A list of corrected and typified grassland communities of the class Molinio-Arrhenatheretea Tx. 1937 occurring in Serbia was provided. The nomenclature rules of the International Code of ...Phytosociological Nomenclature were strictly followed. Syntaxonomic affiliation of communities to higher syntaxa was assessed according to the existing syntaxonomical schemes for Serbia, i.e. according to the position determined by the original source. Higher syntaxa followed the synsystem of the so-called “EuroVegChecklist”. Since syntaxonomic disagreements concerning a certain plant association’s position within the whole classification system have not been discussed, such a list should serve as the starting point for a further revision of the status of grassland communities in Serbia. So far, a total of 87 plant communities of the class Molinio-Arrhenatheretea were described for Serbia.
The list provided here will enable more precise and more accurate mapping of vegetation in Serbia, as well as classification of these communities into the Habitat Directive which will enable the establishment of the Red list of Habitats for Serbia.
V članku so predstavljene nomenklaturno popravljene in tipifizirane traviščne združbe razreda Molinio-Arrhenatheretea Tx. 1937, ki se pojavljajo v Srbiji. Dosledno smo upoštevali pravila Mednarodnega kodeksa fitocenološke nomenklature. Sintaksonomsko pripadnost združb višjim sintaksonom smo ohranili glede na obstoječe sintaksonomske sheme v Srbiji oziroma glede na uvrstitev v originalnem viru. Višji sintaksoni sledijo sintaksonomiji po “EuroVegChecklist”. Glede na to, da nismo obravnavali uvrstitve posameznih rastlinskih združb v sintaksonomski sistem, bo ta seznam omogočil sintaksonomsko revizijo traviščnih združb Srbije. Do sedaj je bilo na ozemlju Srbije opisanih 87 rastlinskih združb razreda Molinio-Arrhenatheretea. Seznam bo omogočil tudi bolj natančno kartiranje vegetacije Srbije in povezavo teh združb s Habitatno direktivo in izdelavo Rdečega seznama habitatnih tipov Srbije.
A recently completed project on the Natura 2000 sites of Prespa National Park revealed that the area hosts 49 habitat types according to the EU classification, of which eight have a narrowly ...restricted distribution in Greece. The priority habitat type “*6260 Pannonic sand steppes” is reported here for the first time for Greece. The new locality represents its southernmost occurrence on the Balkan Peninsula. The aim of this paper therefore is to describe the Greek stands of this habitat type, investigate the factors affecting its occurrence and discuss the associated conservation issues. This is based on a total of 87 releves sampled for this study and 8 additional releves from the literature. The releves were classified by applying TWINSPAN and ordinated using Detrended Correspondence Analysis (DCA). Six vegetation units could be distinguished. One of these corresponds to the habitat type *6260 and was found exclusively on inland sand dunes. Syntaxonomically, we assigned this unit to the alliance Sileno conicae-Cerastion semidecandri s.l. of the class Koelerio-Corynephoretea. Its occurrence in the study area seems to be determined by climatic factors, as well as by the sandy substrate, while anthropogenic disturbances such as grazing also appear to be beneficial to some degree. Apart from the Koelerio-Corynephoretea, another five grassland classes were distinguished in the national park, namely the Thero-Brachypodietea, Stellarietea mediae, Festuco-Brometea, Daphno-Festucetea and Juncetea trifidi.
