Background & Objective: One of the criteria for determining health is health-promoting behaviors. A high level of nutrition literacy is an important factor for differences in diet and nutritional ...behaviors which promotes health. Therefore, the present study investigates nutrition literacy status and its related factors in the older adults in Tehran. Materials & Methods: This is a descriptive-analytic (correlational) study. The study population included 270 older adults of Tehran city selected using random cluster sampling in Tehran in 2018. Data collection was carried out using a 28-item nutrition literacy scale (NLS) and demographic characteristics questionnaire. Then, data analysis was conducted using SPSS ver. 16 and descriptive statistics and Chi-square, Kruskal–Wallis, Spearman correlation coefficient and multiple regression tests. Results: In this study, the majority of the older adults were in the group aged 60–64 years (41.9%). According to NLS, 52.2% of the older adults had inadequate nutritional literacy, 37% had borderline nutritional literacy, and only 10.7% of them had adequate nutrition literacy (p<0.001). Also, there was a significant relationship between nutrition literacy and age, sex, level of education, and occupation. Conclusion: The majority of Iranian elderly had inadequate and borderline nutritional literacy, and only one-tenth of them had adequate nutrition literacy. Therefore, due to low nutritional literacy and its relationship with age, the elderly need to receive simple and understandable information to communicate and understand health information to make appropriate decisions, and it needs more attention from health workers, health workers and physicians.

All students were able to understand well the concept of balanced nutrition through the contents of my plate by an increase in the average value of knowledge from 5.4 to 8.0 (pre-test and post-test results) of 2.6 points. It is hoped that PKM activities can be carried out continuously with different topics, so that the formation of knowledge and positive attitudes of adolescents in fulfilling balanced nutrition and good food habits in overcoming adolescent nutritional problems.
•Existing literature underscores the significance of nutrition literacy as a crucial component of health literacy.•Few studies have comprehensively investigated the pathways and effects of various ...factors on nutritional literacy among older adults living in the community, specifically focusing on the perspective of health ecology.•Elderly individuals' nutritional literacy is influenced by various factors, including gender, education level, self-efficacy, healthy lifestyles, family and social networks, living environment, and policies.•It is imperative to enhance the nutritional literacy level among elderly individuals in the Hangzhou community, placing special emphasis on critical nutrition literacy and interactive nutrition literacy.
The aim of this study is to investigate the current status of nutritional literacy among community-dwelling elderly individuals in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, as well as the associated influencing factors and pathways. The Nutritional Literacy Assessment Scale for community-dwelling older adults and a questionnaire on factors influencing nutritional literacy were utilized. Descriptive statistics, stratified linear regression, and path analysis were employed to determine the influencing factors and pathways of nutritional literacy. The nutritional literacy rate among community-dwelling older adults in Hangzhou was moderate, with functional nutritional literacy being the highest and critical nutritional literacy being the lowest. Factors such as gender, education level, self-efficacy, healthy lifestyles, family and social networks, living environment, and policies were found to influence nutritional literacy. There is scope for improvement in the nutritional literacy level among older adults in the community in Hangzhou, particularly in terms of critical and interactive nutritional literacy.
Purpose
Chemotherapy can lead to malnutrition and post-menopausal recurrence among breast cancer (BC) patients, who need to achieve nutritional literacy (NL) to cope. The objective of this study was ...to explore the NL level in Chinese BC patients receiving chemotherapy and its predictors including both internal motivation and the external environment.
Methods
A total of 326 BC female patients from three hospitals were enrolled. Participants completed the Nutrition Literacy Measurement Scale for Chinese Adult (NLMS-CA), Chinese version from the Treatment Self-Regulation Questionnaire (TSRQ-C), and the Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS) to assess NL, treatment self-regulation, and social support. Stepwise multivariate linear regression was used to identify the main factors of NL.
Results
The total NL score was 151.31 ± 16.85, the “knowledge understanding” dimension had the lowest score. In the final regression model, patients with higher scores for “autonomous motivation” and “introjected regulation” on the TSRQ-C and “family support” and “other support” on the PSSS, higher educational levels and average monthly household incomes and endocrine therapy had higher NL levels (adjusted

