Under modern conditions of turbulent external environment, one of the reserves for increasing the efficiency of an enterprise’s economic activity is its involvement in joint activities with other ...enterprises, which together form a large-scale economic and production system. The author’s hypothesis in this case is to consider efficiency as a function of the ability of participants in a large-scale system to establish appropriate communications. Accordingly, the shortcomings of communication of participants in a large-scale system are determined by the main factor of stability loss of the economic-production system. The aim of the article is to develop the theoretical and methodological bases for ensuring an increase in viability of large-scale economic-production systems through optimizing the links between its participants by the criterion of compliance with structural and communication stability. In the framework of achieving the aim of the article, the relevance of introducing the concept “structural and communication stability” of an enterprise is proved, and its essence is substantiated. To identify the factors of stability loss, there used recommendations from the body of knowledge on system engineering regarding the construction of a hierarchy (holarchy) of a complex system, for each level of which the factor of stability loss is determined. A reference model for establishing communication between participants of a large-scale system is developed, and the possibility of detailing such a model by means of multi-agent modeling is provided for detailing the parameters of interaction between participants of a large-scale economic production system. The application of this model is the basis for ensuring the stability of the economic system by forcing internal and external stakeholders to fulfill their functions.

Continuous stakeholder demands for more detailed and transparent reporting have led to the development of a new reporting framework. That is the so-called International Integrated Reporting Framework ...according to which companies report on financial and non-fmancial aspects of business operations. More importantly, they show the way in which value is created through the established business model in the short, medium, and long term. Since it is still considered a new tool for socially responsible reporting, the question arises of its recognizability and level of its implementation and impact on business operations. Therefore, this paper analytically deals with the overall concept of integrated reporting and its connection with the principle of efficiency as the basis of the value-making process. Therefore, the main objective of the paper was to investigate the current application of the concept of integrated reporting in companies of the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia, in the period from 2011 to 2016, and to determine whether a greater degree of business efficiency influences the implementation of integrated reporting methods and socially responsible business operations. The method of online research, descriptive statistics, and non-parametric method of hypothesis testing were used. Although the results showed a low level of application of the International Integrated Reporting Framework, the empirical part shows that a higher level of business efficiency encourages companies to conduct more socially responsible business operations through the presentation of economic, environmental, and social aspects of business operations.
Businesses have to deal with many potential risks in the supply chain, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The retail market in Vietnam has great potential for long-term development with the ...birth and rapid development of domestic supermarkets. However, market opening policies have resulted in fierce competition from a large number of foreign supermarkets. At the same time, customers have become more professional in their approach to shopping and carefully consider any decisions about shopping and the use of services at supermarkets. In this study, the authors use three models (i.e., the SERVQUAL model, the binary logistic model, and the Grey model) corresponding to a three-dimensional frame of reference (i.e., past, present, and future) to provide supermarket managers with a multi-dimensional view of the supermarket business situation. The results identify four factors-namely, quality of goods, personnel, safety, and facilities and equipment-that significantly impact customer satisfaction. The second frame of reference shows that factors such as age, academic level, and income affect the decision to reuse any service at the supermarket. The third frame of reference provides supermarket managers with forecast data about the supermarket business situation for 2021 to 2024. These results provide a solid foundation for supermarket managers seeking to develop strategies and take measures to adjust business activities to achieve the best business efficiency and avoid potential risks in the company's supply chain. In addition, the results of this study are valuable references for researchers in the fields of customer service, supply chain management, and customer behavior. In particular, the factors obtained in this study will greatly strengthen the scientific value of the service sector and the model of retail supermarkets in Vietnam and other countries around the world. In fact, the business strategy of supermarkets still depends on the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, in the future, it is necessary to combine the results of this study with the experience of managers to develop the right business strategies and achieve further results and sustainable development.
In recent years, the economic growth and, consequently, the competitiveness of the economy have become small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs. By creating new entrepreneurial shops or ...small businesses, a certain number of unemployed can be absorbed and an increase in the employment rate. At the same time, newly founded organizations create added value, increase demand for products of other companies, which contribute to the growth of gross domestic product and the improvement of national competitiveness. Their role is particularly significant in transition countries facing high unemployment, low level of economic activity, insufficient competitiveness and lack of investment, and where large inefficient state-owned enterprises are still present. Also, these business entities usually introduce a large number of innovations and contribute to increasing the dynamism of the economy and improving national competitiveness. Given that entrepreneurs employ a large number of workers, they have a significant share in the gross domestic product and lead to the improvement of national competitiveness, the problems of this work are also devoted to the situation and perspectives of the development of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship in our country in order to encourage the development of the same.
The issue of measuring and evaluating the enterprise performance and efficiency remains an open question, as identification and management of the financial health still represent a prerequisite for ...improving strategic management decision-making processes. In this regard, the aim of paper was to evaluate the performance and efficiency of the Slovak medical spa sector for the period 2012- 2017, to examine the possible interconnection of these two dimensions of entrepreneurial activity as well as to emphasize the importance of financial situation assessment in order to develop management control system of enterprises. The results of spa sector performance measured by the Economic Value Added and efficiency quantified on the basis of linear programming using the Simplex Method revealed significant shortcomings, since both dimensions were evaluated as average and inadequately profitable for shareholders. Detailed monitoring of the development and identifying the current state of performance and efficiency of the analysed spa companies is a fundamental starting point for financial managers within the implementation of new tools, techniques and systems for their continuous improvement. Thus, performance efficiency management is essential to achieve sustainable success, goals, plans, strategies and competitive position of enterprises.
In the past few decades, egg producers have faced numerous difficulties, including reduced egg consumption due to consumer concerns about egg cholesterol content, egg production's adverse ...environmental effects, a ban of conventional cages for rearing layers etc. Therefore, egg producers in Serbia need to constantly monitor their business efficiency indicators and strive to manage costs. In this study, four farm models were formulated to analyze their production costs and to establish and compare the values of economic efficiency indicators, before and after the transition to an enriched cage system, as well as with and without the possibility to produce and process part of feed components for complete mixtures for layers. According to obtained results, transition to an enriched cage system on the observed farms would cause an increase in total production costs between 5.1 and 5.3% and the purchase of complete mixtures on the market, between 2.3 and 5.8%. Also, anticipated organizational changes would have a negative effect on most economic efficiency indicators, reducing them by 5.2-49.5%, but would also lead to productivity improvement for the farm with the semi-automated production process.
