In einem Moment der Mediengeschichte, in dem der Film nicht mehr nur im Kino, sondern in allen Medien auftritt, nimmt der Band Jean-Luc Godard: Film denken nach der Geschichte des Kino das Werk des ...französischen Regisseurs zum Ausgangspunkt für eine vielstimmige Reflexion über die Geschichten und die Zukünfte des Kinos. Wohl mehr als jeder andere Regisseur hat Godard sich bemüht, die Geschichte des Kinos im Medium selbst zu schreiben, etwa in seinem monumentalen Filmessay Histoire(s) du cinéma. Und mehr als jeder andere Regisseur hat Godard immer wieder die Frage gestellt, was nach dem Kino kommt: Wie es mit der Geschichte der Kunst nach dieser "Erfindung ohne Zukunft", wie Louis Lumière es einmal formulierte, weitergeht. Zugleich schreibt Godard dem Kino im 20. und 21. Jahrhundert eine besondere Rolle der historischen Zeugenschaft zu, was seinem Werk eine Relevanz weit über den Horizont einer Geschichte der Kunstform Film hinaus verleiht.

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is associated with increased risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases. MetS prevalence has been associated with diet inadequacy. Conversely, the ...cumulative incidence of MetS has been inversely associated with a Mediterranean-style diet that includes many different health-beneficial nutrients. Adherence to a Mediterranean-style diet could reduce or at least stabilize metabolic risk factors.
Low serum level of fat-soluble micronutrients, such as carotenoids, vitamin (vit) A, D and E, has been linked to MetS. Fat-soluble micronutrients could contribute to prevent MetS thanks to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties (vit E, carotenoids) or to their central role as hormone regulators (vit D) and/or lipid metabolism and glucose homeostasis sensors (vit D and E).
This review summarizes recent epidemiological studies linking fat-soluble micronutrients to MetS and highlights new evidence on their mechanisms of actions.

Osteoporosis and sarcopenia are major public health problems, but whether these two diseases should be considered alone or combined into a single condition is not clear. No consensual definition of osteosarcopenia is largely accepted. Most observational studies demonstrate some relationship between muscle and bone health. Vitamin D status is generally lower in study participants with bone or muscle wasting. Studies on the effects of vitamin D supplementation on muscle or bone health have provided conflicting results, likely because of the heterogeneity between studies. However, the most positive results were observed in study participants with low vitamin D status and in studies that avoided massive boluses of vitamin D.
More observational and interventional studies are needed to confirm the exact role of vitamin D in the pathophysiology and treatment of osteosarcopenia.
Novels by Tanella Boni and Véronique Tadjo during Ivory Coast's civil war and its preparation are rife with allegorical elements contributing to the conflicted definition of the nation: its outside ...and its inside, its potential for solidarity and its exclusionary pathology, considered on the ground and from the diaspora. Each through female characters navigating identity on shifting grounds, Boni and Tadjo reframe what it means to be Ivorian and consequently what it means to be African from a woman's perspective. Far from producing reductive readings, a study of second-order allegories of all eight of the novels they produced between 1990 and 2010 reveals an emergent hope that through reframing the nation from a feminine standpoint and through feminine strategies of resistance, the potential for the nation to achieve solidarity will win out over internal division, and the structures are laid bare, which pose as the primary obstacles to that solidarity.
Abstract
This essay elucidates the ways in which Veronique Branquinho, a contemporary Belgian avant-garde fashion designer, appropriates the literary heritage of the Brontë sisters. A well-read, ...intellectual visual artist, she has presented collections marked with literary references. Her recent works tap into some key aspects of the Brontë oeuvre, re-envisioning them into highly original sartorial forms. The influence of the Brontës manifests itself in the ethos of Branquinho’s craftsmanship as well as in the individual artefacts that she has created. The designer’s Brontë-inspired dresses with their formal beauty and distinctive aesthetics could be viewed as an intermedial ode to the British writers, her enduring muses, attesting to the universal appeal of the sisters across disciplines.
A field study combined with a laboratory study and 3D modeling have been performed in order to decipher the genesis of the Salau deposit W-Au mineralization (Pyrenees, France), one of the most ...important for tungsten in Europe. Results show the existence of two superimposed ore types, emplaced ca. 10 km depth and within decreasing temperature conditions: a calcic silicates skarn with rare scheelite and disseminated sulphides followed by a mineralized breccia with massive sulphides (pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite dominant), coarse-grained scheelite and gold, representing the main part of the ore mined in the past. This breccia is localized in ductile-brittle shear-zones which crosscut the granodiorite. U/Pb dating on zircon, apatite and scheelite, previously realized, confirmed this polyphase evolution. These two types of mineralization, linked to the emplacement of two successive intrusions as confirmed by sulphur isotopic analysis, granodioritic then leucogranitic, can be classified as belonging to the Intrusion-Related Gold Deposit type (IRGD). The emplacement of the high-grade gold and scheelite breccia was initiated by the progressive localization of the regional deformation in the Axial Zone of the Pyrenees during the Permian within E-W dextral-reverse faults.
