Bu çalışmada, prototip sac metal kalıpçılığında kullanıma uygun ötektik ve ötektik civarı (ötektikaltı ve ötektiküstü) Bi-Sn alaşımlarının mekanik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Üretilen bu alaşımların ...mekanik özelliklerini belirlemek üzere alaşımlara sertlik, çekme ve basma testleri uygulanmıştır. Ötektiküstü alaşımlarda Bi artışı ile sertlik artarken, ötektikaltı alaşımlarda sertlik Bi artışı ile azalmıştır. Maksimum sertlik değeri %60 Bi içeren ötektikaltı alaşımda elde edilmiştir. Alaşımların çekme mukavemetleri ise genel itibariyle Bi artışıyla azalmıştır. En yüksek çekme mukavemeti değeri, %51 Bi oranındaki ötektiküstü alaşımda elde edilmiştir. Ötektiküstü alaşımların uzama oranları genel itibariyle ötektikaltı alaşımlardan daha yüksektir. Maksimum uzama oranı ise ötektik alaşımda elde edilmiştir. Diğer taraftan, alaşımların basma mukavemetleri Bi oranı ile azalmıştır. En yüksek basma mukavemeti değeri de, %51 Bi oranındaki ötektiküstü alaşımda elde edilmiştir.
Novel organometallic compounds have been prepared by complexing the fluoroquinolones, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, sparfloxacin, lomefloxacin, pefloxacin and gatifloxacin, with bismuth. The ...complexes were characterized by UV, IR, atomic absorption spectroscopy, elemental analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis and mass spectrometry. Their antibacterial potential against Helicobacter pylori and other microorganisms was investigated. These compounds were found to possess strong activity against Helicobacter pylori with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 0.5 mg L-1. They also exhibited moderate activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus pumilus and Staphylococcus epidermidis. These bismuth-fluoroquinolone complexes have the potential to be developed as drugs against H. pylori related ailments.
Komplesacijom fluorokinolona, norfloksacina, ofloksacina, ciprofloksacina, sparfloksacina, lomefloksacina, pefloksacina i gatifloksacina s bizmutom pripravljeni su novi organometalni spojevi. Dobiveni kompleksi karakterizirani su UV, IR i atomskom apsorpcijskom spektroskopijom, elementarnom analizom, diferencijalnom pretražnom kalorimetrijom, termogravimetrijskom analizom i spektrometrijom masa. Nadalje, ispitivan je njihov učinak na Helicobacter pylori i druge mikroorganizme. Ispitivani spojevi pokazuju snažno djelovanje na Helicobacter pylori u koncentraciji 0,5 mg L-1 te umjereno djelovanje na Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus pumilus i Staphylococcus epidermidis. Kompleksi fluorokinolona s bizmutom potencijalni su lijekovi za infekcije uzrokovane H. pylori.
W artykule szczegółowo scharakteryzowano pod względem mineralogicznym i geochemicznym występowanie telluru i bizmutu w złotonośnych siarczkowych rudach polimctalicznych z zarzu- conych złóż (Złoty ...Stok, Czarnów, Radzimowicc i Radomicc) oraz punktu mineralizacji (Bardo Śląskie) w Sudetach. Tellur jest zaliczany do pierwiastków krytycznych, a jego rola stale wzrasta. Na rynkach światowych popyt na tellur znacznie przewyższa jego podaż zc względu na coraz większe wykorzystanie np. w produkcji paneli słonecznych czy nośników informacji. Maksymalne kon- centracje telluru około 150 ppm stwierdzono w rudach arscnopirytowo-chalkopirytowych w Ra- dzimowicach, a najwyższe koncentracje bizmutu (ok. 0,5%) w rudach siarczkowych w Czarnowie. W pozostałych obszarach koncentracje Tc są na poziomic od kilku do kilkudziesięciu ppm, a w przy- padku Bi od kilkudziesięciu do kilkuset ppm. Zawartości tc znacznie przewyższają klarki tych metali w skorupie ziemskiej. Wśród zidentyfikowanych minerałów telluru w Radzimowicach i Czarnowie dominują tcllurki Ag (hessyt) oraz w Bardzie Śląskim tcllurki Bi (hcdlcyit i tcllurobismutyt). Tcllurki występują głównie w postaci mikro-wrostków w minerałach siarczkowych w paragcnczic z mi- nerałami Au, Ag i Bi. Minerały bizmutu rozpoznano we wszystkich zbadanych miejscach i re- prezentowane są głównie przez bizmut rodzimy i wtórny minerał bizmutu -bismutynit. Tellur i bizmut wykazują przeważnie silną korelacje (cc>0,6) z Au, Ag i Pb. Krystalizacja głównych minerałów Bi i Tc nastąpiła w zakresie temperatur średnich (300 to 200°C) w dwóch etapach. Pierwszy związany głównie z krystalizacją tcllurków Bi w strefach kontaktowo-mctasomatycznych wokół waryscyjskich intmzji granitoidowych (Czarnów i Bardo Śląskie) i drugi - związany z krystalizacją tcllurków Ag w procesach cpitcrmalnych wokół intruzji porfirowych (Radzimowicc). Bi i Tc odgrywały donośną rolę w procesie wytrącania złota z roztworów hydrotcrmalnych. Pierwiastki tc mają znaczenie mctalogcnicznc i wskaźnikowe przy poszukiwaniach złota.