Nedavno končani projekt o območjih Natura 2000 v Narodnem parku Prespa je pokazal, da je na območju po EU klasifikaciji 49 habitatnih tipov, od katerih jih je osem z ozko razširjenostjo v Grčiji. Pojavljanje prednostnega habitata “*6260 Panonske stepe na peščenih tleh” v Grčiji objavljamo prvič. Nova lokacija predstavlja najjužnejše pojavljanje na Balkanskem polotoku. Namen članka je opisati sestoje tega habitatnega tipa v Grčiji, preučiti dejavnike, ki vplivajo na njegovo pojavljanje in razpravljati o vprašanjih, povezanih z njegovim ohranjanjem. Raziskava temelji na 87 vegetacijskih popisih in 8 dodatnih popisih iz literature. Popise smo numerično obdelali s pomočjo TWINSPAN klasifikacije in z uporabo korespondenčne analize z odstranjenim trendom (DCA). Ločili smo šest vegetacijskih enot. Ena ustreza habitatnemu tipu in smo jo našli le na celinskih peščenih sipinah. Sintaksonomsko smo jo uvrstili v zvezo Sileno conicae-Cerastion semidecandri s.l. in razred Koelerio-Corynephoretea. Njeno pojavljanje v preučevanem območju je pogojeno s klimatskimi dejavniki in peščeno podlago, antropogene motnje, kot na primer paša, pa do neke mere nanjo vplivajo pozitivno. Poleg travišč razreda Koelerio-Corynephoretea smo v parku našli še pet travišč iz razredov Thero-Brachypodietea, Stellarietea mediae, Festuco-Brometea, Daphno-Festucetea in Juncetea trifidi.
The grasslands dominated by Bromus erectus and/or Brachypodium rupestre cover large areas on sandstone and marl-clay-sandstone substrata (limestone is excluded), of the Apennines and pre-Apennines ...between Pistoia and Arezzo provinces (Tuscany, Central Italy). Our investigation was focused on to 71 unpublished releves and 45 literature releves from Tuscany and surrounding areas, reporting the original releves of Astragalo monspessulani-Brometum erecti, Centaureo bracteatae-Brometum erecti and Ononido masquillerii-Brometum erecti. The releves were submitted to exploratory multivariate analysis, allowing to detect nine distinct groups. Their consistence was verified by mean of NMDS against Ellenberg/Pignatti indicator values, and CCA constrained against chorotypes and growth forms. Diagnostic species of the definitive groups resulting from the analysis were chosen according to species fidelity, based on the φ coefficient of association. The analysis splits the data set in two main subclusters; the first one (A) includes few releves of low altitude, thermophilous conenoses, interpreted as a transition between the submediterranean aspects of Festuco-Brometea class and other Mediterranean herbaceous and shrubby classes; the second subcluster (B) includes most of the data set and can be clearly subdivided in pioneering, mesoxerophilous communities (B1 and B2a groups) and mesophilous communities (B2b group). The releves of clusters B1 and B2a are referred to Coronillo minimae-Astragaletum monspessulanii association and to three other groups: Plantago argentea-Carex caryophyllea communities, Tragopogon samaritani-Bromus erectus communities, Festuco trachyphyllae-Brometum erecti ass. nova. The mesophilous group (B2b) includes the original Centaureo bracteatae-Brometum erecti and Ononido masquillerii-Brometum erecti releves, together with a slightly differentiated community; due to the non-relevant differences between these grassland types from floristic, ecological and chorological perspectives, we propose herewith to treat them as three subassociations of Centaureo bracteatae-Brometum erecti (typicum, ononidetosum masquillerii and linetosum cathartici). Post-cultural grasslands in human-disturbed areas were also detected. All these communities can be attributed to Polygalo mediterraneae-Bromenion erecti suballiance (Bromion alliance), even if a clear subdivision between the mesoxerophilous pioneer aspects and the more mesophilous and evolved ones can be noted.
