This study aims to assess mediation of volunteered participation and moderation of competition participation on relationship among perception of school sport club and leisure-time physical activity (LTPA). A questionnaire was administered to 1,448 middle school students (731 boys, 717 girls) who participating in a school-based sports club. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and correlation analysis according to the purpose of the study, and the mediating effect and the modulating effect were verified using the PROCESS v3.1 of Hayes (2013, 2017). The results showed that the perception of school sports club had a direct effect on LTPA transference, and voluntary participation showed significant mediation effect between perception of school sports club and LTPA transference. The Perception of school sports club only effect on LTPA transference who have experience in sports club competitions, and it was confirmed that there was significant moderation effect of experience in sports club competitions. This finding suggests that youth participation in school sports clubs contributes to the participating of LTPA, suggesting that voluntary participation of school sports clubs as well as experience in school sports club’s competition have an important role.
•The first aim was to identify determinants of volunteering.•The second aim was to identify drivers of and time committed to the volunteering.•Drivers of volunteering were male gender and number of ...engagements.•Key determinants for time were club membership and number of voluntary engagements.
Using a heterodox economic approach, the purpose of this paper is twofold: to analyse the determinants of (1) volunteering in organised sports, and (2) time committed to that volunteering. By means of regression analysis of secondary data from a nation-wide volunteer survey with two waves (2004: n=15,000; 2009: n=20,005), it was established that human capital, female gender and the motive of shaping society had a negative influence on the decision to volunteer while the number of engagements in other volunteering had a positive effect. Time committed to volunteering was determined by male gender, having children, meeting people, club membership, shaping society and number of voluntary engagements. The volunteer workforce is thus very heterogeneous; however, sport club managers should recruit volunteers in particular amongst existing members.
School-based extracurricular sports activity (SBECSA) has widely spread in Japan as a means for youth to play sports or exercise. Especially in junior high school and high school, SBECSA is actively ...conducted with a high participation rate of students. There have also been reports that elementary schools in some Japanese municipalities also have SBECSA. However, there has been little information about which municipalities conducted SBECSA in elementary schools. Therefore, the present study aimed to clarify the existence of SBECSA in elementary schools in each municipality, and to create a municipal map of implementation status. A complete enumeration questionnaire survey was conducted with all 1741 municipalities’ educational boards. Question items were in regard to the existence of elementary schools’ SBECSA in their municipalities. Answerers were requested to choose one response from the items; “almost all elementary schools have SBECSA”, “some elementary schools have SBECSA”, “there were SBECSA (about 10 years ago), but now there is no SBECSA”, “there weren’ t any SBECSA before 10 years ago”, “we don’ t know”, and “we don’ t answer” . To increase the response rate, a second survey was conducted with Sports Associations or similar sports related organizations in each municipality. Additionally, a third survey was conducted with educational boards again at the same time as the feedback of results was given. As results, 88.0% of all municipalities’ implementation status was identified (response rate = 92.5%). And 23.0% of all municipalities were shown to have SBECSA in elementary schools, although 64.9% did not have it. More than half of the municipalities in Aomori prefecture, Chiba prefecture, Aichi prefecture, and Kumamoto prefecture have SBECSA in elementary school. Based on the results of the present study, it is suggested that further development of the youth sport environment should be discussed. In addition, means to decrease the burdens on teachers who coach and manage SBECSA must be considered.

Second, multicultural students participating in school sport club activity came to be more confident about school adaptation, became more capable of setting up their own goals. Third, multicultural students who succeeded in school adaptation with their confidence gained from school sport club participation showed changes like starting to eat Korean food or go to a public bath with friends which they had refused and led their school life more actively.
The history of the beginnings of ice hockey in Slovenia is connected to and intertwined with the activities of the Ilirija Sports Club, which expanded the selection of sports activities in Ljubljana ...with the construction of a new ice skating rink and the introduction of ice skating and figure skating. The Ilirija ice skating rink was open to the public for recreational skating. Recreational ice skating ensured a certain income, but was disturbed by the so-called 'wild skaters' that the older visitors kept complaining about. In the attempts to find a solution to the problem, bring peace and order to the ice skating rink, and provide ice skating enjoyment to recreational skaters, a decision was reached to invite the 'wild skaters' into the club and offer regular participation in a new sport: ice hockey, at the time relatively unknown in Ljubljana. A few years after modest beginnings in the winter of 1928/1929, the 'inaugural match' in Ljubljana took place on 21 February 1932 against the Austrian Klagenfurt Athletic Club (KAC) from Klagenfurt. During its further activities until 1941, Ilirija became the central Yugoslav club, the first state champion, as well as the core of the Yugoslav ice hockey team.
