. Laterality is a widely studied phenomenon, but the factors involved in its development have not yet been clearly determined. However, mainly during childhood, several studies have shown that ...lateral dominance can be trained and modified. In various sports disciplines lateral dominance turns out to be a key factor in performance, so it is considered as such in training. Our objective is to examine the coaches' perception of the laterality treatment in karate training. We have used a descriptive quantitative methodology, carrying out a cross-sectional study based on the sample, applying an ad hoc designed questionnaire. 72 active coaches have agreed to participate in the study. Ambidextrism is the type of laterality that provides the most advantages at a competitive level according to coaches. The segment in which it is most common for athletes to undergo a forced lateral change is the foot. Such modification usually occurs mainly in those people who are right-handed, with the aim that they change to a left-handed lateral dominance. Most coaches who try to change the laterality of their athletes, do so when they are more than 7 years old, and usually when they are at a national competitive level. Coaches “almost always” perform balanced bilateral work in kumite and kata, considering it important to maintain this balance.
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of game-based karate training on learning basic karate skills and karate children's interest in physical activity. The statistical ...population of this research included all 6 to 8-year-old female karate players in Sowmeh Sara city, Iran and twenty subjects were randomly selected and divided into two experimental and control groups of 10. The experimental group practiced game-based karate training for eight weeks. The training program was designed based on the principles of the Fundamental stage of the Canadian model of long-term development of athletes (LTAD) for karate sport. Physical activity enjoyment scale in children was used to measure children's interest in physical activity and karate yellow belt test was used for measurement of learning basic karate tasks. ANCOVA test was used for data analysis using SPSS 24 software at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the learning of basic karate skills, but a significant effect was seen in the enjoyment of children in the experimental group for physical activity (sig<0.001). Therefore, game-based karate training can help children learn basic karate skills as much as the traditional method, and also increase their enjoyment in physical activity more effectively.
•Present a novel and efficient algorithm for the colored triad census.•Derive number of isomorphism classes for up to 10 colors.•Derive the computational complexity of the algorithm and test on ...simulated networks.•Heatmaps allow visual presentation of results for holistic interpretation.
The triad census is an important approach to understand local structure in network science, providing comprehensive assessments of the observed relational configurations between triples of actors in a network. However, researchers are often interested in combinations of relational and categorical nodal attributes. In this case, it is desirable to account for the label, or color, of the nodes in the triad census. In this paper, we describe an efficient algorithm for constructing the colored triad census, based, in part, on existing methods for the classic triad census. We evaluate the performance of the algorithm using empirical and simulated data for both undirected and directed graphs. The results of the simulation demonstrate that the proposed algorithm reduces computational time by approximately many-fold over the naïve approach. We also apply the colored triad census to the Zachary karate club network dataset. We simultaneously show the efficiency of the algorithm, and a way to conduct a statistical test on the census by forming a null distribution from 1000 realizations of a mixing-matrix conditioned graph and comparing the observed colored triad counts to the expected. From this, we demonstrate the method's utility in our discussion of results about homophily, heterophily, and bridging, simultaneously gained via the colored triad census. In sum, the proposed algorithm for the colored triad census brings novel utility to social network analysis in an efficient package.
