Bell ringing and bell chiming are presenting a valuable part of Slovenian cultural heritage, which is reflected in an extremely rich vocabulary that is part of our everyday reality and communication. ...The dictionary brings about 1035 expressions from the fields of amateur and professional engagement with bell ringing and bell chiming. It unveils the bells as a versatile musical instrument of cultural, ethnomusicological, artistic and also, in the case of older bells, of historical value. In addition to the modern terms, it contains some past terms, as well as many dialectal words, including the ones from vocabulary of Slovenians living in the neighboring countries. The monolingual design of the explanatory terminological dictionary is exceeded by the addition of English equivalents and the English-Slovene dictionary. This enables that also international scholars and bell experts gets acquainted with the special features of Slovenian bell ringing and bell chiming. The dictionary is intended for professionals from different fields of science, as well as for bell ringing experts, bell chimers, as well as everyone attracted by the sounds of our soundscapes. The authors of the dictionary would like to encourage new research of this kind, and especially would like that campanology gets appropriate position in the field of profession and science in Slovenia and abroad.
The Dictionary of Legal Terminology' shows the conceptual system of modern Slovenian law. In more than 10,000 dictionary entries, we present the terminology of contemporary Slovenian legal science, ...legal practice and legislation after 1991. The dictionary is primarily intended for legal experts, who practice various professions (including judges, lawyers, notaries, prosecutors as well as heads of HR and legal departments in companies). It is also intended for students of law and related sciences, in order to familiarize them with the conceptual system of Slovenian law in a professionally relevant manner. In order to use the dictionary efficiently at least a basic knowledge of law is required. This does not mean that journalists, translators, proof-readers and others who encounter legal terminology cannot use it. However, it should be borne in mind that definitions contained in a terminological dictionary are very concise and sufficiently informative only for an expert who is familiar with the conceptual system of a specific field of study, while other users are provided with a suitable starting point so they can find additional information if necessary.
Monography ('Antonymy in Standard Slovenian on the Example of Terminological Dictionaries') deals with antonymy in Slovenian dictionaries, especially in terminological, with linguistic theories about ...antonyms, lexicographical theories about the presentation of antomyms in general language and terminological dictionaries, with types of antonymes in dictionaries of diferent sciences, most frequent mistakes. The presentation of antonyms in Slovenian dictionaries has a long tradition, starting already in the so-called non-standard dictionaries pertaining to the language works of Slovenian Protestants and continuing with Cigale’s Znanstvena terminologija s posebnim ozirom na srednja učilišča (Scientific Terminology with Special Focus on Secondary Schools, 1880), where antonyms were marked for the first time in the form of notes opp. (opponitur).
Čebelarski terminološki slovar je razlagalni, prevajalni, informativno-normativni slovar, ki vsebuje 3087 strokovno pojasnjenih čebelarskih izrazov. Pisan je po sodobnih slovaropisnih načelih. K ...slovaropisnim razlagam so dodani angleški in nemški ustrezniki in za nekatera področja tudi latinski, ki so zbrani v obrnjenem angleško-, nemško- in latinsko-slovenskem delu. Dodan je leksikon znanih slovenskih in tujih čebelarskih strokovnjakov. Nekatere slovarske sestavke ponazarjajo ilustracije in fotografije. Leta 2008 objavljena spletna izdaja (ISBN 978-961-254-126-2) sledi knjižni. Podpira jo zmogljiv iskalnik Neva.