Conclusions
The overall NL score among Chinese BC patients receiving chemotherapy was satisfactory, but the knowledge understanding score was low. Higher autonomous motivation, introjected regulation, family support and other support scores, higher educational and household income levels, and endocrine therapy were predictors of NL in female patients. Interventions should be designed according to the specific performances and predictors of NL in female patients.
Existing definitions of food literacy (FL) and nutrition literacy (NL) in particular refer to individual knowledge, motivation, competences, and awareness, which determine the relationship between ...individuals and food, the food system, and nutrition information. Several authors proposed specific conceptualization of the terms. Nevertheless, the description of analogies and differences between FL and NL is still lacking, as is an integrated framework which highlights the meaning of the concepts. This work aims to describe and discuss evidence provided by the literature in order to develop and propose a comprehensive conceptualization of FL and NL to the scientific community. We systematically reviewed six databases, considering the search terms of FL and NL. We collected the antecedents, components, and consequences of both FL and NL. We underlined and traced similarities of the concepts as well as prerogative features through the content analysis of definitions. We obtained 14 definitions of NL and 12 definitions of FL; 42 papers presented antecedents and 53 papers contained consequences. We observed that NL could be considered a specific form of FL. In addition, we noted that the consequences of NL are included in the subset of the consequences of FL and the conceptual limits of FL correspond to the outcome of healthful diet. We conclude that FL and NL build a multifaceted concept which implies both individual and public perspectives. We propose a conceptualization which could be useful to develop an executive framework aimed at providing healthy eating for the population.

Objective To investigate the nutritional literacy levels of the takeaway platform practitioners in Chengdu, the takeaway food nutrients, and the correlation between them. Methods We employed a ...multi-stage random sampling method to investigate the nutritional literacy levels of 100 takeaway platform restaurants in the main urban area of Chengdu and examined the nutritional components of hot set meals in each restaurant.A questionnaire survey was conducted on the nutritional literacy levels of chefs and food matching staff. The correlations of nutrient energy supply rationality with nutritional literacy level and set meal price were then analyzed. Results The total pass rate of nutrition knowledge of chefs/food matching staff was 61.0%.Only 2.0% of the set meals had reasonable total energy supply. The set meals with reasonable energy supply of available carbohydrate, protein, and fat accounted for 3.0%,62.0%,and 21.0%,and those with over energy supply accounted for 97.0%,26.0%,and 73.0%,respectively.The rest set meals
Inadequate health and nutritional literacy is a common problem among adults, associated with poor health outcomes. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between health literacy ...and nutritional literacy to sun exposure behaviour.
We conducted a cross-sectional study on 261 adults (18-65 years) in Iran. Data was collected on knowledge, motivation, health literacy, nutritional literacy, and sun exposure behaviour using an interview-assisted questionnaire. Using the information-motivation-behavioural skills model and structural equation modeling, we tested whether health and nutritional literacy were associated with the relationships between knowledge of vitamin D, attitudes toward sun exposure, and sun exposure behaviour. Different models using structural equation modeling were performed to analyze the data.
The finding showed that health literacy (β = 0.29, p < 0.001) and nutritional literacy (β = 0.14, p = 0.02) was directly associated with sunlight exposure. Indirect relationships also existed between knowledge and sunlight exposure through health literacy (β = 0.33, p < 0.001) and nutritional literacy (β = 0.22, p = 0.01). The model had good fit (x
/df = 1.422; RMSEA = 0.040; CFI = 0.851; NFI = 0.657). There was no significant relationship between health literacy and motivation (β = 0.11, p = 0.16), nutritional literacy and motivation (β = 0.06, p = 0.42) and motivation and sun exposure (β = 0.01, p = 0.91).
The findings showed that individuals with sufficient health literacy and nutritional literacy were more likely to have exposure to sunlight. Health and nutritional literacy should be considered when educating adults about vitamin D supplements and sunlight exposure.