Travišča v katerih prevladujeta vrsti Bromus erectus in/ali Brachypodium rupestre pokrivajo velike površine na podlagi iz peščenjaka in laporasto-glinastega peščenjaka (apnenec je izključen) na Apeninih in območju pred njimi med provincama Pistoia in Arezzo (Toskana, srednja Italija). Naša raziskava je bila osredotočena na 71 neobjavljenih in 45 objavljenih vegetacijskih popisov iz Toskane in sosednjih območij. Originalni popisi opisujejo asociacije Astragalo monspessulani-Brometum erecti, Centaureo bracteatae-Brometum erecti in Ononido masquillerii-Brometum erecti. Popise smo obdelali z multivariatno analizo s katero smo zaznali 9 skupin. Konsistenstnost skupin smo preverili s povprečjem NMDS proti Ellenberg/Pignatti indikatorskim vrednostim in CCA proti horotipom in rastnim oblikam. Diagnostične vrste posameznih skupin smo določili z navezanostjo vrst, ki temelji na φ koeficientu asociacije. Z analizo smo podatkovni niz razdelili na dva klastra; prvi (A) vključuje nekaj popisov termofilne cenoze z nižje nadmorske višine, ki jih opišemo kot prehod med submediteranskim aspektom razreda Festuco-Brometea in drugih mediteranskih zeliščnih in grmiščnih razredov; drugi klaster (B) pa vključuje večino podatkovnega niza in ga lahko členimo na pionirske, mezokserofilne (skupini B1 in B2a) in mezofilne združbe (skupina B2b). Popise klastrov B1 in B2a uvrščamo v asociacijo Coronillo minimae-Astragaletum monspessulanii in tri druge skupine: združba Plantago argentea-Carex caryophyllea, združba Tragopogon samaritani-Bromus erectus in Festuco trachyphyllae-Brometum erecti ass. nova. Mezofilna skupina (B2b) vključuje popise asociacij Centaureo bracteatae-Brometum erecti in Ononido masquillerii- Brometum erecti, skupaj z delno spremenjeno združbo. Zaradi majhnih razlik v florističnem, ekološkem in horološkem pogledu med temi traviščnimi tipi predlagamo, da jih obravnavamo kot tri subasociacije Centaureo bracteatae-Brometum erecti (typicum, ononidetosum masquillerii in linetosum cathartici). Opisali smo tudi nekaj negospodarjenih travišč na motenih rastiščih. Vse združbe lahko uvrstimo v podzvezo Polygalo mediterraneae- Bromenion erecti (podzveza Bromion), čeprav je opazna delitev med mezokserofilnim pionirskim in mezofilnim in bolj razvitim aspektom.
A phytosociological survey was carried out in a poorly known travertine area of southern Tuscany harbouring a rich vegetation mosaic with chamaephytic garrigues, species-rich xerophytic grasslands, ...chasmophytic coenoses, annual species-dominated communities, shrublands and thermophilous deciduous forests. Field sampling and data analysis allowed to identify and characterize several community types, some of which of significant interest due to their ecological specificity and rarity in peninsular Italy. In particular, our data confirm the associations Pistacio terebinthi-Paliuretum spinosae and Pistacio terebinthi-Quercetum pubescentis, respectively a shrub and forest community type previously unknown for Tuscany. In addition, a new therophytic association of travertine debris named Sedetum hispanico-caespitosi and placed in the Hypochoerion achyrophori alliance (Brachypodietalia distachyi order, Tuberarietea class) is also described. Finally, dynamic relationships between the vegetation types are highlighted and the presence of conservation priority habitats in the area are pointed out.
Opravili smo fitocenološko raziskavo na malo znanem območju na travertinu v južni Toskani z bogatim mozaikom vegetacije z hamefitskimi garigami, vrstno bogatimi kserofitskimi travniki, hazmofitskimi združbami, združbami prevladujočih enoletnic, grmišči in termofilnimi listantimi gozdovi. S terenskim vzorčenjem in analizo podatkov smo opisali in označili številne vegetacijske tipe. Nekateri so še posebej pomembni, ker so ekološko posebni in redki na italijanskem poltotoku. Potrdili smo prisotnost asociacij Pistacio terebinthi-Paliuretum spinosae in Pistacio terebinthi-Quercetum pubescentis, grmiščnih in gozdnih združb, ki sta bili do sedaj neznani v Toskani. Opisali smo novo terofitsko asociacijo na travertinskem grušču Sedetum hispanico-caespitosi in jo uvrstili v zvezo Hypochoerion achyrophori (red Brachypodietalia distachyi, razred Tuberarietea). Prikazali smo dinamične odnose med vegetacijskimi tipi in izpostavili naravovarstveno prednostne habitate na raziskovanem območju.
