In this paper, we introduce some classes of non-commutative residuated lattices, give theirs characterization by filters and study the relations among them. This work generalizes some results ...relative to BL-algebras (Turunen and Sessa, Mult Valued Logic 6:1–21,
2001
; Motamed and Borumand, Neural Comp Appl 20:461–475,
2011
), MTL-algebra (Haveshki, Fuzzy Sets Syst, 247:135–137,

), pseudo-BL-algebras (Georgescu and Leustean, J Aust Math Soc, 73:127–153,
2002
) or residuated lattices (Buşneag and Piciu, Soft Comput, 16:1639–1655,
2012
; Kadji et al. Int J Math Math Sci, 28940:12

). At the end of this paper, we draw diagrams summarizing the relationships between different types of filters and classes of pseudo-residuated lattices.
In this paper, we introduce the notions of obstinate filters, weak implicative filters and fantastic filters on a non commutative residuated lattice and study their properties. Some characterizations ...of these filters are obtained. The relations among these filters and (sub) positive implicative filters are investigated. It is proved that each obstinate filters are sub positive implicative filters but the converse may not be true. Then the conditions under which a sub positive implicative filter is an obstinate filter are obtained. Also, we prove that each sub positive implicative filters are (fantastic) weak implicative filters and the converse may not be true. We establish the condition under which a (fantastic) weak implicative filter is a sub positive implicative filter.

This essay answers the question of the meaning of life. It does so from the perspective of pastoral theology by turning to a children’s story: William Joyce’s award-winning
The Fantastic Flying Books ...of Mr. Morris Lessmore
. After the introduction, this essay has two basic parts. The first part describes the context of
The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore
, summarizes its narrative, and explores its reception. The second part articulates three ways in which
The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore
is suggestive for pastoral theology with regard to questions of meaning—existentially, psychologically, and morally. In doing so, the essay builds on Donald Capps’s insights in
The Poet

, assumes the perspective of Victor Frankl as articulated in

, and suggests that the reframing technique of dereflection is especially useful with regard to the preservation of meaning. This essay also includes a considerable amount of primary source material from an interview with William Joyce conducted by the author.

Neil Gaiman is a highly acclaimed British author of novels, short fiction, film scripts, graphic novels, and radio plays. His first novel, Neverwhere, was his attempt to fill in the blanks left by ...the television series with the same name, by writing down everything that he could not fit into the restrictive television format. This paper analyses the novel through the lens of structuralism and poststructuralism, in order to reveal inherent social critique, artfully concealed in a game of complex urban imagery, chronotopic structures and intertextual references.
Fantastic fiction, where the referent is evidently a creation of words, facilitates the move beyond meaning to significance, and this marks its difference vis-à-vis realist fiction where the ..."referential fallacy" often gets in the way of the reader reaching the level of significance. Exploiting this potential, Carroll helps the reader of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass suspend their habit of looking at their self and the world as two unrelated entities. He does this by challenging the assumed plenitude of the Cartesian "I" and the substantiality of the world this "I" seeks to know. From this vantage point, the power relations in the Victorian society that the culture of this society sustains become obvious to the reader. This is Carroll's innovation on the tradition in fantasy literature. "Carrolludicity," the use of play to facilitate scrutiny of contemporary knowledge and belief systems, and the unique way in which the food chain becomes a metaphor for contemporary social hierarchy, forcing reflection on the dominant cultural code are instances of this innovation. The Alice books offer their reader the experience of occupying a belief and value neutral space for a few fleeting moments, facilitating reflection on contemporary culture, and herein lies Carroll's relevance for his post-Victorian reader. Carrroll's deconstruction of the symbolic system is more apparent to postmodern readers who are familiar with antifoundationalism, the dominant philosophical stance of their time. The Alice books initiate these readers into the process of becoming sojourners through the cultures of the world, including their own culture, and prepare them for a cosmopolitan life.
The article offers a concise outline of the presence of fantastic in Italian early twentieth-century drama, with the intention to demonstrate that it was not only through narrative, but also through ...dramatic composition that Italian fantasy made a place for itself in the last century. The analysis focuses in particular on four moments in this theatrical trend: a play of Enrico Annibale Butti strongly influenced by Poe; the occult side of futurist «teatro sintetico» (synthetic theatre); the group of «grotesque» playwrights, with a particular attention to Luigi Antonelli’s work; and the presence of “magical realism” in Massimo Bontempelli’s plays.

Carmen Martín Gaite’s Caperucita en Manhattan is a Young Adult novel ahead of its time. If this category had existed in Spain when it was published, it is likely that it would have earned the ...critical recognition it deserves. The novel’s exciting plot, captivating prose, wise cultural commentary, factual content, sense of humor, and message of female empowerment are strong enough to engage readers of all ages. In addition to its literary value, this novel has a key place in the author’s own biography, serving as a bridge back to life and literature after her daughter’s untimely death. A fresh look at Caperucita en Manhattan will reveal the reasons why it is beloved around the world and why it deserves a place in the Martín Gaite novel canon.
The Fantastic in Religious Narrative from Exodus to Elisha argues that perspectives drawn from literary-critical theories of the fantastic and fantasy are apt to explore Hebrew Bible religious ...narratives. The book focuses on the narratives' marvels, monsters, and magic, rather than whether or not the stories depict historical events. The Exodus narrative (Ex 1-18) and a selection of additional Hebrew Bible narratives (Num 11-14, Judg 6-8, 1 Kings 17-19, 2 Kings 4-7) are analysed from a fantasy-theoretical perspective. The 'fantasy perspective' helps to make sense of elements of these narratives that - although prominently featured in the stories - have previously often been explained by being explained away. These case studies can illuminate Hebrew Bible religion and offer wider perspectives on religious narrative generally. In light of the fantasy-theoretical approach, these Hebrew Bible stories - with the Exodus narrative at the centre - read not as foundational stories, affirming triumphantly and unambiguously the bond between the deity, his people, and their territory, but rather as texts that harbour and even actively encourage ambiguity and uncertainty, not necessarily prompting belief, orientation, and a sense of meaningfulness, but also open-ended reflection and doubt. The case studies suggest that other religious narratives, both in and beyond the Judaic tradition, may also be amenable to interpretation in these terms, thus questioning a dominant trend in myth studies. The results of the analyses lead to a discussion of the role of ambiguity, uncertainty, and transformation in religious narrative in broader perspective, and to a questioning of the emphasis in the study of religion on the capacity of religious narrative for founding and maintaining institutions, orienting identity, and defending order over disorder. The book suggests the wider importance of incorporating destabilisation, disorientation, and ambiguity more strongly into theories of what relig
