PurposeThis study examines scholarly communications in the International Journal of Managing Projects in Business (IJMPB) and identifies the journal's leading trends from 2008 to ...2019.Design/methodology/approachThis study analyzed a sample of 522 articles published in the IJMPB since its inception in 2008 until 2019. A set of bibliometric measures was used in the study to identify publication trends, citation structures, leading authors, institutions and countries. Additionally, analysis of research methodologies, industrial sectors and research themes of the articles was carried out through a rigorous content analysis. To examine the changes in journal expansion over time, the duration of publications (from 2008 to 2019) was divided into three subperiods.FindingsThe study findings show that 793 authors from 370 institutions and 58 countries contributed to the journal during this period. In terms of contributions, Australia and the Scandinavian countries are at the top, while Asian and African countries occupy a lower position. Moreover, among authors, Derek H.T. Walker was found to be the most prolific, with the highest weighting score and number of articles. Similarly, RMIT University of Australia emerged as the most productive institution. The articles were predominantly case studies followed by mixed methods (i.e. both surveys and interviews are used for data collection). Most of the articles in the sample were related to project management in general. However, several articles reported on construction, information technology (IT) and manufacturing projects.Practical implicationsThis study is useful for the researcher community to understand the journal's scientific productivity. Further, it will also help identify dominant topics in the field of project management.Originality/valueThis is the first comprehensive review article presenting a general overview of the journal's leading trends and researchers since its inception in 2008.
Purpose
This study aims to sketch a bibliometric portrait of the International Journal of Innovation Science (IJIS) and attempts to evaluate its publication patterns from 2011 to 2020 by unfolding ...the key aspects of its publication trends for the audience of the journal and scholars of bibliometric studies as well.
Design/methodology/approach
This study analyzes papers published in the IJIS from 2011 to 2020 by using the required bibliometric measures to analyze the key aspects of the publishing trends of IJIS.
Findings
This study finds that a total of 487 authors published 271 articles in IJIS during 2011–2020. The USA leads the table with 89 papers followed by India (29 papers) and China (26 papers). The degree of collaboration in IJIS ranged from 0.36 to 0.94. Moreover, this study finds that the keyword “design/methodology/approach” is the central theme of research in IJIS around which all other keywords revolve.
Research limitations/implications
This study focuses on the publication patterns of the IJIS over a period of ten years. Patterns of research output in 271 publications are comprehended and analyzed. For making a ten-year bibliometric study, the papers published before 2011 were excluded from the purview of research.
Practical implications
Readers of the IJIS, teachers and research scholars interested in bibliometric studies can benefit from insights into the scholarly papers published in IJIS from 2011 to 2020.
Originality/value
This study would provide the readers of IJIS to ascertain significant contributions, top cited papers, the most prolific authors, geographical distribution of papers, keyword co-occurrence and bibliographic coupling.
A single journal study of the journal Clinical Simulation in Nursing was performed after its tenth anniversary. Single journal studies aim to analyze journal bibliometric indicators to assess journal ...characteristics and history, as well as to support possible authors in deciding if the journal might be appropriate to publish their papers.
The corpus was harvested from the Scopus bibliographical database (Elsevier, Amsterdam, The Netherlands), using the search string Clinical Simulation in Nursing in the Source title field for the period 2006 till 2016 (inclusive). The bibliometric analysis was performed with Scopus built-in services and MS Excel 2007 (Microsoft, Rochester, NY). The thematic, chronological, cooperation, and hot topic analysis was performed on scientific landscapes induced by VOSviewer software version 1.6.5 (Leiden University, Leiden, The Netherlands). Sleeping Beauties were identified by our own software developed at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor, Maribor, Slovenia.
The volume of the literature production is increasing as are the yearly average number of pages, authors, references, interorganizational cooperation, and Impact Factor. The most productive country is the United States and also all top ten productive organizations are located there. The thematic analysis revealed six themes namely simulated clinical experience in health care, education, interprofessional simulation in teams, research in human patient simulation, simulation centers, and debriefing. Additionally, one Sleeping Beauty was identified. The hot topics seem to be experiential learning, self-efficacy, interprofessional education, and debriefing.
The research literature production is increasing, together with publication quality indicators, like yearly average number of pages, authors, and organizations. The thematic analysis showed that the Journal themes conform to the Aims and Scope of the Journal; however; some research gaps exist. Chronologically, the publication's content went from practice, through theory development to the use of the theory in simulation design.