A phytosociological survey of a woodland located in the central part of Umbria (Central Italy) was carried out using the Braun-Blanquet method: 80 relevés were classified through cluster analysis. ...Nine forest syntaxa were reported and three subassociations (Erico arboreae-Quercetum cerridis lathyretosum veneti, Aceri obtusati-Quercetum cerridis arbutetosum unedonis and Cyclamino hederifolii-Quercetum ilicis quercetosum cerridis) were typified. Topographic data (altitude, aspect, slope, morphology) and pedological data (soil pH, texture and depth) were collected and a synecological analysis of syntaxa was performed. In order to understand the relation between environmental factors and plant communities, a Canonical Correspondence Analysis was run. The results showed soil parameters (pH, texture and depth) and altitude as the main ecological factors explaining the distribution of plant communities in the study area. The combination of topographic factors (aspect, morphology and slope angle) influences, by contrast revealed the distribution of forest syntaxa within homogeneous geo-pedological and bioclimatic conditions.
Izvedli smo fitosociološko raziskavo gozdov v srednjem delu Umbrije (srednja Italija) z Braun-Blanquetovo metodo: 80 popisov smo uvrstili s klastrsko analizo. Obravnavamo devet gozdnih sintaksonov in opisali smo tri subasociacije (Erico arboreae-Quercetum cerridis lathyretosum veneti, Aceri obtusati-Quercetum cerridis arbutetosum unedonis in Cyclamino hederifolii-Quercetum ilicis quercetosum cerridis). Zbrali smo topografske (nadmosrska višina, ekspozicija, naklon, morfologija terena) in pedološke podatke (pH, tekstura in globina tal) in naredili sinekološko analizo sintaksonov. Za pojasnitev povezave med rastiščnimi dejavniki in rastlinskimi združbami smo naredili Canonical Correspondence Analysis. Rezultati kažejo, da so dejavniki tal (pH, tekstura in globina) in nadmorska višina glavni rastiščni dejavniki, ki pojasnjejo razširjenost rastlinskih združb v obravnavanem območju. Kombinacija topografskih dejavnikov (ekspozicija, morfologija reliefa in naklon) je odločilna za pojavljanje gozdnih sintaksonov v homogenih geopedoloških in bioklimatskih razmerah.
A syntaxonomical analysis of the dry grasslands (Festuco-Brometea) in Bosnek karst region, Mt Vitosha (SW Bulgaria) has been carried out. These grasslands are part of the intrazonal vegetation ...distributed within the belts of xerophilous oak and mesophilous beech forest in the south-western foothills of the mountain. The bedrock is carbonate, the soils are dry and shallow, climate - moderate continental. This vegetation grows mostly on steep slopes, with southern and south-western exposition. Apart from the typical for Festuco-Brometea calcicoles, the studied vegetation is characterized by many endemic (regional and local) species and at the same time includes a lot of Mediterranean species. As a result of the analysis, a new association, Bromo moesiacae-Stipetum epilosae ass. nova, has been established that belongs to the alliance Saturejon montanae. A comparison with related syntaxa from other karst mountains from SW Bulgaria and E Serbia is made, and some conclusions about the origin of the steppe vegetation in that region are drawn.
Naredili smo sintaksonomsko analizo suhih travnikov (Festuco-Brometea) v kraškem območju Bosnek v gorovju Vitoša (jugozahodna Bolgarija). Ti travniki so del intraconalne vegetacije, razširjene v pasu kserofilnih hrastovih in mezofilnih bukovih gozdov na jugozahodnih vznožjih hribovja. Matična podlaga je karbonatna, tla so suha in plitva, podnebje je zmerno celinsko. Vegetacija uspeva na strmih naklonih z južno in jugozahodno ekspozicijo. Poleg značilnih vrst razreda Festuco-Brometea označujejo preučevano vegetacijo številne endemične (regionalne in lokalne) vrste in številne sredozemske vrste. Kot rezultat smo opisali novo asociacijo Bromo moesiacae-Stipetum epilosae ass. nova, ki jo uvršč amo v zvezo Saturejon montanae. Naredili smo tudi primerjavo s sorodnimi sintaksoni s kraških gorovij jugozahodne Bolgarije in vzhodne Srbije in podali nekaj zaključkov o izvoru stepske vegetacije v preučevanem območju.
