Hana Gregorová’s (1885 – 1958) early work was mostly concerned with themes pertaining to women’s emancipation. Later, the author widened her scope and also dealt with the questions of social justice. ...Feminist instrumentalisation as outlined in her debut collection of short prose Ženy (Women 1912) was combined with projecting a new, better world for all the impoverished ones. Social and pedagogical (didactic) function remained a stable characteristic of her writing. As to her themes, Gregorová was mainly concerned with the depiction of the suffering women and her empathising authorial narrator was a representative figure voicing progressive ideas. Works that the author published before 1918 (but also those from the first half of the 1920s) were later significantly revised. Gregorová updated her early work in accordance with the way her opinions evolved (especially with regards to her affinity towards socialist and communist ideas) and also as a reaction to the changes in social circumstances (the end of Second World War). Analysis of the revisions the author made in the second publication of the collection Ženy (1946) had a direct impact on the poetics of the texts and in turn also influenced the literary-historical reception of the collection – a fact that is most visible in cases in which the scholars only worked with the second edition.
Quite often (especially with the Old Testament), biblical anthroponyms may be described as dynamic names, since they contribute to the construction of a text’s content, and are active elements in the ...process of transmitting that meaning towards a different cultural space or cultural time. Consequently, the way in which translators of the Bible deal with them, intentionally or accidentally, affects a target-reader’s chances to grasp the originally intended message of the text. The present paper follows the avatars of Job’s daughter’s names (cf. Job 42: 14) from Hebrew, to Greek and Latin, and, late on, to vernaculars such as Romanian, and suggests that ”“ while equally explainable contextually and/or pragmatically ”“ different translating options achieve different levels of relevance, or representativeness, relative to the original text, and, in fact, to the multileveled and intricate translative intentions.
This research aim to describe a textological study of the issue of how the Hikayat Si Miskin manuscript text from the Harvad University - Houghton Library/ ms_Indo_18-METS collection was translated ...into handwritten Arabic-Malay script, the appearance of which is much different from the standard form of the letters of this script. This is the most important part in the textological study of the subfield of philology before the editing of texts from the old Malay Arabic-Malay script into Latin script is presented. His identity as the author is not included at the front of his work, but at the end of the manuscript called the colophon. The presentation of a text that has been cleaned of all writing errors paves the way for further study of the content of the text from various aspects related to the existence of the form and content of the text being studied, such as a study of the structural content of the text, a study of linguistic aspects, a study of social values. and culture, it is even possible to examine historical elements, because manuscripts are historical documents that describe the life systems and patterns of old society. The method used to discuss text issues and content that can be studied in various related scientific disciplines is the standard text criticism method, namely a philological method that attempts to re-present classical texts by criticizing and correcting corrupt texts. In accordance with the focus of the discussion which focuses on writing and visual text writing, the research results found writing irregularities and errors in writing lacunae, substitutions, additions, transpositions, dittography, and haplography. The most common writing errors are substitution errors.
The article raises the fundamental problems of textual criticism of N. V. Gogol’s story “Taras Bulba.” The author of the article provides an analytical review of the translation and publishing ...practice of representatives of Ukrainian nationalism of the 19th–20th centuries, the features of the publications of Gogol’s story with textological “innovations” by P. A. Kulish, M. O. Lobodovsky, M. Sadovsky (N. K. Tobilevich), I. A. Malkovich. The distinctive feature of the listed cases is the ideological character of the violation of the fundamental scientific principle of choosing the final wording of the text. The preference for the publication of the early edition of Taras Bulba over the later one leads to the fact that Taras Bulba’s famous speech about partnership, the image of the path of the traitor Andriy to enemies, the words of the Cossacks before death about devotion to faith and homeland, Gogol’s prophecy about Russian tsar and the narrator’s exclamation about the irresistible Russian power became “an appendix” without author’s context. The paper clearly shows the need for a comprehensive, complex solution of textual problems and the inadmissibility of ignoring the last writer’s will.

The paper aims to establish the idea of Bosnian textology on the basis of the comparative-textological analysis of different editions of Mak Dizdar's Stone Sleeper and Old Bosnian Texts. Different ...fates and receptions of the two books have been analyzed from the perspective of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian culture and literature in the 20th century, with an emphasis on the crossroads as one of its key topographical figures. The origin of this feature was ascribed to Midhat Begic, even though Mak Dizdar had used it long before him with the same exact meaning that would be dominantly exploited in the future. The paper then problematizes different editions of Stone Sleeper and questions the closing word of textological attempts that aspire to be characterized as authentic and definitive.