This paper covers a total of 82 bibliometric studies on single journals (62 studies cover unique titles) published between 1998 and 2008 grouped into the following fields; Arts, Humanities and Social ...Sciences (12 items); Medical and Health Sciences (19 items); Sciences and Technology (30 items) and Library and Information Sciences (21 items). Under each field the studies are described in accordance to their geographical location in the following order, United Kingdom, United States and Americana, Europe, Asia (India, Africa and Malaysia). For each study, elements described are (a) the journal’s publication characteristics and indexation information; (b) the objectives; (c) the sampling and bibliometric measures used; and (d) the results observed. A list of journal titles studied is appended. The results show that (a)bibliometric studies cover journals in various fields; (b) there are several revisits of some journals which are considered important; (c) Asian and African contributions is high (41.4% of total studies; 43.5% covering unique titles), United States (30.4% of total; 31.0% on unique titles), Europe (18.2% of total and 14.5% on unique titles) and the United Kingdom (10% of total and 11% on unique titles); (d) a high number of bibliometrists are Indians and as such coverage of Indian journals is high (28% of total studies; 30.6% of unique titles); and (e) the quality of the journals and their importance either nationally or internationally are inferred from their indexation status.

A single journal study of the medical journal Acta Dermatovenerologica Alpina, Pannonica et Adriatica (ADAPA) from January 1994 to July 2019 was performed. The corpus was harvested from the bibliographical database Scopus (Elsevier, Netherlands) for the period between 1994 and 2019 (inclusive), and the bibliometric analysis was performed using Scopus built-in services and MS Excel (Microsoft, USA). The historical, cooperation, and hot topic analysis was performed on scientific landscapes induced by VOSviewer software (Leiden University, Netherlands).
From 1994 to 2019, a total of 759 publications were published in ADAPA. The trend in the number of publications has varied; it increased somewhat until 2009, then decreased until 2015, when the number of articles began to rise again, reaching a peak in 2018 (46 articles annually). A small decline in source normalized impact per paper (SNIP) was observed from 1.2 in 2010 to 0.46 in 2018. Slovenia ranked first (n = 210) in the number of publications among 55 countries. Authors from 44 out of 55 countries published their articles through co-authorships.
Whereas it was initially considered a primarily regional journal, ADAPA's influence has gradually broadened and the journal has become truly international. The number of articles published increased significantly during the last few years, with ADAPA strongly supporting international collaboration, resulting in a high proportion of international co-authorships.
The paper brings out the results of a bibliometric analysis of the journal titled "Asia-Pacific Journal of Management Research and Innovation" published by Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, New ...Delhi for the period from 2005 to 2015. The data are downloaded from the journal's website. This study aims at analysing the research output performance of management science. The analysis cover mainly the year-wise distribution of contributions in their different volumes, authorship pattern, degree of collaboration, length of papers, citation pattern, average citation per contribution per volume, subject wise distribution of papers. All the studies point towards the merits and weakness of the journal which will be helpful for its further development. The Journal published 11 volumes, 37 issues and 533 research articles during the period 2005- 2015. The result shows that out of 533 articles joint authors contributed 296 (55%) articles while the rest 237 (45%) articles are contributed by single author. The study reveals the domination of collaborative research and the degree of collaboration (DC) in Asia-Pacific Journal of Management Research and Innovation is found to be 0.55. The numbers of references used by the authors are high with majority of them citing 21 to 40 references and on an average, Asia-Pacific Journal of Management Research and Innovation authors have cited over 33 references per article.
This article presents the result of various bibliometric patterns of articles published by Journal of Muamalat and Islamic Finance Research (JMIFR). This journal is devoted to the field of Islamic ...banking and finance studies and their application in modern times. Data from each volume of JMIFR were collected and statistically analyzed using the Statistical Product & Service Solution software. This study looked at variables which include authorship patterns, length of articles, number of articles published, author productivity, contributing institutions and subject area patterns. Findings showed that dual authorship is prevalent and accounted for about 56.8% of the articles published and the total number of article published for the period of 2004-2011 was 91 articles where 80% of the articles were published in English language. As for the reference used, 43.9% were journals, and 16% were books cited. The study demonstrated that despite its eight years of existence and multidisciplinary approach, contributors and citations of this journal is not yet international.
This study presents the result of various bibliometric patterns of articles published by the Jurnal Syariah for the period of 1993-2007. This Malaysian academic journal is devoted to the field of ...classical Islamic Law and its applications in modern times today. Data from each selected issue of the Jurnal Syariah were collected and statistically analysed using the Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS). The study looked at variables which include authorship patterns, length of articles, number of articles published, author productivity, contributing institutions and subject area patterns. Among the significant findings are that single authorship is prevalent and accounted for about 90% of the articles published and the total number of articles published fo th period of 1993-2007 was 285 articles. It was found that 89% of the articles were published in the Malay language. As for the references used, 98% were books, and 39% were journals cited This study has demonstrated that despite its fifteen years of existenc and multidisciplinar approach, contributors and citations of this journal has not yet international. Henceforth, this article provides significant suggestions and strategies for the future of the Jurnal Syariah.