This paper provides a detailed description of the geochemical and mineralogical characteristics of the occurrence of tellurium and bismuth in gold-bearing, polymetallic sulfide deposits and their prospects in the Sudetes Mountains (specifically in Z³otym Stok, Czarnów, Radzimowice,Radomicc, and Bardo Śląskie). Tellurium is classified as a critical element, and its role in modern industry is gradually increasing due to high demand for use in solar batteries and memory discs. Within the study area, the highest Te concentration (approx. 150 ppm) was determined in auriferous arsenic-chalcopyrite ores in Radzimowice, and the highest bismuth concentration (0.5%) in sulfide ores in the Czarnów deposit. In other studied areas, Te content ranges from a few up to dozens of ppm, and Bi from dozens up to hundreds of ppm. These concentrations are much higher than their Clarks in the earth’s crust. Among Teminerals in the Radzimowice and Czarnów deposit, Ag-tellurides (hessite) dominated, while Bi-tellurides (hedleyite and tellurobismuthite) prevailed in Bardo Śląskie. Tellurides occur mainly as micro-inserts in sulfides in paragenetic association with Au, Ag, and Bi minerals. Bi minerals were recognized in all of the studied deposits, represented mainly by native bismuth and a secondary Bi-mineral - bismuthinite. Tellurium and bismuth usually have a strong positive correlation (cc > 0.6) with Au, Ag, and Pb. Crystallization of tellurides occurred in at least two separate events of ore crystallization at temperatures ranging from 200 to 300°C. The first event dominated by Bi-tellurides was connected with metasomatic processes in the contact zones of Variscan granites (Czarnów and Bardo Śląskie), and the second event with Ag-tellurides was connected with epithermal low sulfidation processes related to Variscan porphyries (Radzimowice). Bi and Te played a significant role as scavengers of gold from hydrothermal fluids. These elements also have important metallogenic and prospecting significance.
Thin films of Bismuth oxyiodide (BiOI) were deposited, using chemical bath deposition techniques. The films were characterized using energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) and Fourier transform ...infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy for chemical composition, and a spectrophotometer for the analysis of spectral absorbance / transmittance / reflectance.
Deposited film thickness ranged between 0.115 and 0.140 $\mu m$. The optical properties deduced from the spectral absorbance / transmittance / reflectance include the maximum values of the refractive index n that ranged between 2.62 and 2.64, the extinction coefficient k ranged between 25.84 x $10^{-3}$ and 42.92 x $10^{-3}$ while the Optical conductivity a ranged between 0.60 x $10^{14} S^{-1}$ and 0.75 x $10^{14} S^{-1}$.
The spectral analysis revealed that some of the films grown are poor transmitters of UV but have good transmission in the VIS-NIR regions. Some of the films show transmittance above 78% in the VIS-NIR regions and a wide band gap that ranged between 3.20 and 3.40 eV. In the mid infrared regions transmittance ranged between 3 and 37%. These properties make the film potential material for poultry protection and warming coatings, solar control and antireflection coatings and as well material for solar cell fabrication.
