This paper describes a simulation of a production workplace using virtual reality. The simulation was performed in Visual Components software with HTC Vive Pro hardware.
In this paper, we describe a method to automatically derive the controller for an automated process by an interactive learning approach using a simulation model developed in Visual Components 3D ...simulation software. The latter is used to record the events of the processes and the controller is generated as an IEC 61499 function block. To create different process scenarios, the actuator signals are triggered manually in appropriate order. The controller logic in Petri net is derived by process discovery algorithms with help of recorded events and conversion of Petri net to IEC 61499 function blocks is done by a software tool configured with a set of transformation rules.

This article analyses company’s X growth in reference to the shot blasting process in order to investigate if modernization is feasible. Tests of shot blasting work place safety were carried out and all information submitted in a professional risk identification card. Calculations were made to investigate if the robotisation is profitable. Virtual simulation of robotic line was created with Visual Components software.
Infecting more than two hundred and nineteen million people internationally as of September 2021, SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19) remains a major health crisis despite the availability of vaccines in many ...countries and publicized guidance on effective preventative measures (WHO, 2021). To combat the spread of the virus, governments worldwide have found themselves relying on their ability to exert control over health behaviors in public and private spaces. Visual communication, which includes both graphics and text, are an integral component of how these behavioral advisories are communicated to the public. Authorities translate scientific information into digestible designs for the public to achieve effective understanding and actionable protective measures. How are governments presenting and assessing the effectiveness of COVID-19-related information? Are there opportunities to maximize communication and develop models using existing frameworks?
This interdisciplinary literary review pairs three models of risk and crisis communication with an information design framework to analyze COVID-19 materials shared by international governing agencies. Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication (CERC) blends two popular disaster mitigation approaches to create a model that considers all stages of disaster response (Reynolds and Seeger, 2007). The Protective Action Decision Model (PADM; Lindell and Perry, 2012) and the Scenario Transition Model of Viewing and Reading (Jaenichen, 2017) highlight the importance of considering context when crafting communication to increase the likelihood of message comprehension under stressed circumstances. Design perspectives are incorporated through the semiological lens of Jacques Bertin’s research on effective visual compositions (Bertin, 1983). Graphics sampled from the websites of international governments are used to illustrate the importance of leveraging design and communication strategy when communicating about risk and crisis scenarios.
Within the European Factory-in-a-day project, the aim is to improve communication between automation integrator and factory owner, in their analysis of feasibility and appropriateness of automating a ...manual task. A visualisation tool with preconfigured workflows and working principles, with specific focus on efficient human-robot coproduction workflows can improve this process. This paper describes the Workflow Simulation Tool, which is part of the Human-Robot Coproduction Methodology, currently in development. The tool encompasses a portable tablet PC, which runs a visual modelling environment combined with a handheld 3D scanning solution. The tool also features pre-modelled template layouts, implementation of a checklist of persistent notes and portable visual documentation. The tool's appropriateness was iteratively validated in collaboration with automation integrators. This evaluation showed that offering an interactive visual simulation enriches the dialogue during conceptual design and helps in revealing requirements that otherwise only appear during or after implementation.
In this article, we define the term of visual merchandising and its components that are used in business practice. Great visual merchandising is an essential part of sales strategy and because for ...our survey we evaluate the restaurant segment and opportunities how to implement visual merchandising components in chosen restaurants. Visual merchandising engages all the senses. The more senses we engage, the more people respond to our operation, stay longer and buy more. It encompasses the way that the restaurants present their services to grab the customer's attention. In our research we focus on first impression, wallś texture, lighting, location of interior decorations, layout of tables and chairs, dishes offering from the menu, aroma perception, musical background, staff́ dress code, POS materials, intensity of temperature and noise. The main aim of this paper was to evaluate what kind of visual merchandising's components the restaurants use in their businesses and summarize all data by our own survey done in the chosen restaurants in 2015. In the recommendations we described the practical using of visual merchandising in restaurant sector as well as neuromarketing that we would like to use in real conditions in the future.

Robots have become an integral part of society, ranging from welding robots used in the manufacturing industry, to robots such as the Da Vinci Surgical System - a robot used for medical purposes. ...However, robots take a considerable amount of time to master and not every school has the resources or space to accommodate a robot for each student. One way to work around this issue is to employ software which allows for simulation of robots. Some examples of such software are RobotRun, ROBOGUIDE, and Visual Components. This paper: however, will focus on the third software which is Visual Components. This paper aims to familiarize students with the use of robots through a series of virtual labs, which will utilize the robot simulation software Virtual Components. The labs will teach students the use of the tool center point, which will be required to simulate a pick-and-place program. Students will also learn the difference between using a linear move and a joint move, use of outputs - such as a suction cup lifting a box - as well as the use of signals to create a more complex scenario, allowing for a more real-world application.
