Findings
Business has borne witness to an evolution in how it brings products and services to market since the 1980s – and hardly anyone has noticed. This is not an obvious change such as the exploitation of the internet or the effects of globalization. It is a more subtle, more varied, and has had an impact on how most businesses now operate in the modern environment. Put simply, it is the way the firms now create value through product and service development using project management techniques.

Different business environments may have differential impacts. The improvement in the institutional environment and increased certainty about the future greatly impact entrepreneurial activity and ...business results. The reform of inspection and regulatory enforcement activities aims at improving the business environment, i.e., property, lawful rights, and interests against a variety of risks. Although the reform has been ongoing for several years in Russia, no systematic, independent evaluation of its efficiency and impact on the business efficiency at the meso-level of the Russian economic system has yet been implemented. The research aimed to investigate administrative barriers to business in (1) subdivisions of the Russian Federation on the example of monitoring and supervision activities of state bodies, and (2) the provision of public services. Besides, we measured the impact of administrative regulation on the effectiveness of entrepreneurial activity in the region. Findings from this research are useful in managerial practice, and for academic researchers and policymakers in emerging economies to adopt and consider to improve further the contribution of the administrative regulation institutions in regional economic development.
The construction of an appropriate performance measurement system is an important objective that every company is facing today. Firms using sustained performance measurement systems in management ...achieve higher efficiency. The performance measurement system is one of the determinants which creates an enterprise’s value. Small enterprises do not understand the need for performance measurement formalization or the potential benefits that come from management information systems. They conduct their business results in an informal way, without the systemic approach. Moreover, their decision support systems rely on information and knowledge generated by informal transformations and processes. As companies grow, they lean their decision support systems more on information from the performance measurement systems.
Purpose of the article is to present the scope and forms of informal performance measurement used in small enterprises. Method used was a nationwide survey conducted by the CATI method, which was covered by 100 small Polish companies. Analysis was accomplished by the chosen statistical tests and measures. The study provides an original contribution of the author. As a result of the research, it has been found, that most small businesses measured their performance, especially in non-financial perspectives. However, this measurement was informal and often not supported by the use of appropriate measures.

The theoretical foundations of organizational and managerial innovation in increasing efficiency of manufacturing, practical business aspects of organizational and managerial innovation in enhancing ...business efficiency are studied. These issues were considered both by Ukrainian and foreign scientists. However, today, despite the multitude of works highlighting these issues, there are no comprehensive studies dealing with the generalization and systematization of existing supply chain models. Organizational and managerial innovations in increasing efficiency of logistics are considered using the example of a supply chain. It is proved that organizational and managerial innovations are continuous in time, starting from the initial one, which, after a situational analysis, goes through planning, programming, particular actions aimed at its implementation and making decisions for the future. Given the existing risks and the complexity of innovative solutions, specific approaches are proposed to increase efficiency of logistics using the example of a supply chain. Improving a supply chain with particular tools allows introducing market changes in the organization of the supply chain. Application of innovation in logistics requires quick decisions to address the issues of production, management and environmental impacts on logistics processes. It is found that a supply chain with the necessary attributes provides many benefits to companies that use its tools through outsourcing agreements. Considering the practice of European companies, it is proven that the introduction of logistics tools increases the company’s profitability after six months of their constant use and its participation in logistics outsourcing projects, contributes to the growth of the company’s market share, speeds up its penetration into new markets by expanding the geography of the functioning of logistics operators and banks – supply chain business partners.
