    近年、大学入試において選択科目間の得点調整の方法として、多くの大学で中央値補正法が採用されている。しかしながら、その性質について、テスト理論的な観点からの考察はほとんど行われていない。そこで、中央値補正法による得点調整が、選択科目間の平均と標準偏差の違いにより、どのような調整結果を生じさせるのか考察した。その結果、テスト得点が正規分布をする場合、中央値補正法では、概して、元の得点分布の平均が高く標準偏差が大きい科目が、能力上位者にとって有利となるように得点調整されることが分かった。本来、得点調整は、このような不公平を解消するために行われるべきものである。一方、中央値補正法には、得点調整後も、0 点は0 点、満点は満点のまま変わらず、中央値さえ求まれば簡単に計算可能であるという利点もある。導入する際には、利点と欠点を考えた上で検討する必要がある。