Introduction: In the third millennium, political, economic, geographical, and technological changes have had a profound effect on organizations. The speed of these changes, along with the increase in ...global competition, has forced organizations to reorganize their activities by rethinking new marketing methods (Veynberg et al, 2018). In this regard, sports organizations to increase their competitiveness, need to use various tools to be able to facilitate the achievement of predetermined goals and results (Hautbois, 2019). Among these sports organizations are federations, which play an important role in developing and developed countries. Sports federations operate in a competitive and dynamic environment; An environment in which internal and external variables are constantly changing and it is very difficult to predict these changes (Shamounian et al, 2019). Due to the high sensitivity in the current sports industry and in order to achieve effectiveness in marketing programs, recognizing the dimensions of managerial competencies has become a vital factor in sports success. In fact, strong managerial competencies in contemporary sports management can be a source of significant competitive advantage (Frawley et al, 2018). On the other hand, another component that provides the necessary context for the emergence of managerial competencies is structural capital (Matos et al, 2017). In this regard Swanson et al (2020) in their research, they concluded that managerial competencies have a significant positive effect on knowledge sharing and job performance of employees. Neumeyer & Liu (2021) also concluded that the adoption of new (digital) technologies can significantly contribute to a company's short-term and long-term competitive advantages. In the new era, the professionalization of sports and the performance of sports organizations, along with the increase in organizational and non-organizational areas of sports, has forced managers and employees of sports organizations to seek new processes in their field of performance beyond traditional concepts (Dellitalia, 2018). In addition, sports federations, especially the Karate Federation, have faced many problems in purchasing equipment and supplies, sending their teams to international competitions, holding training camps, holding training competitions, and so on. Given the above, the researcher seeks to answer this question: Is there a relationship between managerial competencies and structural capital with the effectiveness of marketing programs of the Karate Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran? Methodology: The research is an applied one and in terms of data collection method is a correlational research based on structural equation modeling which was conducted in the field. The statistical population of the study includes all members of the Karate Federation (president, vice president, vice president of women, secretary of the federation, staff of the federation (various committees and staff of other departments) (43 people), members of provincial karate boards (presidents, vice president, finance officer, teachers The provincial karate boards (124 people) and experts in the field of karate included first-class coaches, judges, and national athletes (56 people). All members of the community were identified as a total of 223 people. In this study, the Cutler and Keller (2006) marketing program effectiveness questionnaire, Nwokah, & Ahiauzu (2008) and Shakarian (2013) structural capital questionnaires were used. The face and content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by 10 professors and the construct validity was confirmed using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Results and Discussion: According to the results of Pearson correlation test, it is observed that between managerial competencies and structural capital (Sig = 0.001, r = 0.873), between managerial competencies and the effectiveness of marketing programs (Sig = 0.001, 0.778). r) And there is a significant positive relationship between structural capital and the effectiveness of marketing programs (Sig = 0.001, r = 0.894). After examining the relationship between research variables, the research model was designed in AMOS software version 24. Conclusion: The results of structural equation modeling showed that managerial competencies have a significant positive effect on the effectiveness of Karate Federation marketing programs. Also, based on the findings of the structural equation model, it was observed that structural capital has a significant positive effect on the effectiveness of the marketing programs of the Karate Federation. The research findings are in line with the results of Neumeyer & Liu (2021) research. In addition, based on the findings of the research model, it was observed that managerial competencies have a significant positive effect on the structural assets of the Karate Federation. This research finding is in line with the results of Swanson et al (2020) research. Based on the results of this research, it is suggested that the marketing director of the Karate Federation coordinate with the director of research, production, procurement, physical and financial distribution, etc., so that different marketing opportunities serve the needs of important marketing departments, territories and presentation. Design services. In addition, it is recommended that the unit manager in the Karate Sports Federation have the appropriate information to plan and properly allocate resources in different markets, products, domains and marketing tools to create effective marketing.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of specialized Kyokushin karate exercises on the activity of leg muscles and the height of the medial longitudinal arch in adolescent ...girls with foot pronation. Methods: This study recruited twenty-four adolescent girls with foot pronation who voluntarily agreed to participate and were randomly assigned to either a training group (n=12) or control group (n=12). The training program consisted of eight weeks of specialized Kyokushin karate exercises. The fibularis longus, tibialis anterior, and lateral gastrocnemius muscles activity was measured during single-leg landing using surface electromyography. The medial longitudinal arch height was measured using the navicular drop test. All statistical analyses, including independent and paired t-tests, were conducted using SPSS software, version 26 at a significance level of 0.05. Results: The results showed that following eight weeks of specialized Kyokushin karate exercises, there was a significant increase in the activity levels of the tibialis anterior (P=0.005) and lateral gastrocnemius (P=0.04) muscles in the training group compared to the control group. However, there was no significant change in the activity of the fibularis longus muscle in the training group compared to the control group (P>0.05). Within the training group, there was a significant increase in the activity of all three measured muscles (fibularis longus, P=0.009; tibialis anterior, P=0.008; and lateral gastrocnemius, P=0.008) from post-test to pre-test (P<0.05). Additionally, the study found that the amount of navicular drop in the training group was significantly reduced compared to the control group (P=0.04) after eight weeks of training Conclusion: This study demonstrated that eight weeks of specialized Kyokushin karate exercises resulted in a significant increase in the activity levels of the tibialis anterior and lateral gastrocnemius muscles in adolescent girls with foot pronation. These exercises also improved the height of the medial longitudinal arch, indicating a potential solution for correcting flat feet. Therefore, we recommend Kyokushin karate exercises to improve muscle activity and arch height in adolescent girls with foot pronation.
