In an ever-evolving digital environment, mastering digital technology has emerged as a pivotal challenge for new ventures seeking growth and progress. By integrating organizational learning theory, ...organizational search literature, and digital entrepreneurship literature, this study investigates how new ventures configure their digital technology learning (DTL) strategies and digital technology search (DTS) strategies to promote their performance. A sample of 231 new ventures in China is analyzed to ascertain how the configuration of DTL and DTS strategies contributes to performance, particularly under the influence of digital environment support. The findings reveal that exploratory DTL based on DTS breadth is positively associated with new venture performance, and this relationship is strengthened by digital environment support. While exploratory DTL based on DTS depth exhibits a negative association with new venture performance, this negative relationship is mitigated by digital environment support. Furthermore, exploitative DTL based on DTS depth demonstrates a positive relationship with new venture performance, but this positive relationship remains unaffected by digital environment support. Unexpectedly, exploitative DTL based on DTS breadth exhibits a positive association with new venture performance, and this relationship is strengthened by digital environment support. In summary, this study offers a more nuanced comprehension of the technology strategy configurations of new ventures and advances the research on the relationship between digital technology and firm performance from a learning perspective.
With the continuous development of digitalization in society, the gap of digital talents has also increased significantly. In recent years, China has achieved significant results in the cultivation ...of digital talent teams. However,at present, the overall number and quality of digital talents delivered by colleges and universities still have some gaps compared with the high standards of enterprises. There are problems in the talent training mode, such as lagging training system, insufficient innovation in teaching and assessment methods, and the need to strengthen teaching practice. Combining the practical needs of digital business environment for talents, this paper puts forward relevant suggestions for applied universities on how to cultivate digital talents under the big background of digitalization from the perspectives of concept updating, framework construction, diversified governance and so on, in order to accelerate the pace of reform and adjustment and meet the urgent needs of society and enterprises for digital talents in the development trend of the times.
The paper considers modern technologies of personnel management necessary for the digital economy. Nowadays, in the process of transforming HR approaches due to the pandemic and economic situations, ...most companies in general and HR management in particular are faced with an acute question: what to do with the HR strategy. The study is aimed at identifying relevant areas of digitalization of the HR management process in a business organization. The paper authors identify basic reasons hindering the transition of personnel management to digital technologies, as well as opportunities for their further solution. The authors believe that the digitalization process is irreversible in modern conditions and enterprises should pay attention to this significant aspect. Most business leaders are not ready for the introduction of digital technologies and believe that they may negatively affect the employment level. On the contrary, another part of managers is introducing digital technologies, trying to improve the skills of employees in order to meet labor market standards. The authors conclude that a large role in the efficient formation of personnel management is the presence of personnel, formed from specialists with a psychological education and with the ability to solve mathematical tasks. The authors believe that the demand for such specialists will increase every year. Besides, high-quality personnel management is becoming a strategic center for the enterprise development, which the corporate brand formation depends on. Most enterprises prefer to do business online; it becomes a trigger for the formation of new approaches in the field of the company personnel management, which has always been a complicated and multifaceted phenomenon.
The article presents some reflections on the changes caused by the use of digital technologies in modern Abaza society. An analysis of cultural changes due to the rapid spread of modern communication ...technologies in the globalized context of modern Abaza society is carried out. The digital revolution provides us with new opportunities for innovation, creativity and development, and increased access to knowledge and information provides previously unknown opportunities for people and communities, opening up new horizons for us. In this regard, the article discusses the benefits of using information technology in the era of mass digitalization of society. Rapid changes in cultural demographics, technology, education and the impact of globalization and multiculturalism call for a reassessment of the processes that tend to isolate modern life from its heritage, i.e. cultural distancing. The essence of the argument is that the preservation of the intangible heritage, namely the language, is associated with the center of the formation of identity and the ethnos as a whole.
The simultaneous maturation of multiple digital and telecommunications technologies in 2020 has created an unprecedented opportunity for ophthalmology to adapt to new models of care using tele-health ...supported by digital innovations. These digital innovations include artificial intelligence (AI), 5th generation (5G) telecommunication networks and the Internet of Things (IoT), creating an inter-dependent ecosystem offering opportunities to develop new models of eye care addressing the challenges of COVID-19 and beyond. Ophthalmology has thrived in some of these areas partly due to its many image-based investigations. Tele-health and AI provide synchronous solutions to challenges facing ophthalmologists and healthcare providers worldwide. This article reviews how countries across the world have utilised these digital innovations to tackle diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, refractive error correction, cataract and other anterior segment disorders. The review summarises the digital strategies that countries are developing and discusses technologies that may increasingly enter the clinical workflow and processes of ophthalmologists. Furthermore as countries around the world have initiated a series of escalating containment and mitigation measures during the COVID-19 pandemic, the delivery of eye care services globally has been significantly impacted. As ophthalmic services adapt and form a “new normal”, the rapid adoption of some of telehealth and digital innovation during the pandemic is also discussed. Finally, challenges for validation and clinical implementation are considered, as well as recommendations on future directions.
For better or worse, digital technologies are reshaping everything, from customer behaviors and expectations to organizational and manufacturing systems, business models, markets, and ultimately ...society. To understand this overarching transformation, this paper extends the previous literature which has focused mostly on the organizational level by developing a multi‐level research agenda for digital transformation (DT). In this regard, we propose an extended definition of DT as “a socioeconomic change across individuals, organizations, ecosystems, and societies that are shaped by the adoption and utilization of digital technologies.” We suggest four lenses to interpret the DT phenomenon: individuals (utilizing and adopting digital technologies), organizations (strategizing and coordinating both internal and external transformation), ecosystems (harnessing digital technologies in governance and co‐producing value propositions), and geopolitical frameworks (regulating the environments in which individuals and organizations are embedded). Based on these lenses, we build a multi‐level research agenda at the intersection between the bright and dark sides of DT and introduce the PIAI framework, which captures a process of perception, interpretation, and action that ultimately leads to possible impact. The PIAI framework identifies a critical research agenda consisting of a non‐exhaustive list of topics that can assist researchers to deepen their understanding of the DT phenomenon and provide guidance to managers and policymakers when making strategic decisions that seek to shape and guide the DT.
The operational environment of complex sociotechnical systems is inherently uncertain, demanding constant coordination restructuring to adapt to dynamic situational demands. However, coordination ...changes in the Human Factors and Ergonomics Field have primarily been studied using static methods, overlooking moment-by-moment adjustments. In the current study, we address coordination restructuring by using THEME, a digital analytical tool capable of visualising and exploring coordination restructuring from a multi-layered perspective. We examine restructuring in coordination patterns during NASA's Apollo 13 Mission, revealing significant shifts from stable, long-duration ‘coordination hubs' in routine operations to shorter-duration patterns during a crisis situation. Additionally, the results highlight the importance of flexible switching between reciprocal and one-directed coordination, along with enhanced role distribution. This study underscores how exploring temporality-sensitive phenomena like coordination through digital technologies such as THEME, advances our understanding of incident analysis and resilient performance within complex systems.
