Arheologi so našli nekaj arhitekturnih sledov, košček ...rimske keramike in sledove starih njivskih površin. Ponoči so se tega kraja ob srenjski meji ljudje izogibali, češ ‘da tam rado straši’. Po pripovedi naj bi tu stala kovačija, v kateri naj bi kovač nudil popotnikom prenočišče. Če popotnik ni ustrezal dolžini postelje, ga je kovač »skrajšal« tako, da mu je odsekal ude in jih zakopal za kovačijo. Motiv spominja na grški mit o Prokrustovi postelji, ki je ravno tako popotnike skrajševal in nategoval za dolžino postelje.” (Mitski, 2020, 14)Skulptura: Kamnita postelja je po višini in širini primerljiva z običajno posteljo, je pa od nje krajša. Odtis človeškega telesa, ki ga zaznamo na mehki draperiji, je brez glave in stopal, kar opazovalcu vzbuja neprijeten občutek. Postelja je nekaj mehkega, udobnega, toplega…če je premajhna in kamnita, nam verjetno vzbudi ravno nasprotne občutke. V tem primeru takšne, ki so ravno v skladu z izročilom.Oblikovalka kamnitih skulptur za projekt je Špela Šedivy, Kovačevo posteljo pa so izvedli Urban Mužina, Sibila Leskovec in Darja Osojnik.Skulptura se nahaja na lokaciji Njivice, ob cesti za Artviže.- All metadata published by Europeana are available free of restriction under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication.