A 16-years-old girl admitted to our emergency unit with complaints of nausea and vomiting. From her history, we learned that she had ingested 35 tablets (10.5 g) of colloidal bismuth subcitrate (CBS) ...(De-Nol) in a suicidal attempt 7 days ago. On admission, her physical examination findings were unremarkable. Her laboratory findings were blood urea nitrogen (BUN) 76.0 mg/dl, serum creatinine (Cr) was 19.2 mg/dl and serum bismuth level was 395 µg/L. Intravenous fluid and electrolytes, hemodialysis (HD) and penicillamine as a chelator agent was initiated. Then, continuous veno-venous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF) was performed during 72 hours. On the 3rd day the CVVHDF treatment BUN and Cr values decreased to 14 mg/dl and 0.78 mg/dl, respectively. This case report showed that CVVHDF can be an alternative therapy for acute kidney injury due to CBS intoxication when complications observed in HD. On altı yaşında kız hasta bulantı ve kusma yakınmaları ile acil servisimize başvurdu. Öyküsünden, 7 gün önce intihar amaçlı 35 adet De-Nol tablet (10,5 gr kolloidal bizmut subsitrat) aldığı öğrenildi. Başvuru anındaki fizik muayene bulguları normal olarak değerlendirildi. Laboratuar tetkiklerinde; BUN 76 mg/dl, kreatinin 19.2 mg/dl ve serum bizmut düzeyi 395 µg/lt idi. Hastaya sıvı ve elektrolit tedavisi, hemodiyaliz tedavisi ve şelatör ajan olarak penisilamin tedavileri başlandı. Daha sonra, 72 saat süreyle sürekli venö-venöz hemodiyafiltrasyon tedavisi uygulandı. Üç günlük hemodiyafiltrasyon tedavisi sonunda BUN: 14 mg/dl ve serum kreatinin düzeyi 0.78 mg/dl'ye geriledi. Penisilamin tedavisinin 14. gününde serum bizmut düzeyi 32 µg/L'ye düştü. Bu vaka; kolloidal bizmut subsitrat intoksikasyonu sonucu gelişen akut böbrek hasarının tedavisinde hemodiyaliz yan etkileri gözlendiğinde hemodiyafiltrasyonun alternatif bir tedavi yöntemi olabileceğini göstermiştir. Helicobacter pylori is the most common infectious disease all over the world. Ten to twenty percent of the patients remain infected despite treatment with proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), amoxicillin ...and clarithromycin. We compared PPI, bismuth, tetracycline and metronidazole with ranitidine bismuth citrate, tetracycline and metronidazole in cases resistant to PPIs-based triple therapies.
The study included 52 patients who underwent a triple therapy with PPI, clarithromycin and amoxicillin for 14 days between September 2001 and December 2002, and were found to be resistant to the therapy. They were randomized to take ranitidine bismuth citrate (Rb) 400 mg twice a day, tetracycline (T) 1 g twice a day and metronidazole (M) 500 mg three times a day for 14 days (RbTM), or ranitidine bismuth citrate (Rb) 400 mg twice a day for 14 days and azithromycin (A) 500 mg once a day for 7 days (RbA). Four weeks after the treatment, endoscopies were repeated, and patients were assessed with respect to changes in symptoms. When H. pylori was negative on histological analysis and urease test, eradication was achieved.
A total of 52 patients, 32 females and 20 males with a mean age of 49+/-12 years, were included in the study. Eradication was achieved in 15 (28%) out of 52 patients in total. There was a significant difference between RbA and RbTM groups (p=0.01). In fact, H. pylori was eradicated in 3 (12%) out of 25 patients in the RbA group, whereas it was eradicated in 12 (44.4%) out of 27 patients in the RbTM group. Symptom scores significantly improved in both groups after the treatment, though there was not a significant difference between the groups (p=0.705).
Triple therapy including azithromycin does not seem to be a good choice in cases resistant to the first line therapies; however, a similarly lower rate of eradication was achieved with the quadruple therapy proposed. Therefore, different treatment schemes should be applied in resistant patients, and further studies are needed as well.