The results of a phytosociological survey of the woods mainly growing on limestones in the Southern part of the Marches Region (Central Italy), that is part of the Monti Sibillini National Park, are ...here presented. This area is characterized by a temperate climate (upper mesotemperate and lower/upper supratemperate bioclimatic belts). In order to study the vegetation, 173 phytosociological relevés were carried out through the Braun-Blanquet methodology. All the data obtained were submitted to multivariate analysis. The phytosociological analysis is characterized in nine associations, whereof three are of new description (Lathyro veneti-Fagetum sylvaticae hieracietosum murorum, Cardamino kitaibelii-Fagetum sylvaticae corallorhizetosum trifidae and Cardamino kitaibelii-Fagetum sylvaticae anemonetosum nemorosae).
Prikazani so rezultati fitocenološke raziskave gozdov, ki uspevajo predvsem na apnencu v južnem delu pokrajine Marche (srednja Italija), to je v delu Nacionalnega parka Monti Sibillini. To območje označuje zmerna klima (zgornji mezotemperatni in spodnji/zgornji supratemperatni bioklimatki pas). Vegetacijo smo proučili s 173 fitocenološkimi popisi po Braun-Blanquetovi metodi. Vse popisno gradivosmo analizirali z multivariatno statistiko. S fitocenološko analizo smo dobili devet asociacij, od tega so tri novoopisane (Lathyro veneti-Fagetum sylvaticae hieracietosum murorum, Cardamino kitaibelii-Fagetum sylvaticae corallorhizetosum trifidae and Cardamino kitaibelii-Fagetum sylvaticae anemonetosum nemorosae).
The standard Braun-Blanquet method was used for sampling litter-raking vegetation in southeastern Slovenia (Suha krajina, Bela krajina, Kočevsko) and in the border region in Croatia. Relevés were ...classified with the TWINSPAN program and two associations were separated: Pteridio-Betuletum Trinajstić et Šugar ex Rauš et Matić 1994 and Molinio-Quercetum Šugar 1972. Both communities are the result of intensive litter collecting (and other human impacts). The first one thrives on carbonate bedrock, while the second is limited on silicate bedrock, as is reflected in its specific floristic composition. Due to abandonment of litter collecting these stands are in progressive successional development, and typical variants are becoming rare and endangered.
S standardno Braun-Blanquetovo metodo smo vzorčili steljniško vegetacijo vjugovzhodni Sloveniji (Suha krajina, Bela krajina, Kočevsko) in na mejnem območju s Hrvaško. Popisno gradivo smo klasificirali s programom TWINSPAN in ločili dve asociaciji: Pteridio-Betuletum Trinajstić et Šugar ex Rauš et Matić 1994 in Molinio-Quercetum Šugar 1972. Obe združbi sta nastali zaradi intenzivnega steljarjenja. Prva uspeva na karbonatni podlagi, druga je vezana na silikatne kamnine, kar se odraža v floristični sestavi. Zaradi opuščanja steljarjenja sta obe združbi podvrženi progresivnemu sukcesijskemu razvoju in sta v tipični obliki vedno bolj redki in ogroženi.
The phytosociological research of the oak forest vegetation was carried out in the northern part of the Štiavnické vrchy Mts (Central Slovakia) using the standard Zürich-Montpellier approach. The ...data set consisting of 41 phytosociological relevés was obtained by the authors in two vegetation seasons in 2008 and 2009. The numerical classification and the ordination methods were applied to determine the main vegetation types and to explain the structure of the vegetation-environmental data matrix, respectively. Four associations within two classes were distinguished: Luzulo albidae-Quercetum petraeae Hilitzer 1932, typical for shallow, mineral-poor and acidic soils, Melico uniflorae-Quercetum petraeae Gergely 1962 occuring on mesic stands with skeletal and deeper soils, Poo nemoralis-Quercetum dalechampii Šomšák et Háberová 1979 developing on moderately canopyopened stands in the submontane belt, Sorbo torminalis-Quercetum Svoboda ex Blažková 1962 growing on moderately acidic substrates in drier regions. The major environmental gradients responsible for variation in forest species composition was associated with soil nutrient and soil reaction following the Ellenberg indicator values as well as the measured environmental variables (C/N-ratio and soil acidity). Special attention was given to the discussion on species composition and site ecology.