INTRODUCTIONWith the advent of mixed martial arts (MMA) growing in popularity, there has been a described increase in its participation. The term MMA generally describes the hybridization of combat ...disciplines including but not limited to: karate, judo, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, taekwondo, boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai. With increased participation in MMA and martial arts, differing physical demands are placed on participants. Due to the physical nature of combat sports, there are injuries associated with participation. The purpose of this study is to report the incidence and characteristics of injuries seen from various martial art disciplines presenting to United States Emergency Rooms in order to educate participants and providers alike about risks assumed with participating in martial arts.METHODSThe National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS) database was queried for martial arts-related injuries from 2009 to 2019. Cases were examined and data including patient age and gender, injury type and location, hospital disposition, and type of martial arts practiced were extracted.RESULTSA total of 8,400 injuries were recorded, leading to a national estimate of 310,143 martial-arts related injuries over the 11 year period of 2009-2019 (95 % CI 239,063-381,223). The most common types of injuries were strains/sprains (n = 2664, 31.7 %), fractures (n = 1,575, 18.8 %), and contusions/abrasions (n = 1,698, 20.2 %). There were 260 dislocations, with shoulder dislocations being most common (n = 96, 36.9 %). Lower extremities were affected more frequently than upper extremities (n = 3566, 42.5 % versus n = 3026, 36.0 %), with the knee being the single most common location of injury (n = 811, 9.7 %). Males more commonly sustained fractures (19.7 % versus 17.4 %, p = 0.03) and dislocations (3.5 % versus 2.4 %, p = 0.01) when compared to females. Ankle injuries were more common in females than males (10.4 % versus 6.0 %, p < 0.001). Only 2.2 % of patients required admission to the hospital. Risk factors for admission included patients >35 years of age and male sex.CONCLUSIONMartial arts injuries are a significant source of musculoskeletal injuries among patients presenting to US emergency rooms. Lower extremity injuries are seen most frequently, with patients rarely requiring hospital admission. Using this information, both providers and participants may be better equipped to make educated decisions on injury prevention and treatment.

Oriental martial arts has millions of fans around the world. Successfully develop and cultivate all styles of martial arts from Chinese Wushu to full contact Muetai, Kyokushinkai karate, and many ...others. Kyokushinkai Karate is one of the most popular types of martial arts, cultivated by more than 16 million people in 140 countries, which has a well-established training system, one of the elements of which is the development of specialized kata complexes. This is a formalized sequence of movements, combined on the principles of a duel with imaginary one or more opponents. The purpose of the study is to improve the special training of qualified Kyokushinkai karate athletes in the competitive discipline of Kumite with the use of kata complexes. The following research methods were used: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature; sociological methods (questionnaires); pedagogical observation; pedagogical testing, pedagogical experiment; medical and biological methods, and methods of mathematical statistics. The priority of the executioner "Sanchin" and "Tensho" as elements of special training and the significance of their impact on the physical condition of the athlete. The author's technique of training process with the use of kata complexes is developed and introduced, for the directed influence on separate indicators of the level of development of special physical qualities and functional state of karate. As a result of the use of kata in the preparation of qualified karate for Kumite in the athletes of the experimental group, there were significant positive changes in the level of development of special physical qualities and speed and strength indicators when performing many shock combinations. There was a statistically significant (p <0.05) increase in power and time parameters of complex, multi-stroke combinations "Shita Tsuki" - "Mavashi Tsuki" - 25.8%, "Shita Tsuki" - "Mavashi Tsuki" - "Mavashi Geri" - 28.4%).
