Education for ...Environmental Sustainable Development (EESD) approach could be implemented in science education to give students valuable insights into the environment. The form of teaching materials for EESD is the student worksheet. The objective of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of learning using EESD-based student worksheets to improve environmental literacy. This study belonged to the quasi-experiment, and the sample was taken using a cluster sampling technique class. The findings of this research showed that the mean score of the experimental class was greater than the control class, and there was a remarkable difference in environmental literacy between the experimental and control class. Therefore, we could conclude that EESD-based student worksheets are useful to improve students’ environmental literacy.
Digital literacy and environmental literacy are required skills at all educational levels and represent a crucial element for success in 21st century skills, especially mathematical reasoning ...ability. However, it is not a practical choice for educational contexts to lack simple assessment tools. The purpose of this project is to investigate the possibilities of assessing environmental literacy, digital literacy, and mathematical thinking skill, and to contribute to educational practices. Additionally, the relationship between environmental literacy, digital literacy, and mathematical thinking skill is explored. The sample of this study were all grade 7th – 9th secondary school students (N = 216). A questionnaire measuring environmental literacy and digital literacy as well as a test of mathematical thinking skills were used to collect data. Data were analyzed using JASP software, SPSS 26, Winstep, and Mplus8. Our evaluation proved to be a reliable and valid assessment. Digital literacy and environmental literacy can predict mathematical thinking skill. Concerning this topic in the twenty-first century, the meaning of this study is hugely important for educators and education researchers.
La alfabetización digital y la alfabetización ambiental son habilidades requeridas en todos los niveles educativos y representan un elemento crucial para el éxito en las habilidades del siglo XXI, especialmente la capacidad de razonamiento matemático. Sin embargo, no es una opción práctica para los contextos educativos carecer de herramientas de evaluación simples. El propósito de este proyecto es investigar las posibilidades de evaluar la alfabetización ambiental, la alfabetización digital y la habilidad de pensamiento matemático, y contribuir a las prácticas educativas. Además, se explora la relación entre la alfabetización ambiental, la alfabetización digital y la habilidad de pensamiento matemático. La muestra de este estudio fueron todos los estudiantes de secundaria de 7º a 9º grado (N = 216). Se utilizó un cuestionario que mide la alfabetización ambiental y la alfabetización digital, así como una prueba de habilidades de pensamiento matemático para recopilar datos. Los datos se analizaron utilizando el software JASP, SPSS 26, Winstep y Mplus8. Nuestra evaluación resultó ser una evaluación confiable y válida. La alfabetización digital y la alfabetización ambiental pueden predecir la habilidad de pensamiento matemático. En cuanto a este tema en el siglo XXI, el significado de este estudio es de gran importancia para los educadores e investigadores en educación.
Digital environmental information presented with low web accessibility reduces participation in environmental advocacy and information seeking behaviors for many people with disabilities, creating a ...consequential digital divide. We use WEB AIM computer automated analysis of web accessibility to assess the general accessibility of online environmental communication messages. Results show 95.3% of the popular websites in our sample had indicators of potentially critical accessibility errors. Our findings highlight the importance of addressing digital environmental information accessibility shortcomings so that educational, informational and persuasive environmental messages can increase environmental literacy of vulnerable populations and help to bridge the digital divide.

Household demand for green financial products is rarely investigated in the literature, except for ESG investments. This paper investigates the demand for a broader spectrum of finance (capital and ...banking markets together). The approach comes from data science in order to manage survey data's high dimensionality. Four consumer groups are formed regarding green demand based on clustering. A positive relationship between green and financial knowledge and financial and personal green attitude is observable. Individuals with a more robust attitude toward sustainability in their daily life consumer decisions also have a stronger attitude toward green finance. However, a positive attitude is not enough to choose a 'green' product. The research empirically supports that subsidy policy and promoting financial and ecoliteracy together would strengthen the demand for green financial products.

Descriptive statistics, correlations, and exploratory factor analysis were used to evaluate data.
Overall, though participants exhibited a lack of environmental knowledge (average score five of ten), they possessed pro-health and pro-environment attitudes and were likely to engage in corresponding behaviors (e.g. recycling, waste reduction, etc.). Principal axis factor analysis identified five underlying factors: liberal/progressive views, individual eco-friendly practices, personal health, healthy lifestyle, and waste reduction.
Correlational analyses indicated students who value health and engage in healthier behaviors also value the environment. While most agreed environmental sustainability is important, recycling behaviors and sustainability knowledge were mediocre. Understanding underlying factors such as environmental attitudes and sustainability-related behaviors can drive intervention strategies to move students to action.
This study aims to reveal Chinese consumers' willingness to pay for Green manure-rice and its determinants by conducting an information intervention experiment. Results first showed that consumers' ...willingness to pay before and after the information intervention was 7.9 CNY/kg and 12.1CNY/kg, which was 2.6 CNY/kg and 6.8 CNY/kg premium than that of conventional rice, respectively. This finding highlights the necessity of eliminating information asymmetry in the pro-environmental food market through external information supply. Afterwards, the decision mechanism by which consumers pay for Green manure-rice was explored. The main conclusions are as follows. First, both subjective self-evaluation and environmental literacy had a positive and significant impact on consumer premium. This finding provides policymakers with the enlightenment that it is feasible to raise consumer premium by actively guiding their subjective self-evaluation and fostering their environmental literacy. Second, the moderating effect of information intervention on consumer awareness of Green manure-rice attributes was identified. This result not only emphasizes the positive role of food attribute labeling in guiding consumers’ payment, but also further verifies the effectiveness of information strategy in promoting the development of Green manure-rice market. Third, information intervention narrowed the gap of payments between different consumer groups, which provides instrumental support for stabilizing the Green manure-rice market. These results are of great importance for both guiding the update of pro-environmental food market and promoting paddy agricultural system innovation in China.

Amidst the environmental crisis, governments and communities increasingly expect businesses to follow a "green agenda" when undertaking innovation. This paper proposes that innovating firms, when ...following a green strategy, have the potential to generate a wider social impact, besides the usual positive business outcomes. The main arguments are developed under the multiple helices concept (derived from the original triple helix model of innovation), which proposes a collaborative approach between key institutions. The framework allows investigation of: (1) how various innovation-actors assist firms in undertaking green innovation and (2) to what extent does green innovation (via multiple helices) create a social impact? This paper will be valuable as the conceptualisation of social impact assists governments in supporting those business-initiated green innovation projects which maximise public good.
Among the many responsibilities of K-12 educators is to promote the development of environmental literacy among their students. Contentious environmental issues are often considered socioscientific ...issues (SSI; e.g., climate change) in that they are rooted in science, but a myriad of non-scientific (e.g., cultural, political, economic, etc.) factors must be addressed if those issues are to be successfully resolved. Teachers often report being ill-equipped to address these non-scientific factors, which may be due to struggles with employing socioscientific reasoning (SSR). SSR includes understanding the complexity of SSI, engaging in perspective-taking and ongoing inquiry about SSI, employing skepticism when dealing with potentially biased information concerning SSI, and recognizing the affordances of science and non-science considerations in resolving those issues. In this study, mathematics and science teachers who engaged in an SSI-oriented professional development demonstrated a range of sophistication across the dimensions of SSR, with science teachers tending to exhibit more sophistication in their SSR than mathematics teachers. Herein, we share and discuss the results of the study, including the prompts and scoring rubrics with exemplars, which can be used to prepare teachers to teach about contentious SSI and enable them to more effectively instruct and evaluate their students when doing so.
