This book covers the full story of the Ustasha, a fascist movement in Croatia, from its historic roots to its downfall. The authors address key questions: In what international context did Ustasha ...terrorism grow and develop? How did this movement rise to power, and then exterminate hundreds of thousands of innocents? Who was Ante Pavelić, its leader? Was he a shrewd politician, able to exploit for his independent project Mussolini’s imperial ambitions, Hitler’s pan-German aims, and the anti-Bolshevism of the Holy See and the Western bloc? Or was he, consciously or not, a pawn in other hands, in a complex international scenario where Croatia was only arena among many? And after the movement’s collapse, how were several of the most prominent Ustasha leaders able to evade capture by Tito’s victorious army? The facts and documents confront us with the ambivalence of terrorism. The book places the appearance of the Ustasha movement not only in the context of the interwar Kingdom of Yugoslavia but also in the wider perspective of the emergence of European fascism.
This collection provides an in-depth and up-to-date examination of the concept of Intangible Cultural Heritage and the issues surrounding its value to society. Critically engaging with the UNESCO ...2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage , the book also discusses local-level conceptualizations of living cultural traditions, practices and expressions, and reflects on the efforts that seek to safeguard them. Exploring a global range of case studies, the book considers the diverse perspectives currently involved with intangible cultural heritage and presents a rich picture of the geographic, socioeconomic and political contexts impacting research in this area. With contributions from established and emerging scholars, public servants, professionals, students and community members, this volume is also deeply enhanced by an interdisciplinary approach which draws on the theories and practices of heritage and museum studies, anthropology, folklore studies, ethnomusicology, and the study of cultural policy and related law. The Routledge Companion to Intangible Cultural Heritage undoubtedly broadens the international heritage discourse and is an invaluable learning tool for instructors, students and practitioners in the field.

Onkologija predstavlja važan segment sveukupnoga hrvatskoga zdravstvenog sustava. Sama onkologija
regionalne onkološke centre u sklopu kliničkih bolničkih centara u Zagrebu, Rijeci, Osijeku i Splitu. Nasreću, u
Hrvatskoj postoji tradicija, stara nekoliko desetljeća, razvoja onkoloških centara u općim i županijskim bolnicama.

Citizens’ Solidarity in Europe systematically dissects the manifestations of solidarity buried beneath the official policies and measures of public authority in Europe. In this exciting and ...innovative book, contributors offer comprehensive and original data and highlight the detrimental factors that tend to inhibit or annihilate solidarity, and those that are beneficial for the nurturing of solidarity.
Rad OECD-a u području zdravstva uključuje komparativnu analiza podataka, procjenu kvalitete zdravstvene skrbi u zemljama članicama, mjerenje ishoda zdravstvene skrbi te analizu učinkovitosti i pravednosti zdravstvenih sustava.
The responsibility of international organizations attracted special attention in theory and practice of international law after the International Law Commission began its work on the topic in 2002. ...The Commission ended its work in 2011 by adopting the Draft Articles on the Responsibility of International Organization. In this contribution we give an overall review of the Draft articles with special a emphasis on the cases of multiple attribution and responsibility of states for internationally wrongful acts of international organizations. Analyzing the critical remarks raised in regard to the Draft, we concluded that they cannot diminish the successful outcome of the work of the Commission, which is, a coherent and consistent system of rules devoted to the responsibility of international organizations.
Introduction: The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has a profound impact on our society and health system. This paper aims to report the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patients referred to tertiary health care,as well as primary health care practice settings.Patients and methods: The number of patient referrals to a University Hospital CenterOtorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery department and a primary care office requiring patientconsultations regarding otorhinolaryngologic conditions between March 20th, 2019 and March 19th, 2020,and March 20th, 2020 and March 20th, 2021, was retrospectively collected. Diagnoses that do not relate toconditions related to otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery, or those that were not found in bothhealth care settings, were excluded. Results: A significant reduction in the total number of consultations during the pandemic was observed,at both levels of health care. In primary care, 533 consultations were performed (50.5% of the total numberin 2019), and at the tertiary level, 1672 consultations were performed (56.4% consultations performed in2019). When analyzing the conditions treated in primary care, the most relevant reduction regarded skinmelanoma, influenza, acute bronchitis and bronchiolitis, acute upper respiratory infections, bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, and other chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. When analyzing the conditionstreated at the ENT department, the most relevant reduction regarded pneumonia, bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, other chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, hearing impairment, skin melanoma, and otherrespiratory tract diseases. Conclusions: A reduced number of consultations and hospitalizations compared to pre-pandemic timemay result in an increased number of patients with new diagnoses, including cancer detected in later stagesof the disease, which will lead to later treatment and worse disease outcome, and also higher burden oftreatment costs.