Fitocenološke raziskave hrastovih gozdov v severnem delu gorovja Štiavnické vrchy (srednja Slovaška) smo naredili po Zürichško-Montpellierski metodi. Enainštirideset vegetacijskih popisov smo naredili v dveh vegetacijskih sezonah v letih 2008 in 2009. Za določitev glavnih vegetacijskih tipov in za obrazložitev strukture podatkovne matrike vegetacijskih popisov in ekoloških spremenljivk smo uporabili numerično klasifikacijo in ordinacijo. Znotraj dveh razredov smo ločili štiri asociacije: Luzulo albidae-Quercetum petraeae Hilitzer 1932, značilna za plitva, z minerali revna, kisla tla, Melico uniflorae-Quercetum petraeae Gergely 1962, ki se pojavlja na mezičnih rastiščih s skeletnimi, globljimi tlemi, Poo nemoralis-Quercetum dalechampii Šomšák et Háberová 1979, ki se razvije v zmerno odprtih sestojih v submontanskem pasu, Sorbo torminalis-Quercetum Svoboda ex Blažková 1962 pa uspeva na zmerno kislih tleh v sušnejših predelih. Glavna okoljska gradienta, ki vplivata na floristično sestavo, sta hranila v tleh in reakcija tal. Odražata se tako v Ellenbergovih indikatorskih vrednostih kot v merjenih okoljskih spremenljivkah (C/N razmerje in kislost tal). Poseben poudarek smo namenili diskusiji o vrstni sestavi in ekologiji rastišč.
The study presents phytosociological and ecological data from azonal black alder forest sites in the southern part of central Slovakia. A data set of 29 relevés was collected by authors in vegetation ...season 2010 following the standard Braun-Blanquet approach. Numerical classification was performed to delimit the main vegetation types, while statistical analyses were applied to explain the vegetation-environmental relationships. Three associations within two classes were distinguished using a TWINSPAN algorithm. Carici elongatae-Alnetum glutinosae Schwickerath 1933 is an alder carr forest occurring on waterlogged soils in spring fed areas and alluvial zones along rivers. Carici acutiformis-Alnetum glutinosae Scamoni 1933 represents an alder carr forest on habitats with stagnant or slowly flowing water along water courses and artificial water reservoirs. Mesic to humid stands along small brooks are typical for the riparian alder vegetation of Stellario-Alnetum glutinosae Lohmeyer 1957. A detailed description of the floristic and ecological features of these associations is presented. The major environmental gradients affecting variation in species composition of these communities were interpreted as a response of vegetation to soil moisture and nutrient availability regarding the Ellenberg indicator values (moisture and nutrients) and measured variables (total N and C).
V članku so predstavljeni fitosociološki in ekološki podatki iz azonalnih gozdov črne jelše v južnem delu osrednje Slovaške. V vegetacijskem obdobju leta 2010 smo naredili 29 popisov po standardni Braun-Blanquetovi metodi. Z numerično klasifikacijo smo opredelili glavne vegetacijske tipe, s statističnimi metodami pa pojasnili povezavo med vegetacijo in okoljskimi dejavniki. Z algoritmom TWINSPAN smo ločili tri asociacije znotraj dveh razredov. V asociacijo Carici elongatae-Alnetum glutinosae Schwickerath 1933 uvrščamo jelševe greze na rastiščih z visoko talno vodo ob potokih in na aluvialnih ravninah ob rekah. Asociacija Carici acutiformis-Alnetum glutinosae Scamoni 1933 predstavlja jelševe gozdove na rastiščih z zastajajočo ali počasi tekočo vodo ob vodotokih in umetnih vodnih telesih. Mezofilni do vlažni sestoji ob majhnih potokih so značilni za asociacijo Stellario-Alnetum glutinosae Lohmeyer 1957. V članku so podrobno opisane floristična sestava in rastiščne značilnosti teh asociacij. Glavni ekološki gradienti, ki se kažejo v vrstni sestavi, so talna vlaga in hranila. Med Ellenbergovimi indikatorskimi vrednostmi sta to vlažnost in hranila, med merjenimi spremenljivkami pa skupni N in C.
