We propose a method to artificially generate training data to correct preposition errors in Indonesian sentences written by second language learners. Basically, we injected large size of native ...sentences with preposition errors learned from learners’ sentences. Our method copies a preposition error from a learner sentence to a native sentence by firstly calculating a syntactic similarity score between the native sentence and the learners’ sentence. Then, it chooses the preposition error from the learner sentence that has the highest syntactic similarity score to the native sentence, to replace the original preposition in the native sentence.
Experimental results show that the preposition error correction model trained on the artificial data resulted from our method outperforms the correction model trained on the similar size of native data.
This study examined the effects of similarity, both actual (race and gender) and perceived, and amount of contact between mentor and protégé on the quality of mentor relationships. Mentor ...relationship quality was measured by liking, satisfaction, intended retention, and degree of psychosocial and instrumental functions experienced by the protégé. The participants were 104 summer intern protégés and their volunteer staff mentors employed at a large West coast media organization. Protégés were randomly assigned to one of two types of mentor pairings—same and different race mentors. Results indicate that liking, satisfaction, and contact with mentor were higher when protégés’ perceived themselves to be more similar to their mentors. Actual race pairing was related to protégés’ perceptions of the amount of career support and to mentors’ liking of protégés.
Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-A. baumannii complex (ACB complex) is a nosocomial pathogen. Due to its high ability to develop antibiotic resistance, it has become a problematic challenge in the modern ...healthcare system. The molecular and genetic mechanisms of gaining multidrug resistance in ACB complex are well known. This study focuses on providing an overview of the antibiotic resistance profiles, genetic similarities and resistotypes, and general characteristics of carbapenem-resistant ACB complex (CRACB) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). In light of the data collected in this study, together with the already known information concerning antibiotic resistance of ACB complex, we intend to further elucidate the antibiotic therapy for CRACB strain resistotypes in BiH.
Religious pluralism has characterized societies since time immemorial and has been one of the sources of conflict in many societies. This article compares how religious pluralism was handled in ...intertestamental Palestine and the manner it is managed in post-apartheid South Africa. The study used academic literature which applied the Apocrypha to describe the religious context of Palestine between 336 BC and 63 BC. The themes that emerged from this analysis were then used to source academic literature that describes the religious context of South Africa from 1994 to 2021. This process led to the synthesis of the similarities and differences of the two contexts. The findings latently reveal the contribution of the Apocrypha to theological reflection while simultaneously showing that the Roman Empire’s violent attempts to undermine religious pluralism in intertestamental Palestine bred counterviolence. The paper further reveals that post-apartheid South Africa’s use of legal instruments to promote religious pluralism seems to contribute to the optimization of religious freedom and peaceful co-existence. These findings are likely to contribute to the discourse of religious pluralism, interfaith dialogue, and intercultural communications. Keywords: Hellenism, Apocrypha, Religious Pluralism, Democracy
What characterizes Islam is its openness to other religions and the “spirit of dialogue”, which is one of the essential ideas of the Holy Qur’an. For the dialogue to take place, the Other is ...required, the one who will try to understand. The journal Islamska misao (Islamic Thought) was partly dedicated to the said idea, which is substantiated by the texts that we aim to analyze in this paper. All of this testifies to a slow opening that characterized the period in which the journal was published, and both political emancipation, as well as the need to understand others to whom Muslims are directly addressed in their totality. Special emphasis is placed on the Christian ritualistic aspect, where we show numerous conceptual similarities in many religions, as well as peculiarities, all of which contribute to a more diverse religious spectrum which is in Islam perceived as a reflection of the divine plan or will. This is what Muslim authors had in mind when choosing topics in the journal.

Problem: The goal of a software product line is to aid quick and quality delivery of software products, sharing common features. Effectively achieving the above-mentioned goals requires reuse ...analysis of the product line features. Existing requirements reuse analysis approaches are not focused on recommending product line features, that can be reused to realize new customer requirements. Hypothesis: Given that the customer requirements are linked to product line features' description satisfying them: then the customer requirements can be clustered based on patterns and similarities, preserving the historic reuse information. New customer requirements can be evaluated against existing customer requirements and reuse of product line features can be recommended. Contributions: We treated the problem of feature reuse analysis as a text classification problem at the requirements-level. We use Natural Language Processing and clustering to recommend reuse of features based on similarities and historic reuse information. The recommendations can be used to realize new customer requirements.
There has been a long-standing debate in the literature as to why and how leadership is similar to, or different from, management. Although several scholars have contributed to the debate, there ...seems to be an absence of pragmatic evidence. Hardly any study that attempts to differentiate leadership from management provides empirical findings. The purpose of the current paper is to begin to cover this research gap. Interviews were conducted with 49 leaders and senior executives in the construction industry of Singapore. The interviewees were asked how they perceived the differences and similarities between leadership and management. Thematic network analysis was used to analyze the interview data. Findings show that there are clear differences between leadership and management on the basis of how leaders and managers define and conceptualize these terms. Leadership and management are different phenomena and processes in which leaders and managers perform varied functions and play different roles in organizations. The study shows that leaders and managers, at least in the construction industry, apply a mix of both leadership and management to perform their daily jobs and fulfill their organizational responsibilities. The findings also echo the many striking overlaps between the roles of leadership and management.
