška družba, družba tveganja in družba z nanja so samo nekatere oznake, ki poskušajo opisati socialne, ekonomske, kulturne in politične spremembe, ki so se z godile v drugi polovici dvajsetega ...stoletja. Za čas globalizacije je na ravni edukacijskih politik z načilno, da tudi številčne in ekonomsko bolj razvite nacije nimajo pravih možnosti v globaliziranem svetu, če ne bodo vlagale v edukacijo, katere kakovost bi presojali skladno z mednarodnimi standardi. Od tod izhodišča za razpravo o pomembnosti permanentnega izobraževanja, kamor spada tudi razprava o izobraževanju odraslih.
V prvem delu članka nas zanima vprašanje opredeljevanja zakonitosti človekove narave in njenih zakonov delovanja s posebnim poudarkom na sposobnostih in zmogljivostih odraslih za učenje. Ker pa se sposobnosti za učenje ohranjajo in oblikujejo bolj v tistih družbah, ki znajo dovolj sistematično pristopati k problemu vseživljenjskega učenja, se po drugi strani pokaže, da o vsem tem odločajo tudi predstave, ki jih goji neka družba o odrasli in starejši generaciji. Zato v drugem delu članka opišemo tudi, katere družbeno-ekonomske razmere ter institucionalne strukture pogojujejo možnost uresničevanja permanentnega izobraževanja kot naloge prihodnje družbe.
Gospodarstva Evrope vedno glasneje opozarjajo na nevarno razhajanje v usposobljenosti in znanjih, ki ustrezajo potrebam delodajalcem, ter obstoječo ponudbo, kar znatno vpliva na (ne)-konkurenčnost ...nacionalnih gospodarstev. Znanje, usposobljenost in kompetence v družbi znanja namreč postajajo nujni pogoj konkurenčnosti (globalnih) trgov dela, kar je v kriznih časih še pomembnejši dejavnik za obstoj gospodarskih subjektov na trgu. Z drugimi besedami, za družbo znanja kot cilj integrirane Evrope je pri oblikovanju celostnih politik velikega pomena identificiranje sedanjih in prihodnjih potreb po usposobljenosti ter sodobnih znanjih. Šele celostno in sistematično spremljanje in identificiranje potreb namreč omogočata uravnoteženje ponudbe in povpraševanja na trgih dela, s tem pa tudi večjo konkurenčnost in visoko stopnjo socialne kohezije. Ustrezno usposobljena delovna sila vseh kvalifikacij in vseh generacij, vključena v vseživljenjsko izobraževanje, se namreč hitreje in uspešnejše prilagaja zahtevam sodobnega dinamičnega gospodarskega okolja in (poklicne, sektorske in geografske) mobilnosti.
