Over the past 30 years, scholars have been calling for modern management theory and research to consider how strategic management tools could be applied to enhance corporate sustainability. While ...strategic management for sustainability has emerged as a multidisciplinary field, the existing knowledge base has yet to be systematic reviewed. This paper responded to the literature gap by conducting a bibliometric review of strategic management for sustainability. The paper aimed to document the landscape and composition of this literature through the analysis of 988 relevant Scopus-indexed documents. Data analyses found that the strategic management for sustainability knowledge base remained an emergent field with increasing interests from diverse groups of international scholars in various fields, particularly in environmental science, engineering, and strategic business management. Over the past three decades, the literatures have been continuously grown from a few publications in the early 1990s to almost 1000 documents to date. The review found that the most influential journals and authors of this knowledge base were international in scope but predominately from Western developed countries. Five Schools of Thought from author co-citation analysis revealed the intellectual clustering composition of the knowledge base on strategic management for sustainability: corporate sustainability strategy, sustainable waste management, strategic sustainability systems, strategic sustainability management and entrepreneurship, and sustainability assessment strategy. Key topics addressed in this research include the distribution of documents across the most highly cited journals, reflecting the breadth, quality and influential scholars in the strategic management for sustainability knowledge domain, naming of the influential scholars in the field and identification of contemporary foci and research front in the existing literature through the keyword co-occurrence analysis and co-word map. The strategic management for sustainability field has evolved from the key topics related to the green movement at the policy-driven macro level (i.e., ecological or environmental protection/impact, water/waste management and natural resource conservation) to the practicality in organizations with the topics related to social strategic responsibility and business management issues (i.e., corporate strategy, project management, supply chain management, information management, adaptive management, corporate sustainability). In addition to a retrospective, insightful prospective interpretation, practical implication, limitations and future research direction are discussed.
This study aimed to review the scientific literature on strategic management published in the Google Scholar database between 2021 and 2023 and available for access. The conceptual bibliographic ...method was used in its four stages: 1) formulation of the problem and guiding questions, with their respective response patterns; 2) collection of data on scientific bases, with the help of the mass of data; 3) organization of data into figurative schematic format, so that the answers sought can be visible and 4) generation of answers, to communicate discoveries to scientific communities. The results showed a) seven approaches (process, art, knowledge, set, management, actions, and system), b) 45 attributes organized into seven semantic groupings (Environment, organization (social group), planning, organization, direction, implementation, and control ) and c) that the logic of strategic management is focused on knowledge of the environment (internal and external) so that the management process (planning, organization, direction, and control) can be effective. The conclusion shows that the more the organization relates to the external environment and meeting needs, the greater the probability that its goals will be achieved.

Declining sales have forced P&G to make strategic changes. In 2019, a piece of news about Procter & Gamble’s delisting from Euronext Paris swept the Internet. In order to explore how large enterprises make the right strategic choice in the face of crisis and analyze the outcomings, this paper will start with the delisting case of Procter & Gamble, analyze its strategic environment, strategic adjustments and financial results in recent years, and finally form conclusions and some suggestions.
Este trabalho tem como objetivo propor uma metodologia de ensino da gestão estratégica à luz da teoria da complexidade. Para desenvolver este estudo, foi realizada uma pesquisa de caráter ...intervencionista e delineamento qualitativo, conduzida por meio de um relato de experiência, no Campus Natal (Zona Norte) do Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte. Os dados foram coletados por meio da triangulação entre a pesquisa bibliográfica, a análise documental e a utilização do diário de pesquisa. A análise dos dados foi guiada pela transcrição das realidades a partir do campo, que foi realizada tomando por base a teoria que norteou o relato de experiência. Como principais resultados identificou-se a construção coletiva de uma metodologia vivencial para o ensino da gestão estratégica a partir do processo de simulação estratégica desenvolvido com os sujeitos da pesquisa, observando os elementos complexos, das interações entre os processos organizacionais e as pessoas em busca por objetivos. De forma conclusiva o estudo possibilitou aos participantes vivenciar o processo de formação do conhecimento em estratégia observando a complexidade presente nas relações entre a formação da teoria e sua vivencia real no mundo organizacional.
This paper corroborates various theoretical principles of strategic management to the actual approach used by PatanjaliAyurvedLtd. (PAL). We would like to examine reasons success of ...PatanjaliAyurvedLtd. (PAL). We propose a model called 5 C - Model (credence, culture,consistency, contentment and cost) to understand the PatanjaliAyurved's success. There is little or no innovation in this market over last few decades which is why companies like Colgate have dominated the oral healthcare segment, HUL and P&G have dominated the homecare segment, Nestle has dominated the instant food segment for decades put together. These companies have had a long learning curve and have learnt it the hard way whether it is distribution or understanding diversity in Indian landscape. We aim to use a structured questionnaire method for our study. This is all set to change with advent of PatanjaliAyurvedLtd. (PAL). After a survey focused group of 100 respondents it was observed that credence was the utmost factor which influenced these buyers followed by the other five parameters of the proposed 5 C - Model.
Este estudo empreende uma investigação da Gestão Estratégica de TI a partir da verificação da realidade da área de Tecnologia da Informação (TI) nos Institutos Federais (IF), trata aspectos que ...envolvem planejamento, estratégias e alta gestão, partindo do pressuposto da existência de um gap entre o universo da Governança Institucional de TI e de Gestão de TI. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como uma abordagem descritiva de cunho qualitativo, por meio de pesquisas bibliográficas, documentais e embasou-se em resultados de estudos já publicados acerca do tema. Teve como objetivo o levantamento e mapeamento de informações, e como o resultado final, a proposição dos modelos Istar SD e SR como norteadores para a reestruturação da TI e inclusão dessa área como estratégica e de alto nível nos IF. Umas das principais constatações que esta investigação obteve está relacionada à necessidade de inclusão de representantes da área de TI nas decisões estratégicas institucionais visando elevar o grau de Governança de TI.
Strategic development of freight road transport in the Russian Federation requires formation of reliance on fundamental economic theory, the absence of which, as of today, according to a number of ...well-known economists, is the main cause of emerging difficulties in formation and implementation of strategic documents in Russia. Such documents would include Transport strategy of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030, and therefore, of special importance is the task of clarifying the key principles for strategic management of the development of the road transport system. The article reviews and substantiates the principles of: “consistency”, “digitalization”, “openness”, “established development trajectory”, “variety of development paths”, “hierarchy of management”, “increasing complexity of motivation”, “awareness” and “feedback”.
Digital technologies and their tools are fundamentally changing not only the technological order, but also the economic system. Recently, researchers and the business community attention has been ...focused on digital companies born in the era of the modern Internet and offering value propositions based on digital technologies and their cross-border properties. But how multifaceted and heterogeneous the nature of the technologies is, so complex and multidimensional is the process of their implementation, which transforms not only the company’s IT environment, but also the whole strategic management system. In the process of this transformation, companies face a range of challenges that can lead to devastating consequences. Understanding the sources and nature of these challenges allows to find ways to overcome them and transform them into competitive advantages. The structure of the article includes two blocks. The first block summarizes evolutionary ideas about transformation through its main constructs, parameters, and stages. The second block shows the study and systematization of the challenges that lead the waves of digital transformation in the context of their impact on the parameters of the strategic management system.
