Em similitude ao exercício, os autores sugerem uma leitura não linear, de modo a desmontar o próprio texto.
GENI, the Global Environment for Networking Innovation, is a distributed virtual laboratory for transformative, at-scale experiments in network science, services, and security. Designed in response ...to concerns over Internet ossification, GENI is enabling a wide variety of experiments in a range of areas, including clean-slate networking, protocol design and evaluation, distributed service offerings, social network integration, content management, and in-network service deployment. Recently, GENI has been leading an effort to explore the potential of its underlying technologies, SDN and GENI racks, in support of university campus network management and applications. With the concurrent deployment of these technologies on regional and national R&E backbones, this will result in a revolutionary new national-scale distributed architecture, bringing to the entire network the shared, deeply programmable environment that the cloud has brought to the datacenter. This deeply programmable environment will support the GENI research mission and as well as enabling research in a wide variety of application areas.
Recently, several large-scale software defined networking (SDN) testbeds have been designed and developed. These SDN testbeds have spurred numerous network researchers to run their prototypes and ...experiments, as well as to set up novel architectures for the future Internet. Based on these efforts, SDN testbeds are actively contributing to future network research, bringing forth the attention of both academia and industry. In addition, researchers envisage these large-scale SDN testbeds to be the future Internet. In this paper, we present a comprehensive survey and research challenges for large-scale SDN testbeds. We first introduce the related work and background knowledge. Then, an overview of SDN testbeds is presented. In addition, five typical implementations of large-scale SDN testbeds around the world are described in detail, including design objectives, key technologies, deployment, and experiments. Moreover, an in-depth comparison of SDN testbeds is given. Finally, challenges and future works of SDN testbeds are discussed.
Software-defined Networking (SDN) has emerged as a new paradigm of networking that enables network operators, owners, vendors, and even third parties to innovate and create new capabilities at a ...faster pace. The SDN paradigm shows potential for all domains of use, including data centers, cellular providers, service providers, enterprises, and homes. Over a three-year period, we deployed SDN technology at our campus and at several other campuses nation-wide with the help of partners. These deployments included the first-ever SDN prototype in a lab for a (small) global deployment. The four-phased deployments and demonstration of new networking capabilities enabled by SDN played an important role in maturing SDN and its ecosystem. We share our experiences and lessons learned that have to do with demonstration of SDN’s potential; its influence on successive versions of OpenFlow specification; evolution of SDN architecture; performance of SDN and various components; and growing the ecosystem.
Projekt ljudskoga genoma završen je 2003. godine, a njegovi su rezultati otkrili dotada nepoznate detalje o našem genomu: skupinu informacija o tome kako ljudska bića izgledaju, kako djeluju, ...osjećaju, misle i razvijaju se. Uskoro su ostvarene i druge međunarodne suradnje poput projekta HapMap i Projekta 1000 genoma. Unatoč tomu što su primarno bili usmjereni na istraživanje varijabilnosti u ljudskoj populaciji, kao i moguće povezanosti različitih varijacija s različitim stanjima i bolestima, ti su projekti također znatno utjecali na razumijevanje utjecaja gena na sportski uspjeh. Usporedno su razvijene poboljšane metode genske analize i genskoga preinačavanja na temelju kojih je postalo moguće utvrditi kandidatske gene odgovorne za različite fenotipe uspješnosti u sportu te razviti protokole slične genskim terapijama za poboljšanje sportskih natjecateljskih performansi sportaša. Ovaj rad daje pregled razvoja u genetici, pregled kandidatskih gena povezanih sa sportskim natjecateljskim performansama te etičke dvojbe vezane uz preinačavanje genoma radi poboljšavanja sportskih natjecateljskih performansi.

Sobre a representação da personagem Geni, destacamos uma posição de resistência frente à opressão capitalista-colonial por meio da experiência de práticas sexuais não apenas moralmente transgressoras, mas sobretudo economicamente improdutivas.
Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de yetiştirilen 7 yerli koyun ırkında kalpastatin (CAST) gen polimorfizmi PCR-RFLP metodu kullanılarak araştırılmıştır. CAST geninin M ve N allelleri frekansları; Kangal (n= ...31), İvesi (n= 26), Güney Karaman(n= 23), Akkaraman (n= 21), Morkaraman (n= 34), Karayaka (n= 33) ve Karakaş (n= 22) koyun ırklarında sırasıyla 0.92-0.08, 0.59-0.41, 0.67-0.33, 0.69-0.31, 0.87-0.13, 0.86-0.14, 0.89-0.11 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ki-kare testi CAST geni bakımından Morkaraman, İvesi ve Karayaka populasyonlarının Hardy-Weinberg dengesinden önemli düzeyde (P<0.05)saptığını, diğer populasyonların ise Hardy-Weinberg dengesinde olduğunu göstermiştir.
Mg3GeNi2 hydrogen storage electrode alloy was synthesized successfully via mechanical milling followed by sintering, and its electrochemical performance as the negative electrode material in a ...nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery was studied for the first time. Then, different amounts of nano-nickel were added to the selected alloy with the pre-milling duration of 60 h to further improve the electrochemical performance. XRD results indicate that partial substitution of Mg by Ge in Mg2Ni can form a stable new phase of Mg3GeNi2 with excellent cycle stability. Nano-Ni addition can increase dramatically the discharge capacity and electrochemical kinetics of the alloy, which is attributed to the good electrocatalytic capability of the nano-Ni. The Mg3GeNi2-5 wt.% nano-Ni sample shows the optimum overall properties with the best electrochemical kinetics and the highest discharge capacity.
