Abstract Nowadays we dwell in a permanently connected world in which our attention is constantly and simultaneously claimed by multiple fronts. This leads us to merely superficial relationships. Through a detailed conceptual analysis, this paper shows to what extent this is true and how much it is worth for young people, and from an educational standpoint, to learn how to live their relationships in greater depth. Therefore, and first of all, we turn to the currently forgotten Aristotelian concept of the perfect friendship. It was a kind of deep and essential friendship that Aristotle distinguished from other superficial and incidental types. Secondly, we profusely analyze the current state of affairs. Through several studies, both theoretical and empirical, we try and demonstrate that nowadays there time is scarce that one would need to have in order to develop deep and non-superficial friendship bonds. Thirdly, we point out the way the educational field has been influenced by this inertia context. This has led schools and families as well to only brace superficial friendships. Finally, we conclude that perfect friendship is directly connected with ethics. Then, if we want future generations to grow up as ethical individuals, it is important to provide them with sufficient time to cultivate perfect friendships.
This article starts from the identification of the characteristics that define with some precision the concept of knowledge society and evaluates to what extent these characteristics will condition ...fundamental behaviors of society, particularly in the field of economics, social relations, education and politics. An important part of the thematic focus of the research is to identify characteristics favorable to the elimination of unethical behaviors in terms of interpersonal and social relations, and specifically the processes of corruption in economics and politics, which today are rife in many societies. The theoretical and practical concerns with the construction of future knowledge-based societies are now widely shared by researchers in the social sciences; and questions about the transparency of political, economic and social decisions are felt not only in scientific, religious, and cultural institutions, but they begin to trigger specific behavior in politics. This study is driven by these concerns and seeks to define the characteristics of knowledge societies, as well as identify resources that can control undesirable social behaviors such as corruption. The methodology used in the study combined two processes: data collection by questionnaire, submitted to an appropriate statistical treatment and the collection of opinions expressed by the interviewees on these subjects. Qualitative remarks made by respondents point out that disclosure should be made in the means to which most citizens have access and stress that even punishments imposed on proven acts of corruption must be disclosed in order to eliminate the feeling of impunity associated with such acts.

The purpose of this article is to critically analyze the Strategy for the Development of the Information Society in the Russian Federation for 2017–2030. The theoretical basic of the analysis are the ...theory of information society and communicative theory of power. Having a rich explanatory potential and based on the large-scale empirical research, these theories comprehensively characterize the main elements of the existing socio-economic system in their relationship with political action. Thus they contribute to the development of practical recommendations for public authorities. Methodologically, this study is based on the structural and contextual analysis of the text, carried out with the help of MAXQDA (n=225) and allows to reveal the importance of key parameters of communication policy in the information society and their relations with each other. The results of the study show that the Strategy reflects all the key parameters of communication policy in the information society, like: the digitalization of individual, organizational and spatial development; the formation of legal and institutional foundations of the knowledge society at the international level; the introduction of artificial intelligence and big data based decision making in science, industry, business, and in governance; the transformations in administration and management and the formation of new competences in the information society’s stakeholders. However, the Strategy makes a very strong emphasis on security issues. This refers to the extensive elements of the development of communication policy of public authorities. Contemporary studies research shows, that the restrictive development is a critical element that prevents the formation of an effective communication policy of public authorities in the information society. The article substantiates the conclusion that it is expedient to change the connotation of the security concept, and to understand it in terms of sustainable development. Sustainable development should serve as a strategic reference point for the state communication policy in order to develop the information society in contemporary Russia.

The study aims to explore how Taiwan doctoral education in knowledge society meets the change of labor market, and how doctoral students deal with the socialization and professional training ...during their study, as well as influence their perspectives on career plan and job choices. That is, assuming that socialization and professional training have relationships and influences on doctoral students' career decision. The research questions are as follows: (1) Will the related factors of implementing socialization in doctoral education predict the choices of different career paths? and (2) What factors will affect doctoral students' perspectives on future job market (academia, public sector, private sector)? 2,000 questionnaires, snowball and purposely sampling, were sent to current registered doctoral student and 914 questionnaires were returned, excluding 214 invalid ones. The amount number of valid respondents is 700. SPSS Window 22.0 version was adopted as the statistical analyzing tool. The descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression were main methods for data analysis. There are 4 models, based on findings, for doctoral students' intentions of purchasing jobs according to the findings: academia orientated, being employed in the government or public research institute, working in the private sector, and self-confident with career and job market.
It is well known that knowledge is the source of modern economic growth, but the roles of library and information services on sustainable economic growth had not been well established. Thus, a case ...investigation was designed to identify the roles of library services in public libraries with the population, education, and income as a comparison on sustainable regional economic development. Such an investigation was based on organically combining correlation calculation, principal component calculation, and linear regression calculation. Results prove that some library services in public libraries have the highest contribution to the first principal component. It also demonstrates that the first principal component explains 85.0%, 95.0%, and 64.2% of the variation in the normalized gross regional products of Jiangsu Province, Hunan Province, and Gansu Province in China, respectively. Library services in public libraries, the population, education, and income appear to have a similarly important effect on sustainable regional development. Component score coefficients and linear relationships between the principal components and regional gross regional product can be used together to investigate the relationship between library services and sustainable economic growth. The proposed method provides new ideas for evaluating the roles of library services in sustainable economic growth.
Peacebuilding in society is impossible without generating and implementing an effective higher education development strategy. Education representing the ideological and value principles of humanism, ...democracy, tolerance, dialogue is a powerful tool in the consolidation of a conflict society, its gradual transformation into a society of understanding. In this regard, the role of the teacher in peacebuilding cannot be overestimated. Unfortunately, most politicians prefer to finance short-term projects where certain material benefit can be obtained in a minimum period of time. This is probably one of the major strategic mistakes that can cause extremely negative consequences.
In general terms, peace can be compared with a kind of humanitarian deposit that is long-term oriented. Its main dividend is the stable development of a society in which the confidence of individual citizens in each other acts as a metaphorical interest rate. That is, the greater the social trust within society, the greater the likelihood that war will not affect the territorial integrity of a particular state. The level of trust implies the support of state institutions of power from the side of ordinary citizens, as well as interpersonal trust in matters of religion, ethnic and valuebased differences. Universities should increase the level of trust within society, thus advocating as a means of conflict prevention acording to optimistic scenario or social rehabilitation acording to pesimictic scenario. However, public investment in its development should be steadily increased beside grant financial infusions.

The paper analyzes the implementation of the “Bologna reform” of higher education in the Republic of Serbia during the last fifteen years. Emphasizing neoliberalism as the ideological basis of the reform, the authors subjected the reform to a critical analysis of its normative goals and achieved achievements. The authors conclude that the restructuring of universities based on market principles and their transformation into for-profit organizations leads to the gradual collapse of the basic function of a modern university embodied in the search for truth and the production of knowledge. Contrary to the proclaimed “knowledge society”, the reform led to the lowering of scientific and educational standards and the neglect of immediately inapplicable knowledge, which completely changed the social evaluation of knowledge and science and resulted in the establishment of a “society of ignorance”.
